Nice video, very cool helicopter
What a great, fantastically clear video. Exactly what I have been trying to find. The only thing stopping me from buying a Fly Wing H1 (Bell 206) was that I didn't like the toy transmitter. I guess that all Radiolink transmitters will be similar. Thanks a lot !!!
@kevingallagher3742 indeed they are all the same, it really is an easy basic setup, can be frustrating when you have no experience with this brand. Glad you found it of use... Happy Flying 😉
What happens if you don't get a GPS lock? Can you just go straight to 3D and take off?
@MultiSkyman1 indeed you can, unless your very experienced I wouldn't attempt 3D mode though. Atti & 5g mode don't need a sat lock either only GPS mode requires a lock before starting heli. 👍
the only down fall of these helicoptors is the constant buzzing of the tail rotor. how does a person get rid of that buzzing sound?🤔
@terryfoust4802 some people have used other rear props to reduce the sound. Personally I haven't tried this... Flywing are due to release a conversion kit that'll convert the DD motor to a belt driven tail with adjustable pitched blades rather than this fixed pitch version.... 👍
which one should i buy the 2 blade or the 4 blade ??
@petermemmelaar6236 which ever you prefer. Personally I prefer the x4 rotor as it provides more lift and makes heli more stable. If you get the x4 Rotor be sure to drop the headspeed to 65% to accommodate for the extra draw and lift. If you run headspeed too high your at risk of overloading the esc. 👍
@@Tucker_T thanks for the answer
hi from the STATES, USA, may I ask u why did u not purchase the 4 bladed version?? please advise, Ron
@ronaldreynolds9870 I purchased the 2 bladed version as I already owned a x4 rotor meaning I am able to swop heads out and use either a x4 or x2 prop on both my Huey and Bell 206. 👍
Did you get stung on import duties and taxes. I have found the Heli much cheaper abroad but the import and Taxes are a worry
@raspberrypiploy771 No not at all, I've purchased 4 flywing models now and never paid extra upon import. When you purchase from Flywing direct all duties and taxes are paid. Can't comment on other suppliers I'd ask any seller this very question before making any purchases. Flywing definitely pay all duties. Be careful hunting down foreign bargains, as they say.... "if it's to good to be true!" LOL.
@@Tucker_T thats great info thanks will check them out
@@Tucker_T The flying price are very competitive
@raspberrypiploy771 yup, that's why I buy direct, good prices and normally delivered within 10 days. It's also beneficial as if you have any issues then you only have to deal with Flywing rather than a 3rd party that might not have great customer service. Flywings aftersales care is spot-on 👍 .
Hi there, good review, quick question, can you switch between gps and 3d mode while in flight or have you got yo land then switch, thanks ian
@ianmounty no need to land to switch between flight modes. I wouldn't recommend changing to 3D mode in-flight unless your a very confident pilot. When going into 3d mode from any other flight mode (gps,atti,6g) the heli will descend very quickly! If your not prepared for this your very likely to crash. If your a novice flyer I recommend changing 3D mode to ATTI Mode. Change the value on 3d mode from 1000 to 1400. 👍
@Tucker_T thanks for the reply, but iam am a experienced flyer, had quite a few nitro helis and 450 scale with fly bars.ive Not flown for about 10 years, except drones,I would be taking off in 3d and then change to gps mode you see if it got away form me, thanks again probably will buy one it looks a mazing 👍
@ianmounty similar situation to me . I only started flying Heli's again within last 12 months and the gps feature is a great failsafe. Saved me on several occasions! 🤣. You can also activate a hard deck too. You can set it to whatever height you like. I beleive the stock height is set to 8m as soon as you go below this heli will automatically go into gps mode....
I'm torn about this, as I think 4 blades are totally cool, yet, I've never ever seen a Bell 206 with a 4 bladed head IRL. Just looks weird...cool as hell, but weird. lol Little bit of left and right eh??...;) Good thing ya got the up n down correct. Pretty damned cool though!
@nsbob70 the 4 blade rotor is the same on Huey and Bell 222 too, not scale as none of them have 4 blades. It's more about performance than looks. I was wandering how long it would take before the left/right thing was mentioned!!! You win the prize!! 🤣
One danger with these aircraft is some beginner losing control and crashing it into somone or a dog in the park. I imagine this could cause serious injury if the worst was to happen.
The danger of having a dog in the park is that the dog could kill you. It's all about minimising the risk to yourself and those around you and only fly when the risks are low. Unfortunately, there are stupid people who don't know any better and inconsiderate people who don't care about anyone else.
Can you use a different transmitter with this like a DX6 or are you stuck with the transmitter it comes with?
Will this work in the flywing Huey
@@MichaelJohnson-bc3zk Yup, perfectly suitable for the Huey... 👍
3:39 I nearly had a heart attack.
At £600 it an expensive small heli tho
@David-hi9rp Can you get a bigger Heli at this price point? I'm looking at moving upto at least 500 size and your talking over 1K... have you seen the yuxiang heli's half this size and they cost £500. .. please share where you can get a 450/470 scale heli for less than £5-600?
Hello from Phoenix, Arizona USA. Thank you for sharing this with us.
@joeglennaz your welcome, Thankyou 😎
what are you running the led's off buddy? direct from the main battery?
@adriansullivan-q9i I'm using a modified aux on/off switch which is being powered by a 1 cell 3.6v lipo (see other videos). I am in the process of putting a swt flytron strobon cob leds. These will be powered using a y-harness and ubec from the main battery. These Flywing helis are a bit awkward for connecting lights as you can't draw a supply from the Rx so you have to use a workaround by using modified aux switches if you want to be able to switch them manually via Tx
Nice, although its odd and a real pity the manufacturer has placed the tail rotor on the wrong side of the tail boom! I therefore imagine the main rotor also rotates in the opposite (wrong) direction to the real aircraft. I wonder why they couldn't make it so it was correct to the real helicopter....?🤔 Its a nice model overall and its ability to fly so steadily is fantastic! Ive never flown an RC helicopter....have always wanted to and I have always loved the Jet Ranger. Its an absolute classic design and as iconic as an E-Type Jaguar. (Same period in history too). It never looks old. Having worked with the real thing for several years in my past, I have to say those moulded 'rivets' are massive! The actual aircraft has very smooth surfaces with very small rivets where they are not entirely flush. Also, it could do with the over head glazing being painted in if there are no actual transparencies on the model. A tinted blue or blue/green shade would be authentic. Great demo of a nice model. Thanks! 👍🏼
@lawrencemartin1113 it seems to be a common thing with putting the tail rotors on the wrong side! Why manufacturer's do this I haven't a clue. I agree those rivets are very large, although to big I prefer having something rather than nothing. The Flywing Bell 222 (Airwolf) has very little detail in comparison to this Bell 206. In my opinion this is by far the nicest looking shell flywing have produced, yes it's not true to scale but it's still a beauty and the GPS really helps keep it safe from harm! 🤣
What battery do you recommend? The stock flywing batteries aren't very reliable in my opinion. Thanks
@Stankdog69 Personally I do use the stock batteries and never used anything else in these birds. I have 6x5000mah and 3x3000mah and as of yet haven't had any issues. I treat them all with respect, once depleted I will put them into a storage state until 24hrs before flying. So I do my upmost to care for them and as a result they are treating me well. With the 3000's I can easily get 15mins but never hit the 20min mark (but it's cold in the UK at the moment with the warmer weather it might increase times) with my 5000 packs (not in Bell 206) I easily get 20 mins 22 average and 26 at best (that was in summer). I'm always on the lookout for alternatives if you find any please do share. Its hard finding anything over a 2200mAh that'll fit in the Bell 206
Would be nice if they put lights on it to make it look realistic, but it's a beauty.😊
@@jeffreybaba4155 Toataly agree, at the moment it's something we have to do ourselves but I'm informed they will be installing lights on models to come in the near future!

What would happen if at 100% power instead of the 65%? Have a 4 blade rtf ordered & wondering if I have to check the settings, Thanks
@FLYRCc your likely to burn the esc out at 100% headspeed with X4 Rotor. This rotor creates more lift and draws more amps so it's best to reduce the headspeed. In general most flywing helicopters will come with a factory headspeed of 75%. The general rule when fitting the X4 Rotor is to lower headspeed by 10%. Definitely check the settings before you fly. My Huey got delivered with a 75% headspeed and I didn't adjust it. My esc lastest 3 flights before it died. After contacting Flywing they informed me the X4 should be run at 65% although mine got dispatched with a x4 rotor with a 75% headspeed!! So please do check this before you fly. Better safe than sorry. I can say at 65% it had plenty of power, you don't need more than that for scale flight. At 60% it was nice and gentle but slightly docile. Then at 65% it was perfect..... imo. 👍

No skill required ? I remember when it took weeks to set up and learn to fly an RC helicopter. Very impressive model, but where is the challenge?
@simonbirt6121 yeah I remember those days too! Lol. They have designed this system for that exact reason. So many people leave this hobby or are to scared to get started due to the difficulties. Technology has moved on and now you can slowly progress with different flight modes. I beleive if it attracts more people to the hobby then it's only a good thing as more custom means more demand and development. If you want to start the hard way as I did and yourself by the sounds of it you can select manual mode (3d) and heli is no different to any other collective pitch chopper. In manual mode there is absolutely no assistance whatsoever from the H1 controller. So if you want the challenge it's still available... I so wish this tech was around when I started to fly as I would have saved £1000's in repairs and replacements! Maybe it does spoil that learning curve but there is no fun in constantly crashing and these birds are not cheap. 👍
@ Thanks, that is useful. I built and flew mainly fixed wing. I had a brief flirtation with rotary, which involved a lot of time money and practice. Fast forward 30 years and I was flying the full size versions, including helicopters which are much easier when you are sitting in them.
@simonbirt6121 I'm the same, I've always mainly been a fixed wing flyer myself. I've dabbled in helis for a while but as you say they are hard to fly, I spent more time crashing than I did flying! Lol. That's the main reason I stopped flying helis, but with this new system if I get into trouble or disorientated i can quickly hit the GPS switch and heli will hold itself in position allowing me to pull myself back together and start again. I only really use my GPS as a fail safe when in trouble and it has saved me a lot of heartache and misery. I've had over 800 mins on my Flywing models and not had 1 crash yet! When flying normal collective/fixed pitch helis I could barely go 3-4 batteries without a crash! If it wasn't for this system I might not have started flying Helicopters again. I'd love to try the real thing! One can only imagine that orientation is easier whilst sat in the pilots seat! Your very lucky to have such an experience! 👌
Does everything have to be a challenge can we not just enjoy the flying
@dawnsinclair2367 We can inneed, these heli's cater for all pilots no matter the skill level....
The car in the background is not bad either 👍💪💯
@rcpete7055 lol! Which one the RS4 or the A6 Allroad 🤔 🤣 Not a hard question really, she is a beauty too! Thanks man 😉
Hey mr, where is your FB account? regards
Thanks for sharing… Do you have any video on how to convert from two to four blades?
@78jalisco at the moment I don't have a video on installing the x4 rotor it really is simple but I'm sure I can edit a quick video as it's pretty straight forward. Thanks for input, I'll do my best to get one uploaded, shouldn't take long. 👍
👍🏼 Smooth as ice. Flies very stable looks like I’ll be ordering a 4 blade rotor. Great location for flying. Weather also looks good. Haven’t been able to fly mine for some time. Cloudy very winding and been raining every other day.
@thatsmyrc that's the first chance I've had in weeks! Also the last chance too! Lol I literally had a 4hr window of which the winds were below 15mph! Already they are back upto 20+mph and getting stronger everyday! 50-60 mph due by end of week, really does get frustrating. You won't be disappointed with the x4 Rotor especially on the Huey, I'd say that the model that benefits the most from the x4 rotor is definitely the Huey. 👍
@ weather has been the same for me here near two months of it. When it does show a break I can’t get the window to fly. I just ordered up two 4/ blades heads 👍🏼
@thatsmyrc not fun this time of year! I need to move further south! Lol.... my window was between 9am till 11 am so was out first thing, thankfully i have time on my hands with xmas break! Great choice with ordering a x4 rotor just make sure you've ordered the 117mm version as the 101mm will only fit the fw450.... 👍
@@Tucker_T my new rotor heads and rotor head caps showed up today. Helidirect is ultra fast w/ shipping everything I’ve bought. From placing an order to at the🚪 3 days, 4 days top.
@thatsmyrc That is great service! I still average a 2-4 week wait for parts! Gets frustrating at times 🤣. We do have new stockists in the UK and I'm informed that a container of parts is on the way, can't wait. Best of luck with the installation. If your fitting on the Huey then I found the following adjustments to make my Huey fly really well. First off lower headspeed to a maximum of 65% (this is a must to protect esc ) and she should fly really well. Try that first, when I done that it flew lovely but when I lowered swash gain to 20% and self stabilisation to 30% it was amazing! That is the best setup I've been comfortable with, you might well prefer another set-up as we all have our own preferences but for me that was my sweet spot. That was the setup I had when you said she was as nimble as a hummingbird! 🤣. I have now tried X2 Rotor and X4 Rotor in the Airwolf, Bell 206 V3, Huey UH1 V4 and FW450 V3 and that setup there on my Huey is my favourite Flying machine, none of the others feel as good as my Huey with that set-up. It's the best! LoL
what was the battery flight time for the different blades ?
@stevethomas-cc5lz tbh the flight time isn't that different. Yes this x4 rotor will draw more power but at the same time you are running heli at a lower headspeed so it kinda balances out. I've only just started using the 3000's as all the other models will take the 5000mah battery. I am easily getting 15mins with the 3000 battery and x4 Rotor which is enough for me. 👍
@@Tucker_T ok. one more question. how do you change the head speed ? the H1 controls all that
@stevethomas-cc5lz within the H1 software. Hook heli upto a computer and adjust the headspeed slider at the bottom of the first page. I wouldn't recommend going over 65% with the x4 Rotor, the general rule of thumb is to lower headspeed by 10% . I started at 60% on the bell which was fine although a little docile but once I went upto 65% then she felt great 👍
@@Tucker_T gotcha. Thanks

@Tucker_T thank you my friend , very good of you to help us see the goods before we buy , saves us buying the wrong product or having higher expectations.
@Pushinghard101 honestly you wouldn't be disappointed with the X4 Rotor head. I've tried it on all my Flywing models and can honestly say it improves the flight quality on every one of them. I have a feeling I'll be using this setup up a more regular basis.... If you go down this route you'll need the 117mm version for the scale models or the 101mm for FW450 (Inc Airwolf) 👍.
Great video Charlie, i’m now totally convinced to add the Bell 206 to my collection after Mike and your footage. I’m really interested in how you’ve set up the runcam and will add the message in H1 page. Once again, very well done bruv 👏🏾🚁😄👌🏾
@BikoBangs cheers bro! I've seen your message in H1 group so will sort a quick demo for you, it really is simple. All that's required is a 5v ubec and your good to go. 👍
Very nice mate! I really should get get mine flying, still messing with other stuff... 4 blades are awesome, you've got it locked in there, congrats! How was the Thumb footage?
@MattFlyingFPV thanks Matt! I keep saying the same about my Airwolf project just never get round to doing it. Don't ask about runcam! Lol. It seems I put in the wrong sd card, every time I pressed start, the light would flash for 5 secs then go solid red again! So I didn't get any footage at all 🤣. Lesson learnt! I'll get it right one day..... Was just waiting for someone to ask 🙄🤪
Sometimes it does that. If you press record and wait 5 seconds and then stop. Then start record again you should be ok
@ScottBusby-pf3np thanks for reply! I'll give that a go if this happens again. When I use a different sdcard it works everytime but the Samsung sd card I have is very temperamental and when I use my Amazon basic sd card it works flawlessly! All a learning curve, so fingers crossed next time I'll get some runcam footage... 👍

excellent spot for helis. not to far from plymouth
As much as it’s a beautiful heli, and it would have less parts count in the crash aspect, but I do wish it had a belt-driven tail, that $600 price range.
@the_minimalistic_adventure it boils down to production price I suppose. Flywing have just released a belt drive tail for the fw450 but at the moment it's only available in China. If it's successful then we might well see it on future models.

Oh MAANN!! I'm searching how to get my FW-200 working with my Spektrum NX-8! lol I'm gonna watch this video anyway, in hopes I can glean some sort of useful info. ;) I have the little Kensun satellite receiver hooked up to mine, and it works, and does fly, but it's really weird to try to get it to start up, as you have to kind of jockey some buttons around. I can't really explain it as I didn't fully understand what was going on before I said, "I'm takin' a break from this now!" I have my NX-8 bound, with those Kensun receivers, to an OMP Hobbies M-1 and 2, also a GooSky S-1,2, and RS-4, all working great.
@nsbob70 sorry to hear of your issues! it seems to be common setting up spektrum gear. You need a satellite rx and an adaptor to get in working properly. I have no knowledge of setting up spektrum or fw200 but it of my understanding the fw200 needs a minimum 9ch radio and your using an nx8 which is 8 channels. I also beleive there is an update available for your tx which will make it a 16ch radio... again not 100% sure on this system but if you haven't updated lately then a std 8 channel radio isn't going to work.... But you mention it's worked before is that right? Maybe if it is being awkward starting try a fresh stick calibration in the H1 software, maybe? .... 🤷♂️
Nice chopper....BUT your brave as hell getting that close to the blades....one small error or break in connection and you would definitely be missing something.
@perryh.5306 thanks for the advice 🙏
If it didn’t say Los Angeles on it it would be perfect.
Is this something a beginner could handle?
@danny-li6io Absolutely 💯 % suitable for beginners. These helicopters were built and designed with beginner's in mind. I so wish this technology was available when I started flying RC helicopters as it would have saved so much misery! 😂
@ thank you!
Love the sound of it.
Merci beaucoup Monsieur. Très beau vol.
@@gidesp1 très apprécié 👍
Nice, but too much electronics makes it too similar to a drone. If I were to let go of the radio control sticks on my TREX450 helicopter for just a moment, I would lose control with catastrophic effects. For me, the beauty of flying a radio-controlled helicopter is precisely in the difficulty and speed of reaction that must be given to the commands to make it fly as realistically as a real model.
@marconidi3128 It can fly like a full CP heli if you want it too. GPS is one flight mode out of 4. You are correct normal CP/FP helis can be ridiculously hard to learn! Been there done that lol. For me the GPS is a great failsafe, if your disoriented whilst flying you can hit the GPS switch and heli will hover on the spot allowing you to pull yourself back together.... this tech has saved me a lot of money and misery, sure I can fly other helis but I'd be the first to admit I was never a great pilot and have spent 1000's repairing and replacing models. Since flying these helicopters I've not had one crash! That is not to be moaned at! I'm very greatful of this new tech. The biggest problem is that a lot of noobs to the hobby don't progress past gps mode which is a problem as if there is an issue with the GPS (happens) then they are generally doomed as once GPS is lost they soon realise they can't fly at all 😂.
How’s your airwolf project coming along?
@thatsmyrc slowly!! Lol. I'm waiting for parts from Flywing which is holding up my entire project! That's the only issue with these Helicopters, and that is the sourcing of parts. Apparently we are getting a supplier in the UK soon, I certainly hope so as waiting 1 month for parts is becoming frustrating! Lol. Any heli I buy arrives in under 2 weeks but for some reason the parts take forever. This weekend I'm fitting the Flytron Strobon cree led's, they look awesome and very bright. I'm also fitting some afterburner lights too! Can't help myself! 🤣
I used another configuration: A battery diverter (power source is the main battery. XT60 male-female pass-through with an additional JST female plug), a DC-DC BEC (stepping down from 14,8 Volts to 5 Volts) and then I followed your configuration.
@andreas26575 Good job, that'll work perfectly. Doesn't have to be a separate battery, running a UBEC from a y-harness off main battery will have the desired outcome. I'm re-doing all the auxiliaries and lights on my Airwolf with Flytron Strobon cree led's and a runcam thumb pro so im intending on doing the same as you, I will be using a 5v ubec from the main battery into modded switch 👍
I also watched other video where he installed nav/strobe lights on his Flishrc heli using a BEC drawing power from from the main battery but he did not use the remote controller to switch on/0ff the lights..
@earlskie2u Thanks for message. There are many different methods, just depends what your requirements are. You can also power this switch using a bec from main battery. 👍

Most councills have banned the use of RC aircraft in the majority of parks in the UK, you can't fly on any national trust land, you can't fly within 80m's of commercial or residential properties, you can't fly over roads, you can't fly where you might cause a disturbance to wildlife, you can't fly near members of the public. Your best options are at a club where you have landowners permission or indeed any farmland with farmers permission. This really limits where you can legally fly, it all boils down to common sense really, just go to the quietest place without any people or properties near by, that way you won't get any complaints and of course the most important thing is to make sure your not flying in a restricted airspace zone. I've had my fair share of people getting on their high horse so I do my best to fly somewhere isolated from others. Tbh most people are not bothered and quite fascinated when they see these birds flying but you always get the odd person that beleives they know it all! One thing I have noticed though is since I've been wearing a camera on my head most people tend to stay away from you rather than approach you. I found this to be very useful at keeping the moaners at bay.... 🤣
@@Tucker_T Just keep your public liability insurance paid and you should be fine.
@theaustralianconundrum 🤣
@@Tucker_T yeah its all thats stopping me getting one , all the flying clubs are an hours drive away too - looks good fun anyway
@steveo3002 If it's what you want don't let a few rules stop you getting one. Again if your safe and sensible you shouldn't have any issues. I generally travel 30-60 mins to most of my flying spots. I'm not a club kinda person so don't use them myself. My closet club is only 15-20 mins away but that's not my scene, I like to fly solo 😉. Have a search locally and see if you have any spots close by. I'm on Devon/Cornwall border and we have a disused airport from ww2 in Davidstow and flying of rc craft is permitted on the east runway. Worth looking into if you want to participate in this hobby, generally when I fly I make a day of it, I don't mind travelling for peace of mind...
