Empty Traditions? Advent & Colossians

St. Paul's warning in Colossians is not against all traditions or ascetic practices but against those that detract from Christ's sufficiency or impose themselves as necessary additions to salvation. The Church’s practices, when grounded in Christ, serve to deepen our faith, unite us to His Body, and make His grace visible and tangible. Great introduction to the sacraments, thank you Father. I look forward to watching the in depth videos of each of the sacraments.

Good question. In the catholic faith, there is no age restriction for baptism. So, an infant can be baptized and a 100 year old can be baptized. Anyone who is baptized, regardless of age, may receive Holy Communion. Though there’s not a set age, confirmation usually happens around 12 though in the Christian East, confirmation (called chrismation in the East) happens immediately after baptism regardless of age. Confession, of course, depends on one’s ability to comprehend culpability for one’s actions. The sacrament of healing has no age restriction. Holy Orders and Matrimony are obviously, as you point out, for those of legal adult age. Thanks for watching and taking time to ask your question. God bless you.

What is the minimum age to partake in each of the sacraments? Obviously the answers will be different for baptism than for matrimony as an example.
