How to Build a Generic Part
Generic parts in Flux are a powerful way to speed up your design. Just import the type of part and worry about the details later. In this video, I show you exactly how to build a generic part for your own library. Specifically, I'm building a generic coin cell retainer for button batteries. This process can be applied to any part that has different sizes or values.

Audio CODEC Module Start to Finish
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I'm showing you the whole process of designing an audio CODEC module from start to finish. The inspiration for this video came from a follower that was curious about how to implement an audio CODEC, so please leave a comment for any other projects you'd like me to cover. Of course, all of my PCB designs are done using Flux, a modern PCB design software in the browser. Sign up for...
How I Built Excalipad: A Custom Arduino Gaming Controller
มุมมอง 1.2Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I take on the challenge of crafting a one-of-a-kind custom PCB gaming controller, graciously sent to me by the ingenious Vasyl. With the power of Arduino at its core, this controller has the ability to emulate a keyboard and mouse, allowing me to use it for almost any game. Along the way, I encountered some hurdles that could have held me back, but armed with determination and in...

I Automated my Garden Irrigation with Arduino
มุมมอง 5Kปีที่แล้ว
Join me on an exciting journey as I delve into the realm of smart gardening. Using the cutting-edge Arduino cloud platform, I created an intuitive dashboard that grants me complete control over my garden from anywhere. Not only is it more convenient, but it prevents me from over-watering and, therefore, wasting water. To accomplish this, I took it to the next level by designing my very own prin...
How to Use Power Planes in Your PCB Stackup
มุมมอง 2.2Kปีที่แล้ว
Power planes can be incredibly useful in circuit board design, but if you put in on the wrong layer, it can cause a whole lot of issues. In this video, I'll show you a better stackup along with how to implement that stackup in Flux. Furthermore, I cover how to create power planes for any net in your design. Sign up for Flux. It's free: www.flux.ai/ Follow me on Twitter: CorneliusWri...
Door Sensor-Controlled Pantry Light
มุมมอง 780ปีที่แล้ว
My pantry was too dark, so I did what any maker would do. I built my own instead of buying something and calling it a day. I designed a PCB (printed circuit board) to detect the status of a magnetic reed switch and turn on a light accordingly. This technology is similar to door sensors for alarm systems. The difference, however, is the PCB fits inside of the light fixture and uses the 120V AC, ...

Custom Pad Shapes in Flux - Creating Complex Footprints for Integrated Circuits
มุมมอง 546ปีที่แล้ว
Join me as I demonstrate how to create a customized footprint for an integrated circuit using Flux, a modern PCB design software. I'll walk you through the steps of designing unusually-shaped pads using Adobe Illustrator or any vector editing software. Additionally, we cover dimensions, alignment, merging shapes, and scaling the SVG files for import into Flux. Part shown in the video: www.flux....

Hey, I am having a porblem with my layers, is there somewhere we can communicate to see if oyu can help me? The thing is my design is 4 layers and the middke ones are 3v3 and GND, it generates something called "Via-sland-0. Via-Island-0" and I think it is shorting all the layers.

Guys please, this is not where the strengths of AI lie. You guys are focusing on the exact areas where AI DOESN'T excel. Give the AI direct control over the design and let it take away the busy work of drawing individual connections, Use AI to capture schematics from pictures etc. I realize that this is more involved than what you have now, but you guys are so close and yet so far! For example prompts like the below need to work, and I have tried achieving similar things using Gemini with EDA software that can import design files in ascii formats to a reasonable degree of success, if 5 minutes of messing about with a hack like that can generate decent results, a purpose made software should be able to achieve a lot more right off the bat. * "Take these screenshots of ESP32 S3 reference design, 3v3 LDO, and USB-UART bridge, and design me a schematic for a devboard similar to nodemcu based on them" * -Open existing design based on an ATMega "Modify this previous design to work with an ESP32-WROVER, take care of the pin capabilities" * "rearrange this 30x30mm PCB layout to a 10 x 90mm outline. Keep J1 and J2 on the left side" * "In this previously done ESP32 design, check whether all the pin connections are matched to their capabilities, for example analog signals connected to analog inputs, all strapping pins connected correctly, RX-TX pins matched correctly" * "Arrange the UART bridge block's components for optimum space efficient routing, but dont do the routing itself. give me 5 copies showing 5 different layout options"

2024 pcb software should be more like ChatGPT where you just tell it for example: "give me a 3x3cm single sided pcb for a LDR controlled 5mm LED using a 2n3904 npn". And boom, there it is.

I coppied your circuit and made a pcb for it in under 5 minutes using Pcad2002 - a 23 year old software package. It does everything Flux does, just not the 3D view at the end. Pcad also auto links in real time between the circuit layout and the pcb layout. It has the design rules. It even has a auto router, thow that usualy needs manual touch up afterwards.
