In 1996 we celebrated our 25th anniversary which was our first trip to Hawaii. We took many trips to the islands every 8 months for years and visited all of the main ones and some several times. This was our first trip and we have many friends who live in Hawaii that we visit regularly and they come to visit us here on the mainland.

The Brooklyn Factory is gone and all we have is our memories and photos. If you knew anyone from that era who was in the pressroom or would like to see what we did with that old machinery, Aid Book, Bibles, Watchtowers, Tracts and excellent printing using old technology. We didn't go to work in suits everyday or use computers. It was blood, sweat, and tears. They were rich years and all of us a...

I GOT BAPTIZED IN NYC AT 'PEACE ON EARTH' ASSEMBLY IN 1969...
Yeah I was there at Yankee Stadium. I was serving at Bethel and we were assigned there. Also my local congregation was close to Yankee Stadium, was Courtland Congregation about 2 miles from the stadium.
Sweet
I’m quite late seeing this, but I’ve enjoyed it so much! I went to Bethel as a single sister of 48, in 2011 and was there on and off for three years. I was the first one my age to be invited…I was beyond thrilled.
Je ne vois pas le poteau où il y a Jésus.
I enjoyed watching this ❤, loved the choice of music too 👀
Thanks but I might add that my original music with some of the old original early Beatles music like Penny Lane and other songs that we used to listen to with a cheap AM radio in our Bethel room in 1967.
Served with Br.Ray Rose in the Plumbing Department in the newly acquired Squibb Building. Faith was built up so much there. Wonderful friends made there. Truly a spiritual paradise and a lot of work with it.

Thank you faithful brother's and sisters ❤️❤️❤️🩹❤️❤️❤️ for all your hard work in proclaiming the good news of Jehovah's Kingdom threw Jesus Christ. I truly love you all
Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for memories. Worked in cleaning for 6 months. Cleaned the locker room next to Harris 6. Then 2-10 mailing. Night watchman a few times... 👍😎❤️

Thank you so much for taking the time to put these priceless photos and memories together. They brought tears to my eyes and thoughts of appreciation for what Jehovah accomplished. I worked in linotype and proofreading between 68 and 72. Part of my proofreading assignment took me to the 6th floor, building #1 proofreading office for several months. Seeing familiar faces like Jay Kosinski, Ewing Russell, Cal Cruder, Louie Wildman wiped away years of time in an instant. Your photos brought back the smells, the noise and the sensation of the building shaking. If you know where Jay Kosinski is located, please let me know. We served in the same congregation and he was best man at my wedding. Over the years I lost track. Well done! Thanks again. Wally Kuehn
Wally, nice to hear from you. First of all I talk to Jay regularly. I wont say much on this public forum. I have an email which is one I use that isnt my more personal one. Please contact me there at ahppnw@gmail.com and we will continue this conversation. One of the purposes of this particular video is to contact many of the "old guys" who are looking for friends. Later, Ahp
Hes no longer in traveling work, now retired south of Chicago email me at ahppnw@gmail.com and Ill send you his contact information. Ahp
I was a witness back in the day and left when I was 17 in the early 90's but had an uncle that served in bethel in the 80's as a waiter and always brought home many of his friends and they were good people. The generation now days is totally different...sure they work hard but I respect your generation more and can see all the hard good old fashion of a hard day work from stories I've heard from the older generation and plus hearing this from you. Good hard honest work, respect, humble, and just good people. A+++ Photos of hard work don't lie.
Congratulations on taking your life back! Much love.
Pretty cool. That's the kind of place I'd like to run away to
This is awesome Hank, you really put your heart into these videos. Well done old friend
First time I've seen this one, but I remember you telling me about the dust & the officials almost shutting you down. Thanks for this one Hank
I worked in the Brooklyn pressroom from 1994-2003 and then after the Brooklyn shutdown I was transferred to the Wallkill pressroom from 2003-2012. It was great to see those that came before us! I only recognized two faces that I worked with, Harry Johnson and John Earp. Thank you for sharing your pictures and memories.
Yeah Mike, that was after Wheelock was gone, I visited him in 89 and said my goodbyes. Sad thing........
Hey Mike, which press did you work before you left?
Went there 71-75 at 18 yrs. old. Worked on Milan Miller’s press erection crew re-assembling m.a.n. Presses in bldg. 3; then WT press bundler with Lee Pollack on #22. Roomed with Ron Nixon 6 mos. Until he left. Indeed, most formidable years; living with Christ’s brothers, eating at Jehovah’s table, making friends for throughout eternity. Amazing!
Nice to know you Jeff, this is Alan Priller, 67-71. Knew Ron Nixon well, one of the nicest guys I ever knew, sadly, and Im sure you know, he passed away a few years and the memorial was in Fresno. Lots of former Bethelites attended and while Im 12 hour drive north of him in Oregon, we just couldnt make it that weekend. He was a good guy, I think I may have a picture of him somewhere working on the mag subscription machine. You must have worked on presses maybe 3/7? (bldg 3 floor 7?) When I left they didnt have the 6th floor bldg 3 filled yet. But I worked on Hoe Roe so I was at the way other end of bldg 2 against the Manhattan bridge. By the way have you seen my video of the old pressroom? You can send me email at ahppnw@gmail.com and then Ill give you my more personal email and put you in my former Bethelite/pressroom file. Ahp
My husband served from 74-98 and I was there 94-98. Brooklyn and then Patterson. Wonderful to see it all again and enjoy those precious memories.
Thank you kindly, your initials are the same as my best friend there at Warwick, LC Cotton in Hospital Info Services.
Thanks for posting this. I was kid in the 60's but my parents brought me to Brooklyn Bethel often and we knew quite a few of the Bethelites. I also used to drive down on a regular basis with my uncle to pick up literature for the congregation at the shipping department. Good times.
Hi Milton, thanks for your expression
great spiritual heritage indeed.
Great collection of prints. We are looking for the Seaside Rollarcoaster in print or film. Best wishes!
By any chance do you have any videos of Parque Alcalde in Guadalajara?
No I dont. We sure liked Guad and was thinking about moving to the Chapala area in 2000 but grandchildren showed up by being born and Mama said no cant go, gotta stay close to the two grandkids. But we sure liked that area of the world. The climate of Chapala was very similar to Maui and it really appealed to us. There was a mix of USA expats and local Mexican people and they got along very well. My wife is German/Mexican and we would have fit in.
I served there '70-'74 in the Bindery, 4 & 5th floors when the "Truth" book required night shifts to meet the need in the field. Those were unforgettable years! Thanks for the videos.
Did you know my roommate Joe Gingerich who was on a casemake? We left at the same time Feb 28th 1971, he died in 1995 sadly. Another guy was Ray Massed, he passed a few years ago.
I was there from 1977 to 1985, and I was just like you said about how great to was, so, so true. Thanks for the Pics.
Thanks Frank, I went into construction after also....I owned an Insulation Company.
Wow that's a lot of boats in the bay. And that was 13 years ago think about it now
Nice view, wish the video was at least a minute.
Jak ten czas leci!!!
I was there March 1970-March 1974. Most of the time on MAN 18 and 15. Wow. This brought back so many memories. And a few tears. Thank you.
Hi Jim and thanks for your comments. Ieft Feb 28th, 1971. I dont remember meeting you and Im sorry for that but after all Im nearly 74. I still stay in contact with close to 50 former Bethelites and have briefly chatted with many more. Email and the internet has brought us all back together after 50 years. Outstanding! The oldest one that I still know out of the pressroom served from 59-63 and is getting up there in his 80s. Take care and stay in touch, while youre at it, check out some of my other videos. Al Priller
My father worked in the Bindery in Brooklyn, 1968-1972. I served as a waiter in Brooklyn 1993-1997. These are beautiful, thank you for sharing!
Good to hear from you brother, be safe!
Wish it was longer.
Newel Walton was a PO in a congregation in Virginia back in the late 80s and early nineties 90s :-) At timeline: th-cam.com/video/X5qMkq2xMJ4/w-d-xo.html
Newell trained me for awhile in 1968 before he left and I have kept in contact with him over the years occasionally. Hes a good brother.
good color for the time. Were these slides?
Yeah old ones, we used a lot of ectachrome I think it was called, fast film for taking night pictures without flash.
@@Hankster.Northwest My father used slide film and night film in the 60s
I wish Bethel had stayed in Brooklyn. Nice vid. Loved the aerial pics at the end too
Well its an emotional thought out of our past, I get it, but they are so better off out of the city now.
@@Hankster.Northwest It was a well oiled machine for many years all the way up to the sale of the properties
Thank you AHP I visited Bethel with my wife in 88 and keep in touch with an old 'lifer' that had been there since 72 before the mass exodus of Bethelites. Miss Bethel being in Brooklyn
Yes, Brooklyn was special, however a young brother came up to me and asked me if I served in Warwick, I said no brother, it was a long time ago...he looked puzzled and I just said.......Allegheny.....
I enjoyed the video. Great memories serving Jehovah though I wasn’t at Bethel I have friends who were. I was privileged to work temp at Walkill and sure enjoyed the experience. Also toured Brooklyn several times over the years. Thank you again
I just found this in June 2020 though it's been here since September 2011. You did a good job putting this together. I toured the printing facility back in 1989 or 90. I'm not a JW but have known many through the years. A fellow Christian that used to live in Brooklyn took me here. I visited the Watchtower Farm later, too. That was with a JW friend of mine.
Glad you enjoyed it Daniel, I have many more videos also I particularly enjoyed the old pressroom at Brooklyn.
@@ahpriller361 I will look up your videos now that I know about you. Just today I had a good conversation with a JW I met 3 years ago. He installed a windshield for me then and another one today.
Daniel Mudge when you visit jw.org you can search for more of our history in Brooklyn.

Enjoyed the program. Brought back some great memories. I was at Bethel 1968-1972. A second tour of duty 1976-1982. Great times in Jehovah’s organization. Glad I was there when the old guard was still around. Thanks for the memories.
We were there at the same time, but I dont remember you. wondering where you worked, what was your assignment. Check out my Brooklyn Pressroom 1967-1972 you might like that one and see some familiar faces. Al
Ahp _ thanks for sharing these. Helps bring back fond memories of my service there.
There was some explosive growth during the late 60s early 70s, partly because of the push for 1975 as the possible date for Armageddon.
My mom was baptized in Detroit, Mich at another 8-day assembly in 1964, she raised four of us in the truth, still going strong, thanks to Jehovah.
