Bio wiring was a moment of real insanity in Mercedes history. Thankfully, they got over it after 3 or 4 years. I've had an 85 300d and an 01 e320. L9ved them both.

My favorite will always be the SEC AMG's. But this era E class is a close second. Third would be the W140's.

According to what I've read, that engine, M119 was developed by Mercedes based on the AMG M117/119 (the Hammer). It wasn't made by AMG, it was made by Mercedes, post-merger. It went to AMG in house post-91 for modification to 6.0 just after it entered production in 1991 but it's a Mercedes engine, not an AMG engine, the original Hammer DOHC called M117/119 because the M119 came from it was the AMG pre-merger engine. The M119 did not start production until 1991. The M119 AMG 6.0 did appear first in the R129 SL before the W124 or any other M119 AMG, but that still wasn't until 1991. This engine is a retromod. If it was an original 1989 pre-merger AMG 6.0 it would have the Hammer engine. Mercedes built the M119. I would suggest this engine is actually an M119.970 special Japanese delivery AMG 6.0 which started production in late 1993. Please check the engine number.

my '90 300SL with M104, while not technically one of the 'bio degradeable' harnesses can suffer from heat and age and I found the insulation it somewhat crumbly. Other soft rubber parts on the intake manifold were petrified as well

93-98 had soy based wiring sheaths. The heat of the engine bay would degrade them prematurely.

MINE WAS GARAGED AND MAINTAINED WITH ALL THE DOCUMENTATION. IT IS SO CLEAN AND ORIGINAL INSIDE AND OUT. THESE CARS ARE THE CROWN JEWELS OF COLLECTIBLES FOR GUYS ON A BUDGET.

Sad part, a low mileage like this is as mechanically bad as a 200k car. They don't like to just sit. After rebuilding fuel, cooling, suspension and steering, brakes, ignition, any rubber hoses and lines, and any possible issues with wiring (may have the bio-degradeable wire coatings). once done, you will have a wonderful example of a fantastic car. Don't misunderstand, I'd jump on this too. take my time and do all I mentioned, and enjoy every mile from then on. Wishing you much luck, and I'm trying desperately not to be too envious. Enjoy!

Changing the radiator on a W124 is very easy. Water pump, not so much.

I have an issue with air flow in the mid fans they aren’t blowing enough air like the side ones. What would be the solution?

Grab an AGM products JackRod for that trolley jack. Have had them let go.
