Hey brother, is this puppy for sale, by chance? I'm going to purchase one of these 79 GL Goldwing bikes early spring if this is for sale then maybe you could just hang onto it and enjoy BEFORE you offer it up for sale to me, yes?

GORGEOUS! I'm no fan of dressers or 7-spoke cast wheels, or Vetter fairings for that matter - but this one really floats my boat. The extra/relocated kill-switch is a brilliant feature. WTF are those little concho buckles on the SPOKES for though? Pretty bizarre stuff - Do they light up at night? Reflect the other lights? Well they're hella cool either way. Absolutely beautiful dresser. It's just that well, IMHO the 'Wing should be set up as an ENDURANCE RACER like the Rickman/Dresda "WING THING" or the Donque "DLF-1000" etc - These bikes were the fastest most powerful bike Honda had made up 'til '79 so why not respect those roots and give it a RACER'S aesthetic? At the very least, there are some very appropriate track-capable components from within the four-banger 'Wing series itself - The 2.5x18" front Comstar from '81 GL1100A, the 2.5x17" rear if nothing else - the 296mm dual-disc set-up, 39mm fork or better yet 41mm from GL1200 or GL1200, a non-TRAC version of which using two non-TRAC 41mm legs from the RHS of VF1000R forks - with custom brackets for early single-puck calipers, this could be a real "SLEEPER" or "STEALTH" set-up! The dished one-piece 296mm rotors from CB1100RB are now available in replica form via Metalgear Australia - Cognito Moto does a decent wire-spoke conversion of a Comstar hub in billet Aluminum though the original HONDA version of which from "CB750P7-ii" rare though it might be, would be the lighter weight version of the two - it's just harder to find is all. That dual-disc 5-bolt front hub gives you SEVERAL options for front rotors, including the 6-bolt 9-rivet style 'cause there's a 5-bolt version of that one too - The rear disc could & should be cut down to 276mm max diameter 'cause there are OEM period-correct calipers to suit that - Far better to go 260mm with a period TRIUMPH rear caliper & hanger, ideally with the AP-Racing CP2696 caliper back there - Personally, I'd rather use the OEM rear caliper with a cut-down hanger bracket, preferably in an under-slung position. How about the adjustable Hirth-spline type CLIP-ON bars from CB1100R & VF1000R? The "Sport-Kit" throttle from Euro-market CB900FZ or the CBX550F etc etc. We ought to have a modified version of the earlier ALLOY switch-pots, incorporating that same "SPORT-KIT" throttle cable orientation. A TON of good period-correct OEM bits for a more capable chassis & running-gear etc. Slap a taller rear rim on it, 3,50x18" preferably the "Super-Akront" type, even if this means modifying the cross-brace tube on the swing-arm - It could be removed & replaced with a loop under-brace - Anything you lost in the bottom end grunt would be compensated for with a faster TOP end speed - Replace the billboard fairing with a BUBBLE fairing or better yet a DUSTBIN - Let the 'Wing give the GUZZI LeMans a run for it's money! Or for that matter, the BMW K100 & K1 series! Now THAT'S the type of thing which needs to be done with the venerable GOLD WING platform!!!

I got a JP Pro Street for $2500 recently. The KBB value is only $2640 as of now. It changes though. Hopefully they will go up. BTW, where is the oil drain bolt on this thing? I assume it's the same for the Pro Street.
