i love these guitars. crazy to think it was probably like 2-3 individual luthiers who made these masterpiece instruments back in the day. I have 2 67' CW and I like to imagine the same guy made both

It sounds pretty good, if you like a typical Martin tone. Compared to dozens of similarly priced small-number builds from luthiers, it sounds very average.

I never got into strats all that much but the one strat that made me enjoy a strat was this exact model. The only other ones I quite liked were American Original 50s and 60s strats.

I tried it because of this video. And in real it sounds like plastic. The whole E Series does. But the Eastman AC series from 522 upwards sounds really good. Especially the AC 522 is great for blues. And the DT30D sounds good too. My Duke GA CM for 600 € is better then all Eastmans under 2000 €. And its laminated! After research I think it has something to do with the binding. The good sounding ones have wood binding the bad sounding ones all have plastic binding. And this is exactly what they sound like.
Then you've got an incredible Duke GA CM! :) We're big fans of the E Series and often have very impressive guitars from this series in our store.
@@tfoademos3809I also think that I got an exceptionally good Duke. I can't explain it any other way. But it has an ebony fretboard, ebony bridge, ebony pins and bone bridge inlay and nut, and mahogany bindings. Those are already good prerequisites. A luthier who rounded the fretboard for me didn't want to believe that it was only laminated, that's how well made it is. But still, the whole E series sounds kind of cheap when you compare it directly with a good guitar. Whether Martin or Gibson. They just can't compete. Ok, they definitely win against the equally expensive martin. And the AC series from AC 522 onwards is definitely better than the much more expensive Taylors. That's my impression. But who wants a hole in the side? I'm not saying anything against Eastman, I own an AC 522 by myself, but they are no substitute for a good Martin or Gibson. I really tried, but I need a J 45.
