Filling with down feathers
มุมมอง 43K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Working with down feathers can be a nightmare. If you attempt to do it by hand then you will be picking feathers off of everything until the end of time (seriously...) I'll show you how I learned how to stuff a pillow with down feathers in a much more oddly satisfying way... with a feather bazooka! Thanks to Old Empire for letting us use their music in today's video! 😍😍😍

Here I am adding a metallic silver wash, along with a dark antiquing glaze over a de-saturated teal to help it achieve what we call "Delta Blue" to match the look of our Delta Wood Lathe.
"that's what she said" hehehe Thank you for the demo and giggle, Tifkat
Can pleaseeee someone tell me how to desinfect raw feathers to make pillows etc...im washing all now with antiseptic shampoo on 70 C in washing machine .... pleaseeee help
What is that tool with the black handle blue lettering called?
Thank you so much ❤
Was the welt cut on the bias initially? Wondering about going around the multiple curves and turns. Very helpful video for a newbie.
awesome demo, thank you!
love this video. i am struggling with a 5 baffle feather cushion for my couch. what kind of air compressor? i dont know anything about them
Oh my gosh!! Thank YOU SO MUCH ❤! I was trying to figure out how to do fill my smaller throw pillows with feathers but didn’t “get it”. I didn’t even know that ticking fabric was specifically for down filling. Thank you thank you thank you!! You have solved my down pillow sewing crisis. And honestly they’ve been sitting in my storage units for several years, just waiting for you. Thanks again for sharing. Woot woot!🎉
Thank you for all your very handy tips!
Great job. Amazing finish to the woodwork as well, I d love some details on that
Gorgeous material. And made for a beautiful pillow. Many thanks for your time. Most helpful.
Beautiful. You are the best.
where can I find the feathers to purchase ?
Furniture upholstery is one of the toughest professions. Few people respect the profession. As far as pulling staples I have always used a pair of needle nose pliers with the tips ground. For me it was the fastest and easiest. Our upholstery shop was open for 80 years. I appreciate that you’re still doing it with the mass production of new furniture being so cheap. The hours and skill it takes to do a job correctly makes it hard to compete . Good luck.
Awesome! I love clever, low tech ideas like this! I can’t wait to try it.
What were the measurements of everything
I really like your method and the finished pillow. I hope you do more videos.
freaking brilliant!
This is amazing!! Thank you so much!!
Yeah Goonies!!
just what I was looking for! Thankyou!
Just the tip 😂😂😂😂
🤯🙏
Very cool 😎
Great video ! Very helpful and straight to the point !
Awesome. Thank you for the demonstrating how it is done. I’ll be making a couple of pillows this weekend out of an old feather bed. Thanks again. ⭐️
That is one cool chair! Nice work!
Thanka for sharing the video! Im wondering what fabric did you use for the down cover? (I mean the white one)
i'm wondering the same thing
It's "ticking" fabric.
Hi
I noticed you did not sew channels into your cushion insert....I was going to try to sew an insert with the channeling but if it will work without that will be much easier...thanks for the bazooka tip!
What group is that playing ? Good work by the way, so thanks for sharing.!!
Good idea
Thank you for this video you just saved my ass a nightmare of down feathers.
I recently bought my mom a silk duvet comforter it's a full size and it was empty so I bought 5 pound's of goose down feather's so my question is do you think that will be enough??
I love that your fabric and you shirt are the same colour!!
I used a shop vac. I placed my feather bag inside the shop vac reservoir taped the opening to the inside hose hole so the feathers wouldn't fly all inside the reservoir, then I set the vac in reverse and boy oh boy, prepare yourself... super fast, clean and pretty cool.
I love it!
I use a electric leaf blower with a suction tube that came with the blower. I run the blower at a very low speed using a variable voltage input to the blower. The impellor fluffs up the goose down as it goes through it.
How did you attach the pillow case to the blower? I don't have a variable voltage input, but the tool has high and low speeds
Genius. This video is so helpful.
I was NOT prepared for that settee with that pillow! OMG! 😍😍😍
I LOVE down pillows! Thanks for tis video. I have a small air compressor that I bought to replace canned air and hope that will work. I have several old down/feather pillows that I want to add down to.
super sexy tattoos , plz make a video showing every your tattoo in detail. thank you.
What is the black and blue tool called?
'Double Rock' Staple Remover
I have an old feather duvet ... this has given me an idea.
Great video. Music was distracting. Thanks for sharing.
Music was brilliant.
You had me at the whisper of "that's what she said"
Why not use a plastic pipe?
Awesome. Yeah, nah. Can I send my pillows to you now to do all that for me?
Please, where can I get a good quality ticking fabric for heavy use seat cushions ? thank you
How many pounds of feathers did it take to fill that pillow ?
