Red or Blue?

You're assuming I was actually trying to do either. I'd not played in ages and had no idea what the controls were but was trying to see how it looked with the wand attached to vr controllers. Some buttons may have been mashed inadvertently!

Its superb tbh, looks almost flawless and plays smoother than....something really smooth !

I'm not convinced the luke ross mod is still available, which I personally never tried. But I'd probably say this way just edge's it because of the head tracking!

@ okay, I just installed the Luke Ross mod and find it amazingly good. However, I can only play at a resolution of 1700x1700. Anything higher is unplayable with my 4080 Super. I thought maybe the performance would be better with this method, and I might be able to play it at 2000x2000.

@@headset-vr6310 I'm not really sure what the problem was, but for me,after 1.6. R.E.A.L became almost unplayable.. I spent week or so trying to get everything set up, and now it's working way better than it ever has. The TAA halos are almost invisible, I'm getting a stable 72 FPS (could've been more, my Quest 3 on 72 Hz), and it looks great! Snd yep, if the fluid motion doesn't give you lag/twitches, you probably don't need to turn it off.

Pretty sure the Vorpx VR mod for Cyberpunk had motion controls implemented last time I played it....

@@headset-vr6310 I never tried Cyberpunk VR mod (just VorpX with a lot of games). But you're right, It seems there is a gesture system (probably compatible with all games). Is it like true motion control or you just do recorded gesture ?

@ElRaiser-y6x last time I used it was for Phantom Liberty, don't really recall how intuitive it was but it was pretty good

Well, if you don't like this video or others like it, nobody is making you watch them. REALVR is what the developer has called his mod and what people commonly know it as, so hence why I've called it the same thing. So, as you seem to have an issue with this, then perhaps it makes sense to direct your comments to somewhere the developer can see it instead of here.

@@headset-vr6310 My suggestion would be to rename the title to something akin to: `Blown Away by Cyberpunk 2077 using "REAL VR mod" (RX7900XTX)`. Put the mod name in quotes, makes it more clear.

It's just in mono but it looked nice and crisp in the headset. Can't wait to play some more! 😝

You have Z3D with VorpX wich isn't very demanding (or alternate G3D, but you need to lower the graphics). I would recommand to play any other game with VorpX, because Cyberpunk is the only one too demanding right now. Metro Exodus (true G3D=stereo 3D, not alternate, or Z3D with raytracing), Kingdom Come (true stereo 3D) or Frontier Of Pandora (good Z3D) would be better choices with an RTX4090. Bioshock 1 and Infinite with a GTX1080 are already great, and Bioshock 2 original is awesome ! (But maybe more demanding)

Does it not work on a AMD card?

Well, I'm pretty sure I didn't use SteamVR as I always use openXR with games in UEVR. Other than that, I can only guess on Quest settings because this was 8 months ago I'm afraid and it's not something I'd honestly remember. Sorry!

I've been struggling and ultimately giving up on Hogwarts lately as it needs a 4080/90 to run it well I think with UEVR or Ross Mod. I have the 6950XT so I can run at 90Hz sometimes, depending on the game. When you set up for Open XR are you running via Virtual Desktop or just running games via Steam with the XR Plugin? I find VD isn't great without a very close Access Point router and 5Ghz only. There are several variables at play in these setups aren't there, it's a juggling act sometimes. Thanks again :)

@informedchoice2249 All I've been doing is selecting openXR on the me u and injecting whilst in game. I'm not using virtual desktop at all, game just launches into VR from there. I try to avoid SteamVR personally. I've upgraded my GPU recently to RX7900XTX so at some point, I'm sure I'll jump into it again soon as I find it's one of the better performing UEVR games

Have you tried using vr controllers or a gamepad?

@@headset-vr6310 Yes thank you, after I wrote this comment I had the idea to try my controllers and it worked, however this was the first time I experienced mouse cursor not working on UEVR UI.

Not sure what you mean by "playable for living rooms" because I played this in my living room....

@ yeah but it’s not for the masses accessible and far away from beeing good , that’s what I mean.. it’s also much to expansive for the current technical state it’s in, my opinion…

@sebastian-gs9ff well until we see more AAA games in VR, it feel like a niche. But that's what is so good about UEVR, you can have incredible VR experiences on you PC

@ it has the potential to be the future , self explaining. The visions and study projects show it ( see in movies, how fascinated it would be if it works like that). But that’s my vision I would like it to be , and before it doesn’t work somehow very well AND price is worthy ( incl as you say triple a titles available), I won’t buy.. I had it in my fingers last year but 700€ for ps5 vr was to much for only a hand full of titles to play

Only Cyberpunk in VR has made me say wow in a video, although, look out for more of that tomorrow

@@headset-vr6310 I finished it half a year ago and I'm playing it again, I love it. The bad thing is that my card is poor, but even so now I see it much better than before.

It's not something I've ever looked into personally but I guess it could be possible if you mess around with aiming/camera settings. However, that's a question I'd feel would be better asked to the mod creator, rather than myself

@headset-vr6310 got it. I found the answer on reddit by praydog himself saying that there'll be 3d depth in 2d screen mode with one nuance, it should be meta link cable connection to pc. Bigger question is did you get used to floating camera in 3rd person games rather quickly?

@secondthought2 yeah, I've had it in a few games. For me, seeing the world from a different perspective is enough to draw me in. Like a few other games, this, isn't really well suited to 1st person for various reasons

@@headset-vr6310 yea, I got that part about first person mode. But I meant in general playing 3rd person type of game as is In 3rd person. Isn't floating camera behind your character's back a bit weird? Or maybe I'm the problem)

It played perfectly, there’s a 6dof profile I'm using and it feels VERY immersive and its the 2nd game in VR after Cyberpunk that blew me away!

my rtx 3050 that can play the game in 1080p ultra, can barely muster 50fps in uevr mode with lowest settings.

I'm sure there's not really going to be a huge difference between the two. If you are thinking of buying one or the other, best advice I'd offer is just to go with whichever suits your budget most personally. Flat performance wise, the XTX would likely edge it though really I think

@@headset-vr6310 I just don't know if it is worth changing my 4070 ti super to XTX; in VR, is it possible to use DLSS technology and an upscaler or not? I've just heard that VR only needs native performance and everything else needs to be turned off?

7900xtx однозначно мощнее (уровень 4080, плюс 24 vram) но из коробки она работать с ВР не будет... Трабли с дровами - решаемо, но заморочек не мало. Также нет DLSS(нынешний ФСР особо не отстает, да и нового железа с каждой новой фичей не требует, но в тех же модах Люка сейчас нет ореолов- спасибо адаптации DLSS, с ФСР все по прежнему. В кратце. 4070 ти- меньше траблеи с дровами, да и в целом Нвидиа ПО лучше реализовано под ВР. 7900xtx -ощутимо больше мощности и памяти (что однозначно хорошо для ВР и особенно для требовательного UEVR )

@@raphsaio5300 значит длсс хорошо работает в vr и сглаживает картинку? или это только в модах Люка а в uevr это не работает? просто я слышал что для вр нужна только сухая мощность видеокарты а все эти апскейлеры и улучшалки нужно отключать ибо сильно портится картинка? если это так то тогда лучше перед покупкой шлема купить RX 7900 XTX ?

@@userVladimir_B На данный момент - только у Люка, но он его прям так основательно под ВР-ку адаптировал. В uevr наоборот, ФСР чуть получше работает, плюс с новым поколением видюх Нвидиа вечно на старое подзабивает и привязывает новые фичи к новому железу, ФСР ж просто проkачивают без привязки k железy - что большой плюс. Но опять же - ПО. Через VD у меня 7900 на отлично работает, а вот с Аирлинк и Стеам Линк дружить отказывается, и всё. Kвесты кстати и без ПK вполне неплохи - полноценная игровая консоль.

Yeah i just ran it normally, didn't do anything fancy at all. Did you try both versions of UEVR?

@@headset-vr6310 Can confirm it works with Nightly! However, the performance was pretty bad, even with my 4080 GPU. Not surprising since the game seems a bit badly optimized to begin with. And also the menus and UI was hard to deal with in VR so I think I will play this one flatscreen. One weird thing though; After I injected with UEVR, a new VR option appeared in the Graphics setting at the bottom. Some sort of experimental thing. When I tried changing the options there the menu disappeared and it started lagging badly so I didn't find any use for it.

It was flawless for me when I played it yesterday. Never seen anything so good in my headset. Will do another video of it soon as it gave me the bug to play again so will have to do a Netrunner/Monowire build

You have been mis informed a touch I feel. The game worked for me on an RX6600XT, which was the equivalent of a 3060. It worked fine but obviously you don't get as polished a performance or visuals. Naturally, with any game a better quality PC will improve any games performance, but if you do want it looking really good then better hardware is a must. But you don't NEED it, it just makes for a better experience is all. Go by your budget imo, if you can afford to splash out then why not lol? 😂

It was just a test to see how it played really. The FOV suffers a bit so going to see if a mod I found helps. I did mess with the character mesh and if i remember correctly, you could only remove the head. Although I didn't spend loads of time playing about with it as mainly wanted to check out the combat. It looked so good in the headset that I totally forgot about playing with character meshes! Something for the next video at least!

Not a weird question at all. It isn't perfectly accurate, but it was more so in 3DoF than in 6DoF

@@Hypnotoad710 there was an issue with crashes for this that was mentioned in the discord channel. Have you had a look there for a solution at all?

I just followed the installation instructions on github that said to copy the extraced folder into the game directory. Didn't do anything else apart from lowering the graphic settings down somewhat. I've upgraded my GPU since then, so I might have a relook at some point. Also, I did make sure the game was running in openxr rather than SteamVR. I'm not sure if that's what you have done, but that was all I did

Are you using the newest version of the mod? I wasn't in this video and it was the best I've ever had it play. The newest version of the mod is apparently amazing so I've been told and seen. I used to need Oculus mirror to get a decent quality video before, but not any more!

As you said those improvements are for DLSS which doesn't work for AMD cards. Still it looks better than I expected. Last time I tried it with my AMD card , there was too much ghosting around NPC's and other moving objects. Looks like it improved a little bit.

I actually recorded this over a week ago, which was before the latest mod was released. Yes, I was aware there is an update to it, so there no need to advertise it here, but as @mray said, DLSS doesn't have a benefit for my GPU

@@headset-vr6310 It has improved significantly. No more artifacts and jittery effects. This has been confirmed. Its not only DLSS but for FSR AMD which actually just released after for AMD cards also. Its a big improvement. Just letting you know.

As I said, this video was recorded and scheduled prior to the new REAL VR mod update going live. I pre uploaded my Christmas schedule a week in advance so I could take a break

@@headset-vr6310 Well basically I tinkered a bit with the ingame settings, because both native and synched looked like crap. Then I was able to achieve a somewhat decent result, but I've seen better. Some UE games work very well with UEVR, some don't and I think Beyond Hanwell belongs to the latter category. Now in winter holiday I have the time to try as many UE games as I can in UEVR, there are some really good ones and some are a bit disappointing. As far as I experience most issues in UEVR visuals come from certain types of shaders and it doesn't really like raytracing and special light effects either.

​@@headset-vr6310I found a few profiles none of them worked as good as yours. I spent hours messing with it too. But never got working right so I just played in 3rd person.

The instructions for the 1st person mod are on the mod page which I have linked and they are easy enough to follow. The rest of the set up is in the video

Well it's free to start with and not as dependent on having a blockbuster gpu. I played it at various graphic settings (low, medium etc) and it only has a visual impact and I never had any performance issues like I have with some of the game Luke Ross has modded. Although I never actually tried RDR2 with the Luke Ross mod so can't really give a fair judgement other than that really I'm afraid, sorry

You can set up a keybind to disable vr, which will give you 2d cut scenes on the monitor or enable 2d screen mode so its 2d in the headset. Both of these can be set in the Keybinds tab in the uevr menu

I don't have the game on Steam, i use the Rockstar launcher and i use oculus as my runtime, same as what i set up opentrack as so it's not something I'm familiar with I'm afraid
