We have been involved in preparing couples for many years for the Sacrament of Marriage. Even with all of our experience we have learned so much in hearing and seeing the both of you. As a human person we can't always "wear our heart on our sleeve." We also have to make "use" of God's creatures through the grace of God. Martin Buber's I-Thou gives good insight on this subject. So essentially the verb, "to love" is God-oriented and the verb to "to use" is Satan-oriented.
