Glad to see youre inspired again! It kind of sounds like a bad acid trip. Reminds me of a few movies if you wanted more inspo: the shroom scene in Midsommar, the ending of Apostle on netflix, Climax, and Paprika. I think this is a cool concept for a short film because you can really experiment with different techniques and not worry about losing the anxious tone youre trying to achieve.

I'm not by any means a "great" artist but when something I'm replicating just doesn't look right to me, I go back to general shapes and fine tune from there. I found this particularly with drawing pokémon. The art is relative and proportionate which in some ways makes things easier and more challenging. I'm sure you know Grandma's advice.. look at a bunch of different art and examine artist's you likes art. keep up the practice it looks great 🙌💕
