Just a PSA to BOLO for bad drivers.
They're everywhere, and I don't mind putting bad behavior out there. If you don't have one already, get you a dash cam.

GM Kicker install, Part # 19417164 and Kicker Bass knob, part # 46CXARCT in 2024 GMC Sierra Denali
มุมมอง 51K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
I needed an audio upgrade that was easy, and that looked like it belonged in the truck. 200-Watt Subwoofer Kit 19417164 was the part number I needed for the Bose equipped radio. I also wanted the Kicker 46CXARCT control knob for extra bass when I want it, and for turning it down when I don't.

Carticulate 7. GM killing Android Auto and Apple Carplay with their EV's for "safety".

My take on the General Motors move to remove Android Auto and Apple Car Play from their new EV's. They say it's a safety concern, but I don't buy it.
Bouncy shifter in 4th gen Camaro or Firebird? You probably have a bad transmission mount.
มุมมอง 9422 ปีที่แล้ว
These manual transmission cars can easily tear through the OEM transmission mount. If you've noticed your shifter jumping up during acceleration, a new transmission mount is almost always the cure. This is an easy repair, and can be done in under a half hour. I'll take you through every step, explain what we're doing, and even give you the torque specs.

I traded in my old jacks and jack stands for a better combination. In this video, I explain the ingredients that I used to pick out a winner in each category, and we get a good look at some of the features and first impressions. The Harbor Freight Tools 3 ton, Daytona Low Profile Floor Jack was my pick for a better floor jack, and the Daytona 6 ton jack stands won me over too. Watch and compare...

Carticulate 6. How do we tax electric cars? The hidden cost of going electric.
มุมมอง 2153 ปีที่แล้ว
As the numbers of electric cars on the street grow, the tax revenue generated by the outgoing combustion engine vehicles is shrinking. How will we replace the gas tax revenue as it's lost? I speak with a local county commissioner about getting ahead of the problem before it sneaks up on us and catches us before we're ready.
A quick alternator upgrade on a 1991 Trans Am. Saving Sally on the Powermaster Alternator, 57861.
มุมมอง 2K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Changing your alternator on a third gen F body was a right of passage back in the day. These days, it's more of an opportunity to upgrade than a repair only. Swapping the stock 105 amp alternator for a 140 amp upgrade was super easy, and probably took around 20 minutes. I used the Powermaster alternator (model 57861) because it looked great, and the price was right.
White Letter Tires look great on a 1991 Trans Am, but was tire paint it worth it? Saving Sally #10
มุมมอง 25K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Painting the white letters on the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's. I tried the Ranger white wall tire paint, as well as the Ranger rally red. As a bonus, I also tested the white Flex Seal. Did it work? well... sort of... maybe... I think Yellow Flex Seal may be a great option if you want yellow letters, but I didn't test it... I threw in the towel - for now!

Changing the engine temperature sensors on my 1991 Firebird Trans Am. This is a TPI car, so it may be different for the throttle body. Should be the same for the 305 or the 350 for both Firebird and Camaro from 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992.

I can’t believe that they still offer this intake. And it’s just a little over $1,000 which is a bargain for what you are getting. You could Extrude Hone the stock one but Extrude Hone has gotten too big for their britches and charges WAY too much money for the little amount of work that they are doing.
Well done sir. That was a great execution of a DIY video and review.
I dont think you. Cleand tire enough with a degreaser. The sticker company sale a rubber decal the comments on these stickers have been good. They cost like 125.00 so not cheap. There is videos on you tube. It takes you like hour per tire with decreased to even have a chance. It sucks all white letter tires are 15 alot of choices in 15. They won't clear my calipers or I would go to 15. For your car I would have defenitly switch to 15inch
rubber tire stickers + locttite 406 works like a charm
Came here because I got a '24 High Country and wanted to see how easy it was to install. Looks incredibly easy. I am failing to pull the trigger though, because for the price of this kicker kit, you can get something much better, deeper, louder, cleaner, and just adjust it down if you don't want it to knock pictures off the wall. As Example; dual skar 12" enclosure, max 1600 watts, is half the price of the 200 watt kicker kit. However, I know with the Kicker kit, it is considered OEM/option and won't void any warranty. Splicing into a wiring harness with an aftermarket setup and screwing something up is going to be a real expensive mistake. Just hard to make that decision on something that's brand new.
Nice video, dont have a truck at all but whatched the whole thing anyway just in case lol
Hello Saving Sally,,,can I use this clip in my compilation? Any comment what happened? Thanks
Wow The Fluoride Worked On That One See The IQ Lower Than 82 Stupid Yes
hi there, may I feature it ?*
Do these work on the 305?
Awesome, exactly what I wanted to know about these new rims. I'm not planning in buying new wheels for my 87 TransAm, but the 245/50R16 tire sizes here in Europe are near non-existend anymore, and even shopping overseas in the USA the availability is more and more limited (not talking about high shipping cost). And now I've cleaned my wheels they actually look worse then I hoped for. So it's a little bit a financial decision to overhaul the old wheels or buy new ones...
Denali as a work truck? Congrats man.
Just installed in my 24 Denali. Thank you for the idea to modify the original storage tray!!
I shall try White nail polish stolen from my wife but first i will run with sand paper letters for better contact. I think that may work :)
Nothing is going to hold its color. The flex seal is actually a win.
Should of got a skar box with 4 8's and a 150$ 2000 watt amp for the same price . Mine hits so hard it rattles my windshield wipers and i cant use my rear view mirror cause it wont stay up
Does that require second battery
@RajSingh-ec3ey nope
Lol
Cool story bro
$150, 2500 watt amp...doesn't add up. Junk
Hey, what are the odds of you being able to help me source a set of those mesh T/A wheels like that for my 2000 Jimmy. Back in the day, the fad was to have some iroc wheels on your s10 and a friend had some of the gold trans-am GTA wheels on his red s10. Looked amazing. Well, I’ve always wanted a set for my Jimmy that I could paint silver to match the lower paneling of my Jimmy.
Could it be the oil in the rubber tire? That's browning it?
cant believe that speaker is housed and fully enclosed in that plastic casing like that....
I'll keep my "fishing pole" box instead of the speaker.
Your cam Animation was awesome.. but as david vizard has said on a flat tappet camshaft the lifting point is not always perpendicular to the camshaft.. the very edge of the lifter makes contact first.. so it could have more low end acceleration ramp than a roller cam.
Great video, and watching this has made me pull the trigger on purchasing this sub. I recently bought a 2024 sierra 1500 AT4 w/Bose system and I was looking for a simple bass upgrade. GM is running 15% off electronics right now and I had some GMC Reward points, so I was able to get a steal for around $517 instead of $830. Thanks.
How does it sound? I have the same model and feel like something is missing.
great video, great description, well done, thank you
soooo much talking this video could have been 9 minutes shorter....we're hear for solutions ... 9 minutes ill never get back ugh....
Why is it always the passenger side. That is my problem passenger side on my 85Firebird. I'll be doing this soon. Thanks for the full video. Most other videos don't show bushing placement. Thanks
I have 3 TA's and in everyone both sides are f...cked up
The knob won’t raise my headlight to access the bottom bolts. Help lol
Had the same problem. Try turning up headlights from the dash and other guy raising it at the same time
Can this go on just about any gen one block? Or onlh specifically the l98 block i think i remember theres a few differences i might be gaslighting myself though
Scared the hell out of me when you put a drill against the dash, but that is perfect placement for the knob. Will be installing next week but not sure I will put the knob there, maybe in the center console tray below the climate controls.
Why is tire lettering blue? The blue stuff is actually a soap stuff that they put on there to protect the white lettering in transport so it won't get damaged and look as good as it can look when you finally get the tyres on your car.
zinc oxide is thw trick and easy to purchase
Materials and Manufacturing Processes Modern tires are primarily constructed of synthetic black rubber due to the use of carbon black for greater strength and durability. The white writing is created using a specially developed rubber compound coating that resists damage and retains its color over time. BEFORE WHITE LETTERS: WHITE WALLS Many early tire designs used rubber compounds that increased traction by adding zinc oxide. This chemical addition also happened to turn the rubber of the tires white.
Would it work with a non Bose system as well ??
Almost the same part number, slightly different speaker taps. If you don't have the Bose system, you need part # 19417165.
I can’t find 165 part number anywhere on GM website. According to GM my RST refresh uses the 164.
NEVER EVER EVER use those garbage splice connectors on any of your cars. You are asking for lots of electoral issues….
I don't love them, but this video was about using the kit, so I used what was supplied. Good call though!
@@SavingSally 👍🏻
Ha! The electoral issues are gonna be around Nov 5th!! But those connectors are sketchy unless genuine 3M t-taps.
😂
tire manufacturers don’t use a paint they used raise lettering without the black pigment rubber naturally white i’ve seen some guys use a grinder to sidewall of their tire to turn it white
Did you clean the tire area where you painted good. Windex toothbrush. The oil comes from the tire itself.
I'm pretty sure that the stock intake TPI system is from an F body and not a Corvette TPI. Vette's didn't have EGR passages in their aluminum heads, so there wouldn't be an EGR valve on the intake manifold.
My 91 corvette has an egr on the manifold
@deathpunches That may be true, but the Corvette aluminum heads casting 113 for the L98 don't have any EGR passages, so the EGR is routed by tubes. I'm extremely knowledgeable about the F body L98's but not so much of the Vette motors. I've upgraded my Camaro and Firebird engines with the Vette heads for the compression and weight improvements.
What up with Sally the White Trans Am?
You have to wire (brass) brush the area then acetone
do you need to change the computer or use the stock
Perhaps do a test not on rubber. Perhaps it’s the Sun that is causing it to lose colour. How about outdoor furniture spray can?
Did you put this cam in? And any sound clips.
Cool car looks like my 87 formula firebird cheers mate
Been there! 😂😂
I've always been a fan of tire letters.I had it on my last car plus my current car & it truly stands out because not that many people have them, now mine are raised but I must constantly maintain them because they are white & red, but it's well worth it
the tires petrolients seep into the paint over time thats why tires get harder and crack the petrolients get exhausted same thing with fading black plastics you might want to try to put a layer of flex seal down first and then paint that but you said that didnt help as it is rubber like but may last longer
White liquid rubber !!!
Did it work?
@@choppergirl For me, yes !
@@catalinselaru6233A lot of people have trouble with the white paint turning brown or yellow from the oils in the tire... I wonder if you used brown or yellow... or red to start with... if it would do better.. I have a red bike so... red is a possibility.
@@choppergirlNot paint. Liquid rubber. White liquid rubber.
@@catalinselaru6233I saw quite a few vinyl appliques, that are like solid white rubber stripes or patterns, that come on an application sheet (like a transfer tattoo), and then you use rubber cement to glue and fuse them to the tire, much like you would fuse a rubber patch onto a tire with rubber glue (chemical reaction between the two). They're expensive though... you can get them in custom letters and different colors, patterns, or white wall stripes. I might buy a quart of liquid rubber and try it out, or look around for a strip of pure white rubber waterproofing seals that could be fused with a rubber cement chemical reaction. A strip of thin pure white rubber should not be too impossible to find, and then it's just a matter of fusing it to the tire and cutting it to length, and testing out if it stays on at 100mph. You'd get crisper line edges with a strip of solid silicone rubber seal strips real I'm thinking.
Saving an old Trans Am is my dream 😎
5:45 - the specs here don't make sense to me: the spacer is listed as 1/4" but then also says it's 1" wide but neither of these match the 16mm positive offset of the original rear wheels. Also how do they have 3 different dimensions - I would have expected a diameter and a width or depth...
You realize your phone android and apple, all track and sell your data right? Don’t get me wrong, there’s other good arguments against the removal of android auto and CarPlay, but had some misses.
Sure, but my point is that the line must be drawn somewhere. The last thing we need is more "big data".
you do KNOW other car companies charge for heated seats? yes it is dumb and a money drag BUT GM is not the only one doing this you seam to want to just BAD mouth GM...
OH I dont like the radio system in ANY car! I always get a aftermarket system! even if I have to mount it some othe place because these NEW cars have made it almost if NOT impossible now...... then I can get the APPLE car play...
I've always liked GM. In fact, I currently own 3 GM vehicles, and have owned a total of 11 GM vehicles over the years. The whole point of this video was to "badmouth" an unpopular move being made by GM, so yeah - guilty I guess, but you must have missed the part where I specifically mentioned Mercedes, BMW and Toyota beginning at 6:44.
Mercedes did the opposite as GM is proposing. They offered their high priced option infotainment system with their homegrown GPS and other systems which I had optioned in numerous previous cars. It was good for a factory system. Then they started offering the CarPlay (I assume Android as well but we are an Apple family) system which was standard. Has the screen and normal vehicle systems but uses CarPlay for the Nav and it doesn’t require the $1500 Nav option. The dealer even said it was the better option to use the CarPlay as the factory Nav isn’t worth the package price. Instead of just sticking with the already ingrained and established nav and infotainment they gave a standard (no upcharge) option that was better than the factory packages Nav that they have to license from Apple and Google.
