Got caught on the wrong side on this one. I wanted to shoot the sunny side of this train, and I was planning on it not blocking the crossing so I could cross over and get the other train going south. Didn't work out. Plus, the conductor warned the approaching train that a "foamer" was at the crossing shooting video. I guess she thought I might climb through her train to get to the other side. I...

The 57 works Wickes south control point to shove 39 cars into the siding. Adding to the 20 already there. I heard on the radio they were going to do this, so hiked in for an up-close look. Radio talk, car banging, automatic switch movement and Ben blasting off for DeSoto This was a fun one. Hope you enjoy.

Southbound NS empty rock train going fast at Riverside and then a southbound loaded coal on the river Sub at Pevely by Sun Valley. Notice that small bridge flexing as the heavy loads roll over it. I just found that interesting to watch.

Weve seen this move before but, i liked the late afternoon lighting. It was bright and sunny with the sun low in the sky making for unique lighting and long shadows. A lot of good radio talk and a couple roaring motors at the end. Have a good weekend fellas !

UP rock train at Riverside with a nice horn salute. A BNSF all gondolas on the River Sub and some motors being moved around Dupo by what looks like remote control. That day at Dupo I kept missing the trains. I wouldn't stay in one spot and when you move of course that is when the trains show up.

Spent six hours at DeSoto Wednesday watching and waiting. Not sure about this one. If you like slow paced yard action with radio talk, car banging, throttling up and down, then watch. The 72 works cars in the yard, then the 57 shows up. The 57 cuts the train at the north end of the yard. Goes in to shove out the cars to the south end of the yard that are going back north, then runs back to pick...

The 57 drops 57 cars at Wickes siding. I then caught it coming back from DeSoto to work Riverside and meet a BNSF rock train headed south for Iron Mountain.

Caught the southbound at Crystal City, then the mixed freight at Pevely by Sun Valley. How about the sick horn the coal train.

Just a simple run by, but sometimes simple can say a lot.

First catch of UP local 62 which brings cars to Riverside by way of the BNSF trackage from ST. Genevieve carrying cars from Mississippi Lime. I caught it at Crystal city after it had left Riverside after meeting up with the 57 for a car swap. The BNSF tanker was caught about a mile south of the Lindenwood BNSF yard in south St. Louis.

Caught the 57 leaving Riverside siding and returning to Riverside siding from DeSoto.

Spent a few hours hanging out and it was busy. It was raining off and on. Get a cup of coffee and enjoy some long slow trains.
