I am here to share some honest gear reviews of equipment that I use myself. We will also be filming some hunts in the near future. We will be discussing everything from camera gear, shooting gear, hunting gear, different hunts, fishing gear, etc. I also visit several state and national parks around Texas and the US.

Do you carry your rifle attached to the bag? I have the pop up 40 and I’m trying to figure out a way to not carry it on my shoulder the whole hunt. Thanks
What is the muzzle velocity of this round from the 18’ barrel?
This is a great idea, thanks for sharing. Happen to remember where you purchased those buckles?
Carbon Locked ever?
@pd5156 not to this day. It now lives on my 18" spr. It shoots atleast one precision match per month, plus I've been also shooting 3 gun with it. Typically at 3 gun I run it un-suppressed at the stages under 100 yards and shoot 55s. Then when I know I have a far stage I run it suppressed with 77s. It's zeroed with the can and 77s, though 55s run like .1 mil off at 200 yards so it's typically not a big deal.
@@hunterhiker6101 Thanks.

Where did you get the gate keepers from? Where can I get them?
chapter 3: pop up vs hitler
good run man. one of these days ill catch a 2 gun there at TGC. ive been hooked on the USPSA matches
Can I buy your MR overload backpack?
Definately gonna need a spotter!
Where can you find those buckles?
I just got the pop up 28 and now I’m wishing I had got the Pintler. Should I sell and buy the Pintler on the guide lite frame or try and buy the Pintler bag only to put on the pop up frame? I really like your conversion.
@hunterhiker. Do you think this would work the same with a Sawtooth 45 bag?
I would imagine. I sorta half asked tried on my buddy's beartooth and it worked. I didn't hook it all the way up but it looks the same attachments as everything else. I did that before I ordered the pinter.
Is that the 5.56 77gr or the 223 77gr from freedom munitions?
It'd the 224 Remington version.
223 remington****
I honestly want to go down to Temple one day and participate in one of these matches, but I am confused about gear. Do you think they would allow someone to run this match using USGI Surplus ALICE gear?
Man, they don't care what you use as long as it.is safe. Last match there was a guy running a rodosian surplus AK rig, AK with irons, flap type holster with a 9x18 Makarov. Looked like he was straight from surplus Russia lol
Thanks for this! I have a pop up 28 and was disappointed at the possibility of not being able to use other bags on it.
Any updates? I just ordered a MK9 and not finding much on it.
Sold the rifle off a long time ago, but this muzzle device was solid. I dk if it did much on the 16" barrel but I really liked it either way. The small.holes will plug quickly but that doesn't really matter. Just a lot of carbon in 9mm
@hunterhiker6101 thanks. I'm not gonna lie I mostly want it for looks and didn't want a brake so leiner compensator was best option I think. Going on my s&w fpc with a 18.6" barrel
I cannot believe that you can fire 101 aks at the same time
Can you link that stick it?
Dude I'll sell it to you! I went to a blackjack and can't use it.
@@hunterhiker6101 Dame id be interested in that pack as well
Hey man, I'm actually selling it!
@@hunterhiker6101Still selling?
@ReinForce007879 yep! I slapped it on my 3dap but don't really use it
Got my Pintler bag today. Super happy with this modification this bag is far better than the Pop Up 28. My 28 bag sold super fast on eBay and offset the cost of the Pintler bag nicely. Thanks again for this video!
@James Cook yes, but have not truly vetted it in real world conditions yet. I think it will perform fine as I have used it around my house, but want to be transparent that I have not used it in the deer woods. I have also purchased a Mule bag that I have modified for light travel days.
Great video! Couple questions; does the meat shelf still work with the pintler? Also, since the pop up has its exclusive frame do you think there will be a market to sell them so I can recoup some funds to buy the pintler? Thanks!
So I sold my pop up 38 bag to someone, then I actually sold that bag to the guy that commented below. I'd actually check the newer pop up 40. That looks super cool.
@@hunterhiker6101 Agreed the 40 looks good but it would be much cheaper for me to put the Pintler on the pop up frame, especially if I could sell my 28 bag. I assume the 28 and 38 use the same frame? Also, have you put a load in the meat shelf to see how it well it works? Thanks so much.
@djabel422 yes I carried a 50lb corn sack in there. Works just fine. And yes the 28 and 28 both use the same frame! Where you see a difference in size is the waist belt and in the yoke.
@@hunterhiker6101 Thank you! I had no real idea how big or small the 28 was when I bought it, now having it I wish I had some more space. I think I am going to give the Pintler mod a try as long as I can sell my 28 bag. Again, thanks your video was so helpful.
Did you have any damage to that Taurus Tracker after firing the 357magnum Buffalo Bore ammo out of it like any cracks in the frame or forcing cone or the cylinder?
Nope. I mean I've only shot like 10 rounds through it. It's just for bear protection. I normally shoot my reloads which are 158gr xtp or American eagle 158jsp. Then A LOT of 38 special.
This dude is legit! Just bought this bag off of this fine gentleman!
where did you get buckles do you have link
What's the round count? I'm planning to make the January match.
Typically 6 stages, usually a cap of 10 rounds per stage. Some of them have a few more like 12. We are allowed to zero and what not prior but I don't always. I'd say tops of 75rd.
@@hunterhiker6101 one more question, is there a par time?
@@evansocks 2 minutes typically.
Have you had any issues with the snap coming undone when loaded done with gear and or hauling meat?
I haven't hauled meat with this but I do have a bunch of crap it in like a couple.hundred rounds of 556, 2 tripods, shooting bags, spotter, water, etc. And ot didn't have any issues. I really like these buckles
Are you rocking a factory recoil spring weight or did you have to go lighter to run this comp reliably?
I didn't have to change anything in a gen 3 26 or a gen 3 19. It ran just fine.
@@hunterhiker6101 awesome! Good to know! Thank you!
Loving the slow-motion action in this video. 👍💪
Thanks! I really need to do a better Jon explaining vs just posting a video.
How do you like the turbo k? Is it holding up?
I gotta be honest I love this little can. I'd like to have another one or a turbo t2. If the turbo is even quieter that's awesome. It pretty muche lives on my 14.5 now.
I've never seen anyone run a drill like that with a bipod, and with what I'm guessing tatical pillows?.....but who am I to judge? Your shooting and enjoying it so, more power to you!
It's not a drill. I'm shooting a precision match. This match went to 500yd, I'm not sure what the ranges were on this one, but I think 200-300 on some small ish targets. I think we may have been shooting 1.5 moa targets.
So I'm going a little slower and focusing on hits, vs something like running a vtac barricade or shooting 2 gun/3gun. In those matches there are no pillows and no bags/bipod. But I typically smoke the lr stages. I think everyone else here was shooting a bolt gun with a much better caliber than .223.
Nice shooting
Also wonder if it has changed since this guys review th-cam.com/video/9kjUo2y4opE/w-d-xo.html
What are you using to mount rifle to the arca plate on ball head.....
I have one on the way. Are you still liking it? Going on my p80 g19
I am! It just dirties the light onba tlr7
@@hunterhiker6101 thats what I figured. I also have a tlr-1 hl in fde so that should be fun. Probably should have stuck with the black
@@g-townarmory6858 itll make it look cool! Atleast on the tlr1 the light should be out past so it will dirty the body not the lense. I mean i can still ahoot a couple hundred rounds then just wipe it off. Just something to note because its more of a muzzle brake sending gas 360 vs a comp which ahoots it up.
How are you liking it?
I like it a lot. I actualy sold off this 26 slide and got another 19 slide. So i am running a 26frame, 19 slide, with BCA threaded barrel and micro carry comp. It is much more pleasant to shoot with hotter ammo (1180fps 124gr) and duty loads. I dont notice much of a difference shooting 115gr HAP with 4gr titegroup.
@@hunterhiker6101 what gen slide and frame? Gonna be my exact setup but I have a gen 3 slide.
@@salty_terminal_civilian5374 gen 3 slide and frame. I actually sold off this slide. I now use the gen 3 g26 frame with a gen 3 g19 slide. I'm using the lone wolf gen 3 to 4 dust cover. To cover the end of the spring on the longer slide.
@@hunterhiker6101 dude. I just bought a gen 3 26 frame for my 19 slide and on a whim bought the gen 3-4 dust cover. I assumed the gen 4 would work cause all the frames are the same on the 26. That’s awesome, same setup. How do you like it?
@@salty_terminal_civilian5374 I really like it. I like the g26 frame better. On my chopped 19 frame I do have the grip force adapter. Something about the lil swell on the 26 frame just points a little easier.
Looks like you did better on that stage than I did.
Nice one, looking to buy the Mini King Comp as well
It's nice. I think I may try some type of 2 port brake next. However I'm not sure the muzzle brake does much. I'd spend more money playing with the recoil system (buffer). I'm shooting a spikes spacer, carbine spring, and 5.5oz buffer here. I have an armaspec in my rifle right now. I am going to do a video on that soon.
@@hunterhiker6101 But now I'm looking at the VG6 Epsilon. It has a combo of 3 devices, muzzle brake, compensator, and flash hider.
@@Jebusite100 so does the king comp just FYI. It has ports on the top to compensate, side baffles for recoil, and prongs at the end for flash suppression. I'd like to get to the range at night to see if it does anything
@@hunterhiker6101 Yeah, you should do a flash test at night. One test with muzzle device on, one test with muzzle device off
Looks pretty good man thanks good video
Amazon has a green version of your tripod just saw that no painting $109.00 no discount like the red one has!!!
Definitely a better deal on the red one I really just looking for a tripod that I can shoot prone with
@@ianprice2441 yeah I got the red one it was normally like 100 or something and they had a flash sale so I got it. For 80. Sprayed the red tan. I'm liking it a lot. Share my page with friends as I try to do more gear reviews. I can take a better video prone with it
Can either one of them use short shaft for prone shooting?
See my follow up video. With the ball head its a little tall for prone. If you remove the ball head and mount the pig saddle or triclawps directly to the tripod, it will work a little better.
Thanks for the quick video update 👍
