Climbing my HIGHEST MOUNTAIN | Lake District Hiking
Hello TH-cam!
Today you join me for a brand new adventure in the Lake District, England's largest National Park!
In this video, I embark on my toughest challenge yet: climbing Skiddaw, England’s 6th highest mountain! I also take in 3 other Wainwrights; Skiddaw Little Man, Lonscale Fell & Latrigg, to bring my total to 7 Wainwrights!
The views were stunning, finding myself above, and sometimes inside, the clouds!
This video is a continuation of a new playlist on my channel, Walking the Wainwrights, where I'll chart my (likely slow) progress in my goal to visit all of the Wainwrights.
This is my final video in the Lake District, before I head back down to my beloved Dartmoor, but what an adventure it’s been! I can’t wait to come back and summit some more mountains!
Chapters:
00:00 - Latrigg
06:18 - Climbing Skiddaw
18:16 - Skiddaw Little Man Summit
30:08 - Skiddaw Summit
38:00 - Climbing Lonscale Fell
43:28 - Lonscale Fell Summit
44:47 - Descending the mountain
48:26 - Outro - Thanks for watching!
Hiking Gear used in this video:
Quechua NH100 Hiking Shoes
Lowe Alpine Airzone Trail ND 24l backpack
Karrimor Panther hiking trousers
OEX stainless steel Double Walled Insulated hiking flask 750ml
If you enjoy videos about hiking, budget hiking gear reviews and wild camping, please consider subscribing to my channel! I post hiking content once a week.
Thank you so much for watching, and for your support and, as always, I hope you enjoyed watching the video as much as I enjoyed making it!

Hello TH-cam! Today you join me for a brand new adventure in the Lake District, England's largest National Park! What am I doing in the Lake District, I hear you ask. Well, I'm embarking on my biggest challenge yet and climbing my first ever mountain... Catbells! And once I've climbed that one, I'm climbing two more; Maiden Moor and High Spy. I even made a couple of small detours to Blea Crag a...
The BEST Alltrails walk? | EPIC VIEWS in Kent
มุมมอง 14321 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hello TH-cam! Today, I’m taking you on a walk I found using the Alltrails hiking and walking app. It’s a beautiful loop walk called The Lullingstone Circular, and it can be found in the Epic Views category on the app. In today’s video, we’ll be visiting the charming little English village of Shoreham, learning the meaning behind the name, and the strange and quirky tradition of the village. Aft...
Chasing the Sunset in my NEW Hiking Boots
มุมมอง 187หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello TH-cam! Today you join a slightly annoyed Dave making my way up to West Mill Tor. I’d been stuck in traffic for the best part of an hour getting home from work, so I had to race up to West Mill Tor to try to catch the sunset… but will I make it in time? I’m also testing my new winter hiking boots, the Karrimor Mount Mid 9… Brown Edition (I like saying that!) The Karrimor Mount Mid 9s are ...
Heltor Rock & Blackingstone Rock - Hiking on Dartmoor
มุมมอง 307หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello TH-cam! Today, I’m taking you to two of the most famous rocks on Dartmoor; Blackingstone Rock and Heltor Rock. We’ll climb a staircase for heavenly views, hear about an Arthurian legend, and see two stunning rocks, one of which (Heltor Rock), is another tor on my Tour of the Tors! It’s a beautiful, sunny September morning, but very cold! The video I mentioned from @thedartmoorpodcast abou...
Quechua NH100 Hiking Shoes (Review) - The BEST Budget Hiking Shoe?
มุมมอง 718หลายเดือนก่อน
Hello TH-cam! Today, I’m taking a look at my Quechua NH100 Hiking Shoes from Decathlon. These are a budget, entry-level hiking shoe from Decathlon, but can they really be as good for hiking as hiking boots? Well this is my (nearly) 1 year review - I’ve owned them about 18 months - so I’ll be looking at how they’ve held up so far and discussing the pros and cons of these budget shoes that only c...

I’m a new viewer - amazing video! You captured the beauty so well and your excitement was infectious. I recently visited the lakes for the first time and have been missing it, and this took me right back. Looking forward to catching up on the rest of your channel!
@@MollyRuns aww thank you so much! The camera doesn’t do it justice, it was stunning! My usual location is Dartmoor, where the views are very different but no less beautiful! Thank you for watching 😊

@@markward6387 Hi Mark, I’m glad to hear it! The views are well worth the climb (especially Blea Crag, my favourite view on that walk), tough going but if you’ve done Catbells you can do those as well 🙌🏻 Let me know how you get on! Thanks for watching!

I loved this, that route is on my list. You can drop down at High Spy and head into Borrowdale. Camp at Chapel farm and then head off into the Langstrath/Langdale valleys or up to say High Raise for a great circular and then get the bus back to Keswick. Thanks for a great vid, I'm off to watch some more now. Cheers
@@camping_guru_uk thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video! It was a stunning route, can’t recommend it highly enough! Already looking forward to my next time in the Lakes, it was stunning! And one more video to come this week from this trip 🙌🏻 Thabks for watching!

@@mama_morgan aww, thank you so much!
Another great video, Random question, how comfortable would you say you pack is for that kind of climb?
@@dragonmediaxl thank you! This backpack is very comfortable, it’s the Lowe Alpine Airzone Trail ND. Only a 24l backpack but feels like it can hold a good amount and it feels as though it sits nicely on my back. Plus the waist strap takes some of the weight off of my shoulders and disperses it to my hips which helps make it more comfortable
Call that a hike. I get more of a hike coming home from work. Or just going to the shops here in Scotland. A hike should have a hill or two in it. That flat piece of land is just a walk..😏🤷🏻♂️🏴
Beautiful!
I was hit in the face by a stray golf ball at the Plymouth driving range 😂 Great video 🤙🏼
