The TJPDC is a regional planning agency that offers a broad range of services in the areas of transportation, community development, housing, economic development, land-use/planning, environmental programming, as well as legislative services. The TJPDC is home to the region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and coordinates a wide variety of short-range and long-range urban and rural projects.
Rural Tech Committee - October 15, 2024
The Rural Transportation Advisory Committee (RTAC), is an advisory group for the TJPDC’s Rural Transportation Planning Program. The RTAC includes individuals with technical knowledge in transportation and land use matters. The region’s five counties (Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson) are represented on the Committee, through the local planning director. VDOT, RideShare and JAUNT also have voting representatives.

The MPO Technical Committee consists of planning staff from State agencies and local departments, to provide a technical perspective to transportation. The Committee reviews and develops plans for consideration by the MPO Policy Board. It analyzes proposals for technical feasibility and can help implement proposals after adoption by the MPO or a locality.

It seems they are trying to decide how to provide services before deciding what services to provide to whom for what. To solve fa problem you should first define the problem.
Has the TJPDC moved from being a planning agency to being an advocacy group for developers? Is it now advocating that a locality should provide housing for any and every body who wishes to move there at the price they can afford of the type they wish in the particular location they wish to live.
Thanks for sharing and Is there any new article about this subject? Because I’m looking for successful regional housing strategies witch is rare
