Bird Roost by Drone

A good example of how flying cameras are a good tool to study wildlife, or in this case, a purple martin pre-migratory roost. Filmed by Larry Melcher of Kentucky. This was the first year for the roost located at West Point Kentucky. 2014 The camera was not moved once it reached it's altitude of about 150 feet. Staying in one place did not alarm the birds.

First video of us wakeboarding. These should get better with practice. I do not own the music by Aerosmith. I was in the boat filming. I own the flying camera and make my own videos and 14mpixel photos.
Nice footage. I'll have to get a drone one day. The Red River Gorge area is one of my favorite places to hike.

Thank you for this. When I was in my early 20s friends and would drive down from northern KY to camp and rappel at the gorge. Spent a lot of time at the Daniel Boone national forest when I was a kid. I miss KY.

Omg, wonderful video! Gorgeous view. I'm from Lexington & my parents took us to Natural Bridge's park a couple of times. I can remember loving the views & wilderness, but then being terrified while walking on the natural bridge! It was so high up & I was so little. My cousin was much younger than me & he was walking so close to the edge, which scared me even more, lol. I was just reminiscing about that, so I looked for a video to see the bridge again, now. I was not disappointed! Awesome video, Larry. :) Thanks for sharing it. <3

Went there for the first time just a few days ago. Its like paradise out there. In this world of being charged for everything, I'm glad that this is one of the most beautiful free things to get away to. Away from cities and noise.

I Thought that they don't let you fly drones in this park .... I'm gonna take mine this year :)
Well they can’t say any thing bc it is a state park not a federal park. As long as your drone is reregistered with the faa and your are not in a federal restricted aerospace or within 5 miles of an air port, the sky is all yours!

Larry, I really like this video of Chimney Top Rock. I visited this location in October 2014 as a storm was approaching with high winds. The power of the dark clouds during my visit was breathtaking. You perspective video is great. Thanks for sharing. .
Very Nice. I enjoyed watching your copter videos. Are you going to do any in the snow? I don't even know if its open when it snows, but Bernheim with snow would be fascinating to see.
