No problem! Keep in mind this video was made before the tire model change. What that means is brake at the yellow marker between the 1 and 2 board and brake around 60% initially. I found for this years Daytona 24, on full endurance fuel I was doing the chicane in 4th and the remaining 2/3 of a tank I was taking it in 5th.

Hi there! The headset was the HP Reverb G2. The headset was solid but in 2024 there are better offerings. Right now the Meta Quest 3, PSVR2, and Pimax Crystal Light are my top 3 headsets below $800. What headset do you have?

Hi there! The reason this looks so good is due to a few factors. 1. I’m capturing the replay after the fact in one 1440p window. This allows me to run iRacing at very high setting a keep the frame rate smooth for replay capture. 2. When I’m editing the footage I’m also color grading and upscaling. This significantly improves the image. iRacing is severely limited on high resolution rendering performance due to its single threaded render process. That means that even the 14900KS will bottleneck an RTX4090 due the iRacing’s current rendering engine. The good news is iRacing is currently building a new modern graphics engine that should address this issue. I’m running VR using an overclocked 13700k and RTX4080 and I still run pretty conservative settings to guarantee I’ll be locked in at 90fps in all situations. My recommendation, disable cockpit mirrors (only use the virtual mirror) and set draw cars to 20. You’ll see a massive fps improvement.

Yeah, that’s the challenge using a graphics engine from 2007. Considering how old it is, I’m kind of impressed that it looks as good as it does. There are two sides to every coin. When the new graphics engine drops just remember that more eye candy = lower FPS. That’s why those trying to run 1440p or 4k triples in ACC struggle. Unreal Engine utilizes modern hardware better but it also takes significant power to render at high frame rates.

@@clevelandbeemersimsports true but with DLSS and DLA and Frame Gen I have 0 issue running everything on max and still having 144FPS on 7900X3D and 4080 :)

Hi there, thanks for watching! Typically I record the cockpit view for the main but the super long dash of the Cruze didn’t make for a good viewing experience. So I chose to pull the roof cam instead. As for VR recording, yep recording live from VR is a PITA. So I capture the race replay after the race which is how I’m able to get all these angles.

🤦🏽‍♂️ I had the Lotus 98T stuck in my head.

I’ve run the Nordschleife in the rain and in all lighting conditions (I’ve done at least 3 N24’s) and can still see the asphalt color change. 👍🏼 You can always brake just after the right curb ends.

That part of the asphalt is always darker no matter time of day its darker tarmac I always use that as my braking point :)
