Star Wars VHS home release (1984) - first 5 minutes
This is a digital capture of the first five minutes that play on the CBS/ FOX VHS (1984) release of the original 'Star Wars' movie (1977). The original VHS tape is based off of the theatrical re-release of Star Wars (1981), hence the title 'Episode IV: A New hope' being included.
Obviously, I don't own 'Star Wars.' It was created by George Lucas and Lucasfilm, now owned by 'Disney' for better or for worse.

I decided to explore the Prizm Mall located in Primm, Nevada on the border of California and Nevada. As of March 2023, the mall is open to the public, however not many people go inside. This gives the mall a creepy and unreal atmosphere that I wanted to capture on a camcorder to add to the effect. In the Empire Strikes Back, Leia, Chewy, and Lando are about to make a jump to hyperspace only to discover that, once again, the hyperdrive motivator is still damaged. In this scene, the hyperdrive failure sound effect has an extra tone added to the original failure sound effect, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere, so I decided to recreate it the best I could.
