I'm considering a climber, never been in one. When properly set is the foot platform supposed to be set at an upward angle away from the tree, or does the platform sit level? I know it depends on tree diameter and all that.

Im debating between the mini viper and the open shot..i like the mobility you get with the open shot but i also want some comfort for long days..and i like the cushioned back support and arm rests on the viper..i know they are both great options and only about a 3 lb diffrence..it looks like climbing is effortless with the viper you can lean back on the rail and take all your wheight off to pull up your base..vs the open shot you are using more upperbody strength while you bring up the base..im young and in good shape due to playing sports my whole life but i can see how that may affect a older hunter with the open shot model..whats your take on the 2..im hoping someone that has experienced the 2 can help me close my decision..thanks for the review

To get the knobs in I used a a hammer...lol That gave enough pressure to get them in the holes...lol

Summit slipits lol 😂😂😂 yeah , using these stands better hope it's a pine tree you have to climb & not a hardwood .... If they would put the spike teeth back on their platform from the older stands would make them great stands ... I have to say that API Grandslam has them beat on & not only that but API uses chains which don't get frayed like the cables do ... Just my 2cents

Check out the bog death grip tripod. great for kids, my son used it when he started at 7 years old and is 5/5 on doe with a cva youth single shot .243. Were stepping up to 6.5 Creedmoor at age 12, he can hit a 6" steel plate every time at 350 yards. We also have the 30/30 ready. Good shootin kids.

I think it's one of the best still in 2024 I have mine stealth striped with a hazmore seat an bow holder hooked it up to an xop carrying backpack and I easily take it miles into the woods for my hunts

I have a Summit Sentry SD. It is open front and has a flip up mesh seat. I ordered a Hazmore net seat, and it’s made the stand shine. And very compact and lightweight.
