    I realize your video on TM Gloire line was 3 years ago but I was lucky to find a used SiM Gloire 5w 18* mixed in with other demo woods. As you mentioned, some folks just don't know much about them. I was at Roger Dunn Golf Shop looking for a replacement to an old 5w I broke, hit the used Gloire in the hitting bay and was floored at how well I hit it. Went to purchase it and the cashier knew a little bit about it and said the club was mispriced at $100 and should have been $199. Realized I purchase a lot of equipment there and gave me the $100 price. Played twice with it--easily 230-245 yards. Now on the hunt for a 3w and Driver. Currently have a TM Stealth driver but curious to see what I can do with an MGloire or SiM Gloire.

    Went to Fukuoka, they have pga superstore and golf partner too. The golf partner at Fukuoka airport is much cheaper there, you can check it out when you arrive, drop by at departure area. Really big discount compared to city golf partner branch. Also, if you what to get more discounts, you can go to some premium outlets nearby… they have taylormade, callaway, Bridgestone golf etc!!! Super cheap stuff!

    Cool video I bought one from my 2nd golf seller in Thailand. Was $90 and in ok condition. Didn’t know the face was composite. Have the same shaft. Total weight is light, 281g, but swing weight is high, D4.2 with the long 46.5-46.75 length. Might swap shafts to compare. Unfortunately there is only one small weight port, not sure if it is adjustable Japanese love the latest golf gear at premium prices.

    Sorry for the necropost, but I am in the market for new irons, and have just made myself aware of Japanese clubs. I am, let us say, in the "seasoned" target market for XXIO, and have indeed included them in clubs that I want to try, together with the Srixon ZX Mk 2's and the Mizuno Hot Metals. I'd definitely like to add to this list. I have a question, though. How can one tell where clubs are actually made (not just assembled)? I know that many high end forged clubs are made in Japan, but what about "lesser" clubs for us lesser golfers? I read somewhere, I believe on My Golf Spy, that they received clubs from "a very prominent Japanese brand" that had "Made in China" on the head and on the shaft. Now I have been told that even some JDM spec clubs are not even made in Japan. Scouring the internet and emailing manufacturers without getting anywhere makes me believe that this must be a question for which I don't have the required security clearance! I also have just discovered your channel, and look forward to doing a lot of catching up!

    I have been playing Mizuno MP 69s since 2011. I am a 10 HC. I tried the XXIO forged and demoed the 7 iron, I gained 15 yards on my mizunos. While Mizuno feel is buttery as we all know theses forged XXIOs are pretty close but more fogiving.

I recall one of their 3 woods being very nice, and quite long, but I don't know if I should try and hunt down that old model or just go with a new model if its similar.

    • @TheGaijinGolfer
      @TheGaijinGolfer ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know that I agree with that. Many Americans have no problem dropping several hundred to thousands of dollars for a Scotty Cameron putter or PXG clubs (when they first name out). As I've learned more, I think it's a lack of knowledge. A lot of people just aren't familiar with Japanese brands. Also many Japanese brands don't market here in the US because competition with TaylorMade, Callaway, etc. is so tough.

    Recently found your channel and love all of the content! I'm starting to get really into Japanese golf brands and was looking to start building a bag full of Japanese clubs. In one of your previous videos, you had mentioned golfpartnerusa but I had question about their ordering process from your experience. In your orders have you had to pay for any customs fees or anything like that when the item arrives in the US? I've frankly never ordered anything from overseas before online so don't really know about the whole process. I live in Indiana so it has quite a way to travel from one of the ports it would be received from so was just curious! Looking forward to future videos! Maybe a backstory video about Yonex 😉

    Great video. What shaft flex did you use and did it feel compatible with other brand shafts? From a flex perspective. I was told the Japanese shafts were more flexible so if I'm using a regular flex shaft with 85 - 95 speed, I should use a Stiff Japanese shaft. Thank you.

    Thanks for the review, I was contemplating having a spare GI set for periods I dont strike well consistently. Came across a local shop in Bangkok that does JDM 2nd hand clubs n saw these irons. Did more research n are quite similar to T400 but a fraction of the price. Only curious part being lofts of 5&6 irons only 2 deg stronger from the 7i 26deg (T400 3 deg stronger at 20&23 deg). What would be the distance gap for yourself from 5 to 7 irons if I may ask brother since just 2deg difference? Continue the good work ps has sub n like this vid btw
