Fairmont Butte by Lancaster Poppy Fields. A Long Range FPV Experience

Fair weather in southern California perfect for FPV flying. After a series of storms that brought much needed rain, showers and snow it was time to pack my FPV gear and head to the outdoors.
The skies were decorated with contrails of passing jetliner aircrafts.
I shot this video in one single reel, so I had enough time to explore the area from above. I'm anticipating a super bloom of poppy and wildflowers during springtime, now that the soil is moist and soft. I will return to this place by then.
I had time also to admire the consumer drone technology we have available now. Drone FPV Long Range flying is exhilarating, requires attention and good planning. I hope viewers enjoy and take this time to contemplate the beauty of the high deserts in southern California.

The first flight of the day with my REKON 5 FPV Drone didn't end as planned!!! With today's 12/28/2020 FAA anooncement on Remote ID final rule, although at first impression some of the requirements pre-stablished in the NPRM were removed, this final rule insists on national security reasons and airspace safety for its ruling, yet no safety analysis or studies are presented to support such stringent conditions.

My tenth flight with my brand new BetaFPV TWIG XL 3" didn't end well. I found a defective crimping in the VTX antenna, it came loose and ejected. I replaced it, and when I plugged the battery the little thing caught on fire.
