Forgive the question from someone who has never had a lesson in her life but still loves to try to play nonetheless, I know it’s more than just about hitting the right notes for the right length of time at the right moment. It seems like the way you strike the keys factors into how it sounds. I know part of my issue is I’m just not super proficient at chords; I still have to “think” about it. Like when you are learning a foreign language and at first you are still thinking in your first language and translating, but eventually as you become fluent, you almost start to just think in the second language? So I know I’m thinking too hard and it messes up my flow, but I’m also looking at the way your are holding your hands and hitting the keys. So to my actual question - why do you sometimes hit the keys more towards the top of the key while other times it’s more towards the edges? And then right around 0:47 I can’t tell if it’s the angle, but it looks like you are hitting the same key (left hand) with both pinkie and ring fingers. Is this the case? If so, why? Does it help in some way? Love this, and I think the way you churn these arrangements out is amazing. I started learning the “official” arrangement, but then switched to yours because it just has more “layers” or a richer sound to it. Not sure the technical terms. However, I’m finding it hard to retrain my muscle memory for certain parts so it’s turning more into a mash up, but oh well!!
