Wow. You were slaying em. that one 4.5 pounder was a lunker and a half. Great job.
were you using just the regular size brush hog? great video!
@@jeremyweller755 this was the baby brush hog but I do use the full size during summer months or when they seem to want a bigger profile.
Love the video man. Keep god in your video. Breath of fresh air
Thank you for watching and absolutely.
Looks like You're back in texas
It’s old content from before I left
@@fishboydyl i know you wouldn't be wearing long sleeves it's hot there.
I know you are.
I finally got to try my swerve just a few days ago. I'm in Italy and it was a mess getting them because Bass Pro Shop doesn't accept payments with non-American cards and doesn't ship here 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻. A friend of mine brought them to me and although I tried them with a heavy pike setup I saw that they swim great. I can't wait to try them with the right setup 💪🏻🎣
So it has a good action?
Totally agree 👊🏻🎣
I hate snakes also
You ain’t lying they creep me out big time
@@fishboydyl I don’t want to get bit
I have never caught fish on the lizard
Me Either
I'm gonna try those bps baits out
I use yunique soft swimbaits with a beast hook usually 2.5 oz and below could it handle that?
Yes it can, I’ve been using it for my softbaits.
Chunky bass
replace that rear treble with a dressed or bladed treble hook
On a hot sunny summer day when you can't get a bite on anything, this still works. Sometimes if you get a lite wind and position your boat correctly you can drift it and cover a large amount of area. "Keep it simple stupid."
I love swimbaits
Have you tried slider hooks? They work great for slow dragging. Gotta love the Texas rig ! Thanks
Never heard of it I’ll give it a look and thank you for watching
Not sure the conditions you fish but I'm buying the shimano slx swimbait rod. 7,3 medium heavy 1oz to 4oz
Have you tried any of the DRT Tiny Klash knockoffs? What budget setups do you like?
Got several bags of baby brushhogs in my tackle box.
bro you’re small get in the gym
little ass fish bro
bro he bought that fish from the grocery store. this is FAKE AF
Stop telling my secrets
you can’t even catch anything fish boy
bro you suck i bet you can’t even catch the largest mouth bass. do better
Good fish man! Have me wanting to go throw a Texas rig around. I'm always wanting to throw a jig now instead of one. Might be time to switch it up again.
For years I almost exclusively threw Texas rig worm. Just how you described. Dragging it all the way back in. It is incredibly effective. Sometimes I would get bit as soon as it hit the bottom, sometimes 5 feet in front of me. Nice and slow dragging. Years later I have picked a new bait and learned how to fish them just like you said, one at a time. I’m addicted to learning new stuff and I never dreamed I would have so much gear. I just want more and more, it never stops haha.
Nice fish dude! Cant complain about a couple 3 pounders
Thats the truth!! Thank you for watching.
I call it bouncing crawlers! Been doing it for 50 years on the Feather River in California for Steelhead...real Steelhead! Drag ripping Steelhead!
Hey man first time watching your channel I subscribed. This is the same way I learned to fish. Probably most people too. Awesome video.
Thank you for watching and subscribing!
i can attest to this as my dad would always have a texas rigged lizard and as a kid i would always watch him and think thats so slow i dont got patience for that. so i would throw a popr or a buzz bait something i can twitch and move constantly and i would get bites and catch fish but he would always catch the biggest fish. that was just his go to he mastered the lizard and feeling the bottom and waiting for the right moment to set the hook. im 30 now with three kids of my own and me and him still go fishing i definitely learned alot from him.
I have a buddy who is well versed in multiple bass fishing techniques but 90% of the time he’ll drag a worm. He’ll make a long cast, let the Tex rigged worm ( typically a straight tail robo worm ) let it hit bottom and literally drag it so slow you could watch the hair grow on his head. 15-20 minutes per cast! It would drive me crazy as I simply don’t have the patience… but, he always, I mean always catches bass… and more often than not big one’s!!!🎣
Only way I know lol
Man im gonna hold off on buying one this is the 3rd video saying it dosent swim right, the action is the most important. Thank you for the heads up
the fast sink works pretty good, they should of never released the slow and medium sink version
I have caught my biggest bass in late November in 40degrees/rain……dragging a small Texas rigged Keitech minnow as slow as you can imagine. And…..caught 2 that day in same corner of my pond. I could not believe it.
Didn't buy it after watching the Pool video by Miliken . But the loaded swimbait by Zaldain, have not fished it yet
Very budget swim bait is the "banjo minnow"
Berkley had something similar happen when they first released the Cullshad - bait just would not swim right. They recalled them and replaced everyone's once they fixed the issue. Sounds like something 6th Sense should do...
Glad to see an honest review and I’m a big 6th sense fan but this Swimbait is straight up garbage. I can’t believe he put his name on this piece of $hit. This is the worst Swimbait I’ve ever fished and threw it in the garbage. I even added weight to the bottom and tried to tune it to make it swim half way decent but wasn’t worth my time
All baits have a certain retrieve. You have to pop a popper. Drag a Carolina Rig. Saying you cant have a steady paced bait on a Kayak, really? The bait works easy, just burn it. Cant get any easier then that. Now is that the right bait for all conditions. No that is why you have a tackel box full of baits. But when they want fast. It catches very big fish.
I like a bait that can be worked at multiple retrieve speeds slow or fast. And in a kayak it’s possible but with a lot of wind and waves moving you around sometimes it’s nice to have something to fish at multiple speeds.
I fished the Strike King Wake Shad for a while which was 4" and I thought HUGE at the time (twenty years ago) LOL. Boy those things caught them tho. Prob was the hinge was plastic and broke easily, and a twenty dollar bait back then was a lot. They are discontinued now and fetch good money on Ebay. Anyway Fish Labs came out with the Bio Shad in the 4" and 6". Thay are pretty much exact copies of the original SK one and as you said very good baits for the price. And they have a good metal wire hinge. I tried their Bluegill series (wake, glide, and swim, in 4" and 5") and don't care for them at all.
I throw ZOOM floating worms, speed worms, and baby brush hogs. Floating: black or watermelon, Speed : junebug or redbug, baby brush: watermelon red flake with gold or sprayed grass. Those are my go-to's. Only time I peg a slip sinker is throwing speed worms. Texas rigged floating worm, I hook the worm with a slight j bend. A foot up the line use a swivel. Rod end of the swivel about 8 inches a split shot. The action is incredible. Brush hog no pegging a slip sinker.
Thanks for the honest review.
Love my XPS Swerve!
Me too !
Thanx. Did you just call me a old fart. Just kidding, people do it they just don't talk about it. Its not flashy and cutting edge, plus it doesn't make the companies alot of money
Great video! TH-cam has a new technique and lure everyday! Appreciate your simple video on probably the best lure back in the day and still probably the number one lure ever. If more fishermen would get back to this simple fishing technique they would have a lot more fun on the water. I too chased a many new techniques but always go back to old tried and true texas rid.
Thank you for watching and I believe If you learn a few tried and true techniques and master them you will be much more successful.
I hear good and bad things about 6th sense, but I deff wanna try some swim baits myself 🤙
It should have been called the Roll Over! I will stick to the the Daingerous Loaded swimbait, absolutely perfect at all speeds
