You can also get filter socks that go right down to 1 micron but that might be excessive lol

Put your 300 micron mesh bag the the filter floss under to pull out the really fine stuff.. the filter floss will last a lot longer .. i use a 70 micron stainless steel mesh screen

I wouldn’t say PP killed yr koi , I use that same pp and “Honestly” I can say my koi don’t like it when neutralising with Sodium Thiasulphate which the oxygen goes to low and I’ve got over 200lpm going on with my moving beds and returns showers 🚿 so HP is best option as instantly increases the oxygen not the greatest chemical but works 👍🏻

Unlucky Lee that was a big kick in the shins I've just lost a tancho yesterday and my little ochiba too but that was dropsy sometimes we get it wrong

Tbh mate PP wouldnt have been my 1st choice for gill fluke , the fishes resporatry system is already compromised with the fluke and pp will as you said strip the oxygen even more . Gutted for you Lee mate 👌👍👍👍

Koi madness designs ok but for clogging and over filling purposes I’d drop the wool down by 2-3 inches and have a loop from top to bottom with f filter clogs up then water still goes to return without over spilling “Hope that made sense”😅 1 1/2” pipe “u shape” from top so water passes to the bottom for return 🤷🏻

its working a treat mate it will soon get rid of those small particles 👍👍

try putting your return flow over some 300 micron stainless steel mesh that will pull a lot of the crap out 👍👍

Fust ..... should have given me a shout ar kid , sleeping sickness is quite easy to deal with by using .6 of salt and upping the temp . If it was sleeping sickness it normally takes a few weeks to cure . I personally think you may have had a bit of costia and the PP may have knocked it back . 😉👌👍👍👍👍
