Excellent review Very comprehensive and helpful! Now really considering buying a land rover discovery ahaha
My new car in ash grey metalic awd 130ps from toyota yaris cross
Sit in the back then and prove it 😐
what a plonker, you dont know the car you're supposed to be reviewing
Not a mild hybrid , but a full hybrid. The Sky active Mazda 2 is a mild hybrid.
The car isn’t the only thing with nice curving lines
😁
just bought one!!!
Hi , does a Mazda 3 2.2 diesel skyactiv 2016 have a throttle body ? Thanks
Nice review, well delivered. I got a 2021 Peugeot 2008 GT just four months ago and although to my taste it’s by far the best looking crossover inside and out, it hasn’t stopped leaking from the transmission. Under warranty it has gone to Peugeot who said they fixed it yet it ms still leaking. So I’ve put in writing that I want a refund and will be looking at getting the Cx-30 sport lux ( the gt is out of my price range sadly). Would cx-30 owners say the skyactive x is abit of a dealbreaker looking back? Any skyactive G owners wish they would have opted for X?
Noisy lazy engine
You are pretty
It is easy to average 70 MPG providing you keep on the green eco part of the monitor and regularly use the B setting which prolongs the life of tyres and brakes on the gear selector when approaching roundabouts, junctions and traffic lights. The only down side is that the car does not like British pot holes meaning it is less smooth and comfortable as French cars which I admit I am used to.
I'm considering purchasing the CX30 and have been doing lots of research. Thanks for such a practical review of the vehicle. Very useful. The one thing I really don't like about it is the brown leather.
Just picked up my 2nd Mazda 3 in crystal blue. Can't fault Mazda cars, beautifully built and very reliable. Nice informative video 👍
I wish she would keep her hands on the wheel in the correct position.
The all electric mx 30 had a pretty disapointing electric range so they have made this with less than half the electric range, oops now if they still had the 100 mile electric range with this system , success...what ev car makers seem to have forgotten is charging at home is the cheap to run and convenient bit, now i know people will say ,what if you cant charge at home, simple dont get an ev.
Your hot ❤
Could you comapre the 6 cyclinder mazda to an audi v6 and bmw?
I like the sound of your voice. Great review.. and you know about cars which is even more of a bonus
Who wants a 2.0L Volkswagen self recycling engine? Not me!
You need to press the disable warnings button to turn off all the annoying bong sounds.
Thats literally Toyota Yaris but with different details, the body atleast, damn, when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a Toyota 100% till I read the title
Is it worth spending more for the 2024 version over a 2020/21 version? The savings are obviously huge for the 2020/21 version. Thank you.
I found a 2021 in perfect condition with only 18k kilometers and I don't regret my choice
She's brilliant and drop-dead gorgeous!
Best looking car in his segment. Period
Agreed
Oh No!! CVT hopefully if so its a 4.5 Gen Toyota unit, I prefer their standard transmission or a manual which we cannot get in NZ.
Where do the electric point for the tow bar for lights etc?
The electric point for the two bar located on the side of the towbar itself. Thanks
Motor muerto
True
Most sense a woman has spoken about a car in a long time well done 😑
this guy looks like a young school student. well done young man
Poor driving technique. Never cross hands on steering wheel.
Mazda oaoo 😮❤
Got one,love it.
the mx30 got the best of both worlds ev and gasoline props to you for reviewing it
If you want to grow your channel, improve your audio. A lot of people will switch off due to the poor sound quality.
You do not have many viewers (yet!). But this short overview of the MX30 REV was one of the most likeable I have seen so far!! Your way of presentation is outstanding, honestly! Try to keep that up and more success will ensue! Greetings from Germany....!
The problem I have with mazda is that it is way too long and wide. I have an Audi Avant from 2005, and mazda 3 is almost as long and is 3cm wider. Wide I understand, but why so long? Well, Mazda needed space to fit Turbo to it for north american market, but in Europe they don't sell the turbo version for some very strange reasons (I guess political). And yet we have to bear with an excessively long car with around 10cm of empty space between the firewall and the engine.
You mean it's as long as an estate lol you sure
@ozhoneybadger Yeah, mazda 3 sedan is longer than Audi B6 Avant. Go check for yourself. I have b6 and put it next to sedan. Sedan is 4660mm length, Audi A4 b6 avant is 4540mm. Can you read numbers? Check the car spec sheet. And it is 30mm wider than the Audi. Mazda 3 isn't a small car.
@@ampm9771 The rear of the car seems small in terms of height. Someone tall in the back seat is not good someone I know has it.
@ozhoneybadger I don't understand where did the space go in such a large car? It is not roomy, doesn't have a large trunk, front seats are Ok, but where did all that space go? Mazda 3 should have beenat least, at least 10 to 15cm shorter. Take Golf Mk8, it is waye smaller and has much bigger interior space and trunk. But the reasons I would buy it are because it is a Mazda, and it is made in Japan which means everything to me.
how long is this extended test drive? And what are the "hidden" rules?
Gorgeous car 👌
EREVs & PHEVs are completely different concepts. EREV is by far the most common EV in China so you don't have any of the range anxiety. For some reason, it is yet to catch on in the uk. People here like to faff around with PHEV instead. Only the BMW i3 had the option of a 647cc 2-cyl petrol engine as a range extender.
I thought MX-30 was the worst EV, but hey this is even worser, maybe if people sell them for 10k euro used somebody will buy it.
Great English.
@@rret6885Op clearly doesn't understand the benefits of PHEV.
Worser. Great college education
❤❤❤ car girl oh man oh man
Simp.
The dialog audio is coming out of the left channel only (seems the music at the start is not affected by this, comes out of left and right). I'm surprised this made it past final checks. Maybe there were no final checks? Anyway, car looks interesting to me :)
Thanks for pointing out, we will give the video and extra audio check for channels on our next video! Thanks
this is the worst car of the year
Very well supported conclusion.
Why?
Very ignorant statement with ZERO evidence to back up your claim.
Troll
Rotary+plugin hybrid = the worst of both worlds...
Lol yeah I love Mazda and an RX-7 would be awesome to own...but I would engine swap it immediately. A rotary and a hybrid - that's complexity I would never want to deal with.
I’ve been driving a Hybrid which is traditionally more complex than this vehicle for over 10 years - a 2008 Toyota Hybrid. Yes, that iconic model that was derided by all automobile purists and spawned many a myth about how terrible Hybrid cars were. Of course, none of the myths turned out to be true. The 15 year old battery still works perfectly (probably has the best ever Battery Management System installed by default by Toyota). 152k miles and nothing on the drivetrain has failed (apart from noisy front wheel bearings 10k miles ago). That’s wear and tear. The Mazda MX-30 R-EV has a Wankel Rotary Extender serving solely as a generator to the battery, the latter which powers the wheels via an electric motor. The Rotary engine NEVER drives the wheels directly. This is a new engine designed to run at no more than 4,500rpm max - when running as a generator only. Those rotor tips will last a great deal longer than most might imagine - and you won’t be running that Wankel Engine every moment either - it’s meant to be an Auxiliary Power Unit to get you to your home charger - or to your nearest charger wherever you are. Let’s dispense with the largely unfounded and ridiculous myths about Wankel engines and EVs. I suspect this vehicle is going to last, long term. That Wankel engine running at a smooth constant speed NOT under terrible load from a traditional vehicle transmission system is going to work out better than most realise - Mazda have done their homework this time. This is a vehicle to watch - it’s a unique well built wonder.
Worst of both worlds? Imagine being that guy who's probably never owned either with such a heavy opinion. I owned a plug-in hybrid and guess how much it cost me in fuel per month to operate that car vs fuel cost in daily driving my 1/2 American truck?
Nice video!
An actual real comparison. So proud of what Mazda has achieved with this new platform and car range
Anyone driven both the X and G engines with an auto box?
Yes, I would say the choice would be largely dependent on your driving needs. The G Auto is ideal for town driving but you will need the engine to work hard to get the pulling power or "strong acceleration" should you require it. The X auto feels powerful and gives you the feeling that you can overtake safely when required and you have that stronger acceleration.
We bought the Dec 2023 build of the 2.5 Skyactiv G range topper which is the new 2024 revision model. In Australia the min fuel requirement is 95RON or higher. I always use 98RON and the engine runs very well. These are a very sophisticated vehicles and the 2024 revisions are very nice!@@green4motorcompany
I have had the 2.6G for 18 months not a problem and plenty of power when needed.
Nice car but comes with various problems. Mine is 2 years old, already both mirror motors required replacing. 2x radiator recalls. Replacement rear shock absorbers. Broke down and was in dealers for 7 weeks regarding the fuel injection, charging of lithium battery and other issues. The piano finishing on dash and between exterior glass scratches way too easily.
It's less like a PHEV and more like an EV with a R-EX (Range extender). The BWM i3 rex and Vaxhaull Ampera were similar vehicles, all using generators to charge the battery. It'll be interesting to see how the MPG is effected on a 100-200 mile journey with a full battery. Usually PHEVs fare badly on long runs at motorway speeds.
Yes, from first drives, it feels exactly the same as the EV. We will make a driving experience video soon and we want to see just what's the best MPG we can achieve over different type so journey. Thanks for commenting! :)
