I'm not going to defend Vaush on the racialized comparisons, but Tyler is so wrong in his analysis. Rural southern voters did not stop voting for democrats because Bill Clinton screwed them over. They stopped voting for democrats after 1964. (Gee I wonder what happened around that time?) Until Bill Clinton was elected, Republicans controlled the presidency for 20 out of the previous 24 years, so the exodus of rural southern states happened long before Bill Clinton stepped on to the scene. Clinton was a himself a conservative democrat from the south who was all too eager to compromise with republicans. NAFTA was a longstanding republican dream that democrats firmly stood in the way of until Clinton was able to cajole enough of his party to go along with it. Look at the nay votes on the roll call when the treaty was ratified, it is majority democrat. Republicans themselves have never been for the working class, yet Tyler constantly makes excuses for these people. "They might be a bit racist, but did you know that some west coast leftist is mean to them?" Yeah Tyler, probably because of that aforementioned racism. Lee Atwater's southern strategy was instrumental in turning southern democrats into republicans by using race as a wedge issue. Another misconception Tyler has is that rural people get the short end of the stick when it comes to government funding. Completely false. Rural people receive more per capita in government funding than city people do and that isn't including many of the traditional perks that rural and suburban people have enjoyed because of the tax breaks that home owners have gotten over renters. It is true that American cities have been more prosperous while rural areas having stagnated and decayed, but that's because rural areas decided to elect anti goverment racist republicans who ran their communities into the ground for over half a century. They could have made their lives better by voting for democrats, but instead they stuck with the party that kept making their lives worse. One final point. Democrats have proposed and implemented numerous programs specifically targeted to help rural voters. Even in the last 4 years, there has been the Build Back Better plan, The Inflation Reduction Act, the CHIPS act, and other policy changes through the NRLB to help people unionize, but you will still get morons like the shop owner in the video who will claim "Biden ain't done nothin' for me" even as billions of dollars have been allocated to improve rural infrastructure. On the flip side, Trump gave rural America LITERALLY nothing. Worse than nothing in fact. His trade war with China threatened to decimate American farmers while his tax cuts benefited only their super rich. Yet rural people are lining up to vote the billionaire New York real-estate mogul who gave them no material benefit instead of Biden/Harris who gave them billions to improve their communities. If it was just material conditions driving rural voting, then this dynamic shouldn't be possible. I would recommend a book called "White Rural Rage" co written by a political scientist along with a writer for The American Prospect if you want to learn more.

i was pretty interested in the Webnovel sean on RoyalRoad a few years ago, an done of the biggest complaints about it was a lot of webnovels would majorly drop in quality for the month, some authors decided to stop doing it becauce there own work had mesurably suffered from it, and i used to regularly drop stories during nonowrimo because they would drop in quality, and didnt have the time to sit down and adjust what they were doing

It was good to hear a perspective closer to things.
