MaestroDMX with update 1.1 - working colour wheels and gobos
More testing in my cramped garage!! Don't judge my clutter! 😄
The latest software patch 1.1 for the MaestroDMX adds colour wheels and gobo control for things like moving heads.
Set up details, demo with multitrack recording, and some more thoughts and comments at the end, so please stick around and hear how I think MaestroDMX is coming on.

Testing MaestroDMX on multitrack from a live set
มุมมอง 1.9Kปีที่แล้ว
This is my second major set of testing of the MaestroDMX - this time against a multitrack recording. In this instance, the Maestro is receiving signal from the monitor out - the same as my little Roland AC-60 - so you can hear what's playing. The audio level is nicely green. I pushed up the kick sensitivity about halfway and was getting good kick indication. The lighting still feels quite rando...
MaestroDMX first test: how does it perform with live music?
มุมมอง 7Kปีที่แล้ว
I mainly do live sound for small festivals and bands. My primary use for the MaestroDMX is to take lighting control off me so I can focus on the mixing desk. I will also use it for DJing but this is secondary. I currently use FreeStyler on a touchscreen PC. This has worked well, but requires manual attention a lot of the time to produce a good light show. This is my very first test of lights. I...

Christmas party DJ setup rig rundown
มุมมอง 6743 ปีที่แล้ว
This was our setup for a work Christmas party in a local pub function room. Sound system is a pair of Peavy QW215 twin 15" which indoors I use as subs, to give a nice sharp response for kick and bass. They are topped with a pair of RCF ART500 passive 15" plus horn, which gives a great range for mid and top. These are all old but awesome with a real richness to the sound and a great overall tone...
Small disco setup
มุมมอง 2.9K7 ปีที่แล้ว
This is our small disco set up. The party was for a pair of 9 year old twins' birthday and their friends. It was quite light in the hall (the party was in the afternoon) but the Kam UV bars still did a great job on the UV face paints. We also used our Lantra Galaxy Fireballs and our JB Systems Party Bar. Thìs was a quick setup - only half an hour from opening the hall to being ready. Sadly we c...

Simple disco setup
มุมมอง 1K8 ปีที่แล้ว
Basic setup with 4 mini-spot moving heads, ADJ event bar (4 white pin-spots) and a pair of KAM UV bars on the truss and an ADJ H2O behind the DJ booth lighting up the panels. Lighting was running on Freestyler.
RGBW LED Mini Moving Head Light test - in the kitchen!!
มุมมอง 56K8 ปีที่แล้ว
With 4 new LED mini moving heads, we needed a quick test before they go out on the road. This is running Freestyler with sound to light active, on a Velleman K8062 USB to DMX interface running random change. And where better to do it than in the kitchen... Here's the rig rundown: 3m Gorilla truss on windup stands Custom heavy duty DJ booth with translucent panels 4-Pack 30W RGBW LED Moving Head...
Lighting Demo

Short video showing some of our lighting. Taken at a local church 'light party'. Unfortunately we couldn't use smoke or turn the hall lights down, but it shows of our 3D laser and some of the lighting effects We have a new set of moving heads on the way so watch this space for more lighting :o) Background music courtesy of Sigala - Sweet Lovin'
Charity concert finale with the Stars of The Voice 2106

The grand finale from our recent charity concert for U Support Children's Charity featuring some of the stars from the 2016 The Voice UK on BBC. This was a live stream sent out via social media so apologies that the quality isn't the greatest. Thanks so much to the Stars that made this possible.

Disco setup

We were shoved into a rather cramped corner for this disco but made the best of it!
Useless video
Pretty impressive and its only going to get better with time
NSYNC Can’t stop the feeling!
you are a top! :)
Audio mode..Clapping my hands is way better than this.
Can you use maestro dmx with a pangolin / kvant laser?
It really likes magenta, huh?

Would you recomend this product for automatic lighting vs others on the market?
Hi. I used to use Freestyler - so not exactly automatic. I used sound to light which could generate random values for colours, moving head positions, gobos, etc. It was okay, but really needed someone driving it to make a coherent show. For me, that is the big thing with Maestro - it actually can do a coordinated show across all my lighting groups. There are still options to override individual lights - which I'm unlikely to use, or the ability to create scenes with either static or dynamic states, colour schemes, energy levels etc all built in. I am using the scenes mostly, so I can change mood on the stage with just one button press, then leave Maestro to get on and play the lights while I mix the sound.
well it seems to be getting better. still far from a must have especially at that price.
What lights do you have and how do you control them?
I have a.i. lightshow, but also checking on getting Maestro DMX. Just waiting for moving heads to be fully supported with gobos and color wheels. A.i. lightshow those are supported. But i do want to see about making special scenes for first dance and so on
Hi. Thanks for commenting. We're hoping for the gobo and colour wheel support in the next few days. There's quite a good community over on Facebook and I'm pleased to say the company is active in there, replying and supporting us. Scenes are pretty easy. For now, you can dictate the energy of the room, with different levels from static to busy on the 3 separate groups. It's easy to set colour schemes, etc. It obviously needs the full mover support, but I'm generally pleased with what I'm seeing so far.
I just dropped a new video showing the latest software update and the new colour wheel and gobo support
I’m also using Maestro dmx. What pinspots do you use? I can’t get my ADJ LED quad DMX spots running other than as strobe and blinder. No RGBW. Mine are 6channels
Thanks for sharing! I am in the same boat - small/medium live shows and don't have time or resources to program lights. This is helpful. Please share more!
My pleasure. A new one is uploading as I type! 😄
press sound active on your lights and get EXACTLY the same thing. 750 dollar waste of money
@burnyabad No, I disagree. I've been using FreeStyler for years, with detailed groups covering different light types, areas of the stage, etc. Even there, with group control on and manually controlling colours, it either takes a lot of effort (so as a one-man crew it takes me away from sound) or using sound trigger you get a pretty random show. If I was using a couple of gig bars in sound-to-light show and slaved together it might be different. However, across a diverse set of lights, it brings a level of cohesiveness that I can't do automatically. Have a look at my second video which is beginning to look better as I start playing with groups and fixture positioning.
This all just looks really random to me. What am I missing?
No, I pretty much agree. I have to do a lot more testing with a better sound source. Pre-recorded music was definitely better, but I didn't record/post that as I was worried about copyright. Hopefully this weekend I will get more opportunities to test.
Need tutorial how to link with lights
@@Senothehero Hi - Maestro give a tutorial in their support group here - maestrodmx.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/153000210659 - you may need to create an account first and then sign in to access it, but that is all free.
I have every set up and ready but im having the hardest time for the past week to add the fixtures to my lights ( ridgeyeard 230 beams) and adj sweepers quad)
@@Senotheherotry using the clay paky sharpy profile for your 230 beam.
Hi, yes! I've been at an event all week, so no chance to test anything yet, sadly!! I hope to start throwing up a few lights this weekend to see what it can do.
Can you post videos of testing it out? I have soundswitch and A.I. Lightshow. But thinking of address maestro dmx to my artillery 😎🤟
Nice Kitchen Bro.. LOL

Great way to motivate your wife to get in the kitchen lol

What does the wife think about this?
SamIsOG Ha ha - I had to put my toys away before tea time!
Music First haha looks amazing though, great atmosphere. And it's good to have the wifes approval :)
SamIsOG Thanks 👍That was my first rig last year when I went professional rather than amature. It has grown a bit since then. I hope to have a new video up soon with the new rig. Follow me to see it soon 😀
Music First will do I've subbed and cant wait to see an update video
hi how are you awesome video.. can you tell me how you make them run with freestyler? because y have 2 miving heads... thank you
The big lights next to the moving heads, where did you purchase that those?
vick Valdivia Hi. I got them from eBay. They are the Lanta Galaxy Fireball. They are no longer made but you can still find them around secondhand.
Do they normally slip gears
Season Vlogs Hi. As I mentioned in another comment if stood on the base then they seemed to slip quite often whereas hanging from the truss they don't slip at all. I've used them at easily over a dozen events and all are still working perfectly.
Music First oh god wish I’d seen this before I ordered them 6 hours ago 😂 hopefully mine might be different
Good morning my friend, these two uv led bars, lights up the whole space? Because I want to buy 2 too
Elisson Barreto Yes they are really good. I used them today for a children's disco and the room was very light but the kids UV paint still glowed brightly.
This is awesome, how much did it cost?
Thanks for that! I've updated the description with a full rig rundown. The moving heads I bought as a 4-pack for about £250. I was a bit worried about the quality as they are basically a cheap Chinese copy of the ADJ Inno Pocket Spot. Stood upright there have been problems with slipping gears and they get out of sync, however, hanging from my truss they have worked perfectly so far (3 gigs plus testing). Master/slave mode didn't seem to want to work if the master was in sound-to-light, only if it was in auto show, although the manufacturer assures me it should. Also there is no SLAVE1/SLAVE2 such as you get on the ADJ to mirror the sense of movement. However, DMX works perfectly and sound-to-light on FreeStyler was a doddle to set up. I set max range limits in FreeStyler so they only ever point forward of the rig and it all looks pretty good. The whole rig is a mix of new and second-hand and cost me about £600 not including the laptop.
