Platys are my favorite livebearer. Many of the other livebearers got all of their color variants from platy genes. Just put some java moss in your tank so the fry have hiding places and food sources.

Baby bristle nose can go in shrimp tanks

I think rainbow/redtail sharks would look good in the angelfish tank for some color and movement. Along with some tetras. I have always thought that cardinal (or neon) tetras as well as rummy nose tetras looked nice in planted tanks.

Hint to prevent too much absorbtion of paint. Mix up an undercoat of watered down wood glue. That seals the surface of the concrete bricks and allows you to paint over it with your normal paint.
