Honors Little Library
We partnered with the Honor's Program at Roanoke College to install a Little Free Library by Hundley Hall at the Environment Center. The library contains Environment Studied themed books, just for fun books, children's books, and more. Whether you are a visitor to the EC or a student, staff, or faculty who needs a fun read stop by and Take a Book or Leave a Book This video shows the sweat equity and good humor that the honor's students invested to make the little library happen.

The Rain Garden

Environmental Studies seniors installed a Rain Garden as part of their senior capstone course. Through Dr. Chelsea Peters' mentorship, the students researched how to build a rain garden, worked with stakeholders, planned out the logistics, and got digging. Now their legacy will be a permanent part of the Environment Center.

Weeding the Meadow

Just before a storm broke out, these fearless volunteers weeded the meadow. Work on invasive species control will be on going at the meadow restoration site. September 2023
