Nice. 😁 Yeah, the game definitely has its faults, but all the stuff I mentioned before with the aesthetics, armour abilities and guns (*stars rubbing nipples vigorously at the thought of a railgun Desert Eagle*) are what make it stand out for me. I literally just install and replay it every couple of months just to get my super soldier power fantasy fix. That and Space Marine. God, I love that game...have you perhaps played it before?

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with wanting to play with a character that looks attractive to you. The main character on the front of any piece of media is what gets us interested in it, so it's extremely important for an artist to make sure they're putting their best foot forward on the their character's appearance.

You have to protect yourself and not be as optimistic as you once were because you've been let down with gaming before, and that's okay. We'll take Fable 2025 as what it is, praise what we like and criticize what we don't. That's all we can do.

1. You're not really being specific on "such elements". 2. Not really, but art can be perceived differently. But the fact stands that the features exist in The Fable Series, that's un-debatable. 3. Sex = Male / Female / Reproductive System / Chromosome Makeup Gender = Man / Woman / Neuro-chemical / Social Identification What is a woman? The fact or condition of belonging to or identifying as a female based on one's neurochemical makeup, regardless of one's Chromosomal Makeup/Reproductive System. OVERSIMPLIFICATION: A Woman is a Female Neuro-Chemically not Reproductively/Chromosomally What is a Female? Trans people understand the sex they were born but would rather be identified as having a different gender identity as they are naturally born with a neuro-chemical Female or Male brain. 4. That's not a yes or no question as my opinion about race-swapping characters is on a case-by-case basis. I can't say ALL is wrong or ALL is right, that doesn't give the act a fair chance to exist properly. However, I will say that all art should be able to be created without censorship, including extremely offensive ones I don't support or agree with. However, misinformation should be censored because misinformation is objectively wrong and harmful. If an artist wanted to make Black Panther a White person, they should be able to. I'm just not going to consume it. And the artist also needs to be prepared to be criticized for their artwork like all other artworks that are created.

A nice sentiment on paper, but severely lacking the nuance of context. There is not an equal number of each demographic throughout the world. If a game is set in Africa, i would not expect, nor want, for all, or even a majority, or even half, or quarter, or even a tenth of the characters to be white. Hell, having any white characters in a game set in Africa would feel like pandering. But, the opposite is also true for a game set in northern Europe. I would not expect to see any black characters in such a setting. And i think both scenarios are fair. Everyone has a right to be represented *accurately* . The same holds for fictional settings, too. If a fictional city is inexplicably a melting pot of different races, it'll feel like it lacks identity, ironically. Such cities are, realistically, typically large, central trade hubs. Even then, they will have a predominant demographic. As for alternative sexualities, realistically, at most every 3 out of 100 characters would be gay, and 1 out of 200 would be gender nonconforming in some way. And without a good narrative reason, such characters have no place in a story to begin with. In. Other. Words. *your "representation" is gross over-representantion.*

@@Maxie962 I Understand your point. but you misunderstand ours. You're under the impression that cultural accuracy isn't important to me for the sake of representation, which is false. That's Misrepresentation, and I'm against that. But that's fair to assume since I didn't say where my lines are with when representation feels disingenuous, which, it can. That said, we are speaking in the context of The Fable Universe specifically, not historically accurate media in general. So far, Fable has always had a mix of characters of different backgrounds, sexualities, and gender identies, so Fable should continue to have these themes based on its own history of its world. Context is REALLY important in dicussions. People tend to give a generalization to everything as a whole, but everything needs to be on a case-by-case basis so it's treated fairly.

​@@Maxie962 I think that when you look at how representation works you will see that you cannot simply state what's "realistic" on a per game basis and be done with it. Sure, the minorities you mention are, as you say, small. But look at how much of the media that is readily available to you represents you. And then think about the amount of of readily available media representing those minorities. I doubt it's anywhere near 1%.

You've said nothing. I read your post twice and I don't know what you're talking about. What do you mean they'd try anything to antagonize their core audience? Why would any company do that? Do they not want to make money? Symptom of a larger problem? What problem? Literally you've said nothing. Please be less vague.

@@PlanetaryPluto My point is controversy like this is nothing new. It is now being used as a viral marketing tactic. Nothing more. People are sick of being sold a shitty product and then attacked when they criticise it. Which in turn drums up more drama., and around and around we go. All this nonsense you see surrounding games is used to sell the product. Everyone on both sides of the argument is being used. and that is the main problem. All of a sudden poeple are so busy arguing over meaningless bullshit, no-one actually cares if the game is good or not. Only that it checks the right boxes for them and the ideology they support. Ultimately the company selling the game doesn't care which side of the fence you are on. It only cares that you talk about the prodiuct good ot bad it doesn't matter. If the product fails the company can simply blame the opposition for it (usually the core fanbase) and move on. I could talk for ages about the slow deciline of the industry but I have to go to work now. o/

I don't think you understand the point of my video. I'm not speaking on the quality of Fable 2025 or why anyone should view the game differently. I'm calling out a group of people that use buzzwords they can't properly define on a series they never played or understood. Fable (2025) could be terrible and that's won't be surprising as The Fable Series hasn't been good since Fable 2 in 2008, so that's about 16 years that fable hasn't been good. Since then, we've had Fable 3, Fable Journey (Kinect Game), Fable Legends (5v1), and Fable Fortune (Card Game). If Fable 2025 is crap, it won't be because of "A Narrative", Fable 2025 will be crap because of the continued ignorance toward understanding Fable's world, mechanics, and charm that's plagued the series since Fable 3. Any Fable fan would understand that as well, furthing the point of my video. which is "stop speaking on things you know nothing about while using buzzwords you can't define."

As an OVERSIMPLIFICATION: Neuro-chemically, a person's brain is different than what they are biologically. This also goes to what you're sexually attracted to. Trans people understand what were born Biologically but would rather be identified as a different gender identity. Sex = Male / Female / Reproductive System / Chromosome makeup Gender = Man / Woman / Neuto-chemical / Social Identification Both are Biologically natural. Unfortunately, "Sex" and "Gender" are being talked about as if they are the SAME WORD with the SAME DEFINITION, when "Sex" and "Gender" ARE NOT the same word scientifically. So, it's confusing to have a comprehensive conversation about the subject. This leads some people to believe that Trans people are claiming to be a different SEX biologically, which is impossible, rather than people understanding trans people are instead identifying/presenting themselves to be different GENDER. Even some Trans people use "Sex" and "Gender" as the same word, confusing people. Hope this helps.

You dont get to just change your gender legally because you feel you were born in the "wrong body" Pretend all you want. Thats just what it is, pretending. You werent born a woman, you cant become one after. You werent born a cat, you cant become one. You werent born a fighter jet, you cant become one.

Edit: A fighter jet isn't a gender, it's an object. A cat isn't a gender, it's a species. anyone who told you that is either lying, trying to be funny, or doesn't understand Transgenderism, Biology, and Neuro-chemistry. Nobody is changing what they were born. They are changing what they are being called. Like a name change. Same thing here. Again, neuro-chemically, trans people were born with a different brain to their reproductive system/chromosomal makeup. It's a natural, Biological fact of life that has been around forever but is "new" thanks to the growing internet exposure. Neuro-chemistry is very complex, but it's natural and biological. It makes up how a person thinks and behaves. Including what you're sexually attracted to.

I played the first game for years. They actually fixed the system with the release of the Dark Arisen DLC. It's now only possible to romance shopkeepers through gifts

Maybe it was a glitch. lol I never gave this other guy gifts in the 2nd game (some side character soldier dude) and he turned out to be my “beloved” too. lol I maxed out with that lady with black hair (can’t remember her name) but she wasn’t. Thats what I hope too. Trend-chasing, gimmicky developers have ruined game franchises. Think Fable Journey, Fable Legends, Fable Heroes, and that damn Fable card came, Fable Fortune... Fable hasnt been good since 2 (14 yrs ago) imo. But at least 3 had some good systems. Everything after that has been god-awful..

Then it's even more stupid because literally nothing in any media presented to us so far has even entertained that idea. They just took one thing they disliked and created a fantasy game out of that where concepts very VERY loosely connected to that one thing they dislike (that one thing that they also made up) are present. This is honnestly nothing but immaturity. If you're gonna judge a game from it's trailer, first off, you shouldn't really, second, at least judge it from things that *are* explicitly there in said trailer.

@@noneya6880 it really depends, a trailer can hide many things. For example, a cinematic trailer can show story, atmosphere and characters but not gameplay, features, game feel and actual visuals. Thus, you cannot have any valid opinion regarding the latter with only the trailer as a source. Cyberpunk 2077 still has some of the most hyped trailers despite the state of the game at launch (even though the problems weren't so much about the content and features but stability and polish).

Which is also a weird thing to complain. Maybe being a gamer since the 90's programmed me different but I never cared how beautiful the fictional character im playing with looks like. In one game im a fat italian plumber and in the next im a bear with a giant bird on my backpack, now im a skeleton, a small dragon and whatever the fuck Crash Bandicoot is.

@@zzxp1 i agree, but for some people their protagonist have to be a beauty fantasy, and it hasnt to be like that, even in modern games some protagonist are ugly by definition, like frank west in the dead rising series, the protagonist from cruelty squad and so on, also, fable is a game where you can personalize your character so if the protagonist face bothers you, you can always change it as your hearts content
