I got the game for my Birthday and was finally able to play. I think I am hooked! We have the same books but ours include jack of the fables issues sometimes I think. It's at 10 books released so far. Interesting stuff! Gonna try out! Amazing video as always!

Preacher is my all-time fave. I love the religious stuff. Hitman was great, and I also loved Ennis’ work on Shadow Man and his story Rover Red Charlie.

Hey Thomas, thought I'd let you know that in the book guide 73-75 are marked as related but in the map/guide they are marked as essential

I was once at the hospital and I was allowed to have my parents bring me paperback books. I asked them to bring Preacher and they tried to bring that along with some other books, but I was told they weren't allowed because they were too violent. Turns out Crossed was among the other books they brought lmao

I hate all-star Superman the story makes no sense how does Superman die from absorbing too much solar radiation the whole thing about Superman is that he is strengthened himself whenever he is in contact with the sun, oh and don’t get me started with the artstyle I’ve always like frank quietly’s artwork when I was a kid now I’m an adult I finally open my to how garbage his artstyle is it’s too clumby and it’s makes the characters skins look gross but then again I’m starting to have a random thought about all my favorite comics like why do i like comics books in the first place, is it because the artwork of several artists or is it nostalgia calling to me

I’m currently reading the IDW TMNT series. So that would be a cool series to do. But I think it’s a bit easier to see the order and everything, so don’t really fall under your typical criteria for why you make videos…

The Avengers cover you showed was a special cover for the trade paperback version that was packed with the 2012 Avengers DVD/Bluray. It did have a cover that looked like all the other Season One books. I own both versions

Kind of put me off getting this book. I LOVE Wipeout, and I actually do like a lot of the graphic design, such as the fonts, menus etc. in how it is shown in the book. However I also think it is very indicative of a lot of modern 'Art of...' books, which are more image heavy with little text which is annoying. The art of Metal Gear Solid 5 is a MASSIVE offender. As an artist and someone who has tonnes of art books, the benchmark for me has always been the Star Wars prequels and Lord of the Rings trilogy art of books that were rammed with images but accompanied with loads of annotations, descriptions and process explanations. This book should have had way more track and schematics of the ships for me, as well as some background on the world of Wipeout. I may be a little ignorant of that and some of the text explains aspects of it, but I would have liked to have seen it more apparent. Maybe that could be a future release, like the schematics books of Star Wars and the Alien Universe, but I feel its been a missed opportunity. I may still pick it up as I want to at some point do some large scale paintings as a love letter to the series, but there doesn't seem much here that I can't get off a google image search or some of the brilliant fan sites from over the years.

Fun fact: If you've read all the Crossed comics and just want a little more well I managed to find this gem from another comic book artist. Search Mercury Heat Volume Two, issues 7-12 has a surprise twist. It should suffice and enjoy. Edit: It's an interesting take on the cross virus even though it's not a true cross virus. Pseudo Cross Virus. Cheers 🍻

One piece of Fables media you haven't mentioned is the book, Peter And Max, a novel set in the Fables Universe, written by Willingham. Granted, it's not a comic book, it's still in continuity with the rest.

this may have been answered before, but is there a way to get a downloadable copy of that reading map? thats what I really need right now as i'm getting into the whole artifactverse after reading random comics within many years ago.

I feel like you are missing the point of the art gallery; to sort of embed you into the vibe and atmosphere of the game. Saying that I think you are still right to point out that they go a bit too far here. I would have at least liked a fact file or lore about the different companies.

Dude , im just about to buy the last volume in the series and i totally agree , coming hot off of vertigos greats i thought preacher was really iverrated in terms of its religion bashing, ofc pple go thats the point ! But i think irs just lazy writing imean garth could of easily figured out a wah to create aa morally compelling story bringing god into the fold , the ending with saint o killers killing god was just a child trying to write a badass ending But , i love the little wlements in the story the jesse tulip love story and the whole small town detour fighting the kukluxklan was great !

The difference in art is because the title was originally released online first in a biweekly schedule, and each issue was split in two, so only one full issue was released in a month instead of two (the same happened to some other adaptations at the time, like Injustice). There was more than one artist to meet the deadlines, most likely.

I played the game when it came out, I really liked it. I've yet to read the comic version, though. If you liked the game, you can try Backsad: Under the Skin. Also based in a comic book, has the same Noir feel and similar point and click gameplay.

Not a single person looks up to Harley Quinn and most people that do are kids. People mostly cosplay Harley Quinn because they can relate to the abuse of mental and physical. Harley Quinn is a symbol of women that dealt with this issues and over came them. So yes people can dress up as her and doesn’t make them an asshole for dressing as they like, it’s like telling someone to dress up as the joker cause you think they are an anarchistic.

You contradict yourself a lot you know that. Maybe we shouldn’t base our idea of Harley from the movies

Revisiting the comments to get your POV on something, How did you decide how to qualify if something was essential or related? Token is a bit easier for me to grasp, but I was trying to do a personal reading guide for a new event and can’t make decisions how on important certain elements are to something being considered essential vs a side note. Apologies if you did review it, it’s been a while since I ran through everything!

Plot armor how the f do we have so many Harley Quinn’s in the basement isn’t she the only one ever known? She’s terrible either way. The way the character is now is a no accountability female feminist of this day and time. Never says sorry for anything or atones for any of her sins of the past. I see all these clips with on TH-cam and she’s just chilling with justice league and Batman like there best buds lol. Stop the cap and put the pipe down people she ain’t hero never will be.

Not gonna lie, as an impressionable teenager, I quite liked Wanted movie but as an adult, surprisingly I found the xbox 360 third person shooter game Wanted: Weapons of Fate to be quite decent because the bullet curving was awesome in gameplay. I'll check out the graphic novel as well. Did not even know that Mark Millar wrote it, don't really understand the steep criticisms he faces, man is creative and writes action packed bombastic stories. Can you recommend a few of his work that is less mainstream but very good still?

Very valid thoughts, I must say! And hugely entertaining. I myself am asked the first question in regards to books because in my circle I have mphil eng lit so people assume that iam pretentious enough to give james joyce and shakespeare as my answer. I end the conversation saying I havent read it, and that i would much rather read sherlock holmes stories than these. Firstly, they are astonished, then they round on me but ignoring them is pretty much the best way to deal with this. Sorry, for this lonh explanation but your experience reminded me of a few difficult conversations I faced.😅 That said, Its not a reading order but in your opinion what are the ten trades/graphic novels that you would recommend if someone wants to get a taste of DC comics? I used your xmen entry point video and found it helpful as i read morrison and whedon's era. So, if you can make a video regarding this, that would be excellent but if not just give 8-10 recommendations, if you feel like it. Kudos to you!

There's a plethora of comics and stories that all tell the same story. Little known comics are hidden gems. Stories like Supermans origin, they have multiple iterations. From Clark to Goku to "Mishka" (Russian Clark Kent). I Revere the classics, and enjoy the lessons in the shorts.

Good work once again. How do you begin your research into token events and the outskirts of some of these events? Can you check publication dates and then read to see if they’re involved?
