Today's lecture is special because Professor Roy is giving a lot of tips on how to become fluent in English. That is through her long years of experience in teaching English at a University. In fact, learning English is a certain process that takes time to acquire a high degree of proficiency in the language. It does not happen within a short period of time as we see some English tutors with little or no proper qualifications and experience promising to make their students proficient in English in such a short time. On TH-cam we see some tutors running their TH-cam channels and teaching wrong English. If a person can learn English within a very short time such as in 3 months or 4 months that's a miracle. That's impossible. To achieve mastery level, a learner has to dedicate his time and energy for that. They have to create a language environment at home. They must speak at least a few sentences with their fellow learners and friends, and that is how fluency can be obtained. Interaction with other people who speak English - native or non-native speakers is important. As English is a practical language, it's important to practice speaking it as much as possible.
