I am disabled with chronic pain and live alone. Buying a bunch of highly perishable foods that have to be prepared and replenished regularly is not practical for me. I don’t like buying shelf stable, processed foods but I literally do not have the mental or physical energy to be constantly thinking about what my next meal is going to be and whether my pain will allow me to make it. Obviously I eat some whole foods and cook a moderate amount but to completely cut out processed food just isn’t real life for me. It’s not simply as easy as just deciding to quit.
