LyxPro ceramic to alnico pickup swap
Swapped out the ceramic pickups in my LyxPro Stratocaster style guitar and recorded before and after sound/video. The Fleor alnico single-coil pickups were pretty highly rated on Amazon and seem to do a decent job of sounding a little better than the ceramic pickups that came with the guitar.

    Perfect amp for band practice and small/ medium gigs without a big PA but if you get a chance to mic it up do prop it up on stand/chairs and point up a bit...makes it fill the space. Very good demo, you took the time to explain the features and that Eminence gets rid of the top end harshness. 2 of those GA 10 sc 64 speakers by Eminence should be worth considering. Thanks.

      Go play each of them, and play multiple ones of the same models - each acoustic guitar is different. In general, I’d go with Martin for songs that I strum and the Taylor for fingerpicking. To me those are strengths of each, but of course each can do either very well.

I was playing a gig and had wireless rig for my guitar and so I went into the crowd while playing a solo (people seem to love that) and from the crowd perspective all I heard from the guitar was a fuzzy whine. I went back up on stage and next solo I switched to a Marshall Bluesbreaker II (from what I understand not nearly as good as the original, but still quite good) and went back out in the crowd, every note was distinct even though it had the same amount of gain. I sold the Green Rhino after that

      @HardwiredMusicMaker 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@009addettyapanchal9 You could try adjusting the neck truss rod to give the strings just a bit more room, but that also makes all the strings a little higher off the frets. If you keep the the adjustment as small as possible to just clean up the buzz it shouldn't be too bad. There's lots of videos on adjusting truss rods, but do be careful. Best suggestion would be to take it to a luthier to get that done or possibly get a fresh nut made - assuming it's rubbing on the first fret.

    I recently joined the Taylor family😁. Started playing when i was 12 (45 now). Played in various bands and owned all sorts of equipment. When I got married 15 years ago, I sold off most of my gear to fund my new family lol. About 6 years ago I sold my last guitar that wasn't that great and it just didn't inspire me to practice or play. I haven't owned an instrument during that time and had completely lost my love for playing music. Recently I took my son into GC to look at keyboards. Well I got the itch to play the guitar. Went into their acoustic cave and picked up a few, still just feeling uninspired and kind of sad that I just didn't want to play anymore. Then i grabbed a Taylor 214ce just because it wasn't locked up. All of a sudden the tone and resonance just completely reached into my soul and shook it around. I felt something different and more alive. I then tried the 114ce and felt the same thing. Well I came home and just couldn't stop thinking and daydreaming about how nice both of the mid-lower end Taylors were, and that they're within reach of my slim budget. About a week went by and now im constantly thinking about how badly I want to start playing again and thinking of what i needed to do to save up $900. Then I found a local private seller with a brand new 114CE-SB (sunburst). He basically gave it to me for $400. I've owned it for a week now and havent skipped a day and have been so motivated and inspired to keep practicing that it's like i never took any time off. Finger callouses are back and I'm confident that I'll only keep improving as I've regained my passion for playing because my new Taylor just makes playing so enjoyable.

      Short answers: All and yes. Long answer:all the frets can be played by beginners and pros alike, the trick is leaning the notes so you know which ones to play and when to play them

    Thanks for posting this review. I’ve been looking at the amp but put off by it’s apparent lack of volume. With your tweaks it may still be a good buy though. I’m confused by what you did to bypass the gain and would really appreciate your clarification? Around 4:36 in the video you say something like …. Take the thing out of here, add one of these and put it in here. It looks like you might have had your guitar connected to your board and then the lead from the pedal board plugged into the amp input? You disconnected from the input and used an adapter? to plug the board into the auxiliary input on the back of the unit. Any chance you can find the time to step through the process, including the names of the ‘things’ you used so I can shop for them ?

      You actually got it exactly right: You need a 1/4” to 1/8” adapter and plug the signal from your guitar or from your pedal board into the Aux Input on the back instead of going through the guitar input on top. This ups the volume and defeats the (to me) useless gain knob. Tone and volume still work fine. I use a right angle 1/8” adapter to put less strain on the Aux Input. I also use the Wampler Tummis to bring a little more warmth and body - and a bit of volume boost - to the rig. But I tried it with other overdrive and boost pedals to get similar improvements. I actually stopped using the eq pedal because the Tumnus has enough time shaping. Hope that helps.

    Was looking for a guitar In 2014 and strummed the 110e blew my socks off and knew I had to have it. What you said about how acoustics love to be played was beautiful.

    I wonder which Takamine you had? I've had a 1980 EF360 SC for about 20 years and it still sounds amazing, but needs a neck reset, so got a Yamaha A3R ARE, which sounds fantastic too, but slightly harder to play fingerstyle due to nut width and rounded fretboard. Been looking at the 214 CE for a while now due to the playability factor. Just gives me the space I need for the fingerstyle I've recently gotten into. I'm gonna need to save and get one asap. Thanks for the review!

      Thanks for watching. Can't rember the whole model number but I do know it was a G series. And yes, it was the ease of doing fingerstyle that convinced me to get my Taylor. Good luck

    Is this comparable to the Vintage Club 30 amp made in the 1990s?

      Hi - Unfortunately I've never tried or heard the Vintage Club 30. If someone can shed light on that would love to know.

    I purchased my Taylor 214ce and knew I was taking a gamble, but I also had faith in Taylor. I had played several 214s in the past and they were all great. I did luck out and my Taylor is an awesome one. I purchased it in 2020 and I'm still playing her. All Taylors do have a particular unique tone that's in every model.

      Congrats on finding the cream of the crop. All guitars can have variations in sound and feel with it. A take a bit of trial and error to find the right one, but when you do…

    Just bought batteries for the GTA4500....got them from ebay...chinese batteries. The batteries are starting to degrade after about a year....You can use a razor blade to pop it open and the battery has two wires to soldier in...I'll just cut the old battery wires and soldier the wires together.....easier then putting the wires on the board. They are rechargeable batteries....they don't last forever folks....obviously they are not using top quality batteries in these tuners. I'll probably get another year out of them but I have the batteries waiting to be replaced. I still like 'em better then the Cr2032 crap.

    Great video. Next month I will have the chance to try out the GS mini mahogony and the newer 112ce. But i'm also thinking of the Martin djr. I wish Taylor made a GS mini in 1 3/4" nut, It seems the perfect size for me otherwise. I also subscribed to you, I could listen to you play fingerstyle all day!
