I'm gonna not see the spoiler stuff because I haven't read them (I need a lot of catching up to do coz I just started last year and I'm still not near the end) but I think Donuts Games having full control is good for the future of the franchise. While the anime takeoff sucked alongside the cover songs that was removed on the EN ver., a lot of good changes happened to the games. We got ABCD and my obsession with Eimi, and of course, the ships are finally sailing! After they gave us HayaCoco, I definitely need more! I think the reason the translations being rushed is because the gap between EN and JP contents are narrowing with all the skipped collabs though the poor translations are definitely already present before the full transfer. And we just recently got Bunny senpai collab on the EN ver. so there's some hope we'll get more collabs (NSO Collab Manifest) and hopefully would give them more time to translate the stories without being rushed.

One thing I will miss is the merchandise. Being in collaboration with Bushiroad meant accessible merchandise at least in the U.S. both online and at conventions. I hope DONUTS GAMES starts doing global shipping and makes merchandise more accessible again.

I don’t play d4dj, but ngl hearing about how post-bushi writing got more down to earth and realistic isn’t too surprising. I played Donuts’s other game, Tokyo 7th Sisters for a long time, and imo that is the biggest strength of their writing team. It’s great to hear that they can finally spread their wings in d4dj too.

The opposite happened with Bang Dream (Bandori), Craft Egg left Bushiroad with that bag. I'm guessing they got tired of Project sekai (Colorful Palette) being associated with Bandori (fmr. With Craft Egg).

now i understand the whole situation (surface level) i picked up D4DJ again since i just barely play it around 2 years ago. The songs slaps, holy, never i thought i would enjoy some idol music but here we are and yeah it's sad to just private the anime because i want to binge watch it so i can understand D4DJ more far from what i see in the games

Lyrical lily does have a canon paring with Kurumi and Miiko as in the event Come Closer To The Nano Distance Kurumi asks Miiko to marry her and Miiko accepts and calls Kurumi her treasure

I don't play D4DJ anymore but I can only see bushiroad leaving as a good thing for them because of what's been happening with bandori ever since craft egg left 😭

While I’ll miss the anime being available on TH-cam, I think this’ll be for the best in the end. Bushiroad may be big but it has screwed over soo many franchises, donuts put soo much care into D4DJ and bushiroad began to see it as a collab machine. I hope we can get back to the older D4DJ soon.

Welcome back! I think the translation quality dropped due to the content gap between EN and JP narrowing with all the skipped collabs. Because of the resulting pressure, translations may have been getting more rushed.

Taking the anime off TH-cam was such a big mistake, it was accessible to everyone and made the anime more well-known But if that's the price we have to pay to have the ships become Canon, I'd say it's worth it. Bushi is very much in favor of Yuribait but never had the courage to make anything official, HayaKoko was a very big surprise for this type of game

randomly got this in my recommended, im not that into d4dj (i only play it for the rhythm game) so i dont know ANYTHING about the character stories.....but for some reason i randomly decided photon maiden was my favorite and i have all of their initial 4*. i also arbitrarily decided that noa is my favorite character, so finding out that theres such a split opinion about her is CRAZY. good video though, thank you for explaining her story she is still my favorite character
