Are you guys are worried about who is going to pay the progress in Nicaragua? Let me tell you; my guess is that will be the nicaraguans, in one way or another; at least these roads, hospitals, schools, and recreative centers are bing build in Nicaragua's soil. I do not know what is your nationality; but, I believe that you should be worried about who is paying the wars that USA is involved in Ukraine, and in the Meadle East, instead of Nicaragua. In my opinion, is the American people, and rest of the world. As all we know, wars are a very profitable business for a few weapons industry"s owners. So, are you ok guys paying for destruction, and death, among others despicable things that these non sense wars brings upon all of us? Like I said, Nicaraguans will pay for something that make sense.

Yes I agree. I often think nica is an island in Central America & has grown slowly & more organically. I believe adding better & direct flights (from North America hubs) will be a major turning point for Nicaragua.

I don't think that Nicaragua will become like Costa Rica. First, they don't advertise for tourists in North America like Costa Rica has for a couple decades. Second, Nicaragua has been an adversary of the US for many decades so the US state dept will always advise against travel to Nicaragua, inflate the crime numbers and dangers while downplaying the crime and dangers of their allies and cooperative nations in the region such as Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Columbia and Mexico. Even when El Salvador was the murder capital of the world, they rated Nicaragua, one of the safest countries in the world as being as dangerous. Of all the countries in Latin America, Nicaragua will be the last to suffer from a huge influx of tourists and immigrants from north america I believe.

Are the beaches nice? Well my favorite is playa tesoro, but I do like el Transito and las penitas. But yes the beaches and Leon are very safe! Nicaragua is safe and a great family destination!

With respect, even as Canada declines, note it is a Canadian salary that gets you a good life down there. Millions who make the money down there try to come up here. It's complicated, and many Canadians-- ones that can afford to travel-- have immense global privilege. Comparing Canada and Nicaragua without noting this is apples and oranges. Enjoy both places if you can....

First rule, realize that 'Real estate Agent' literally means nothing in Nicaragua. Indeed, you have to pay to register as a RE agent, but the government has no standards or requirements for what that means. Funny, those bureaucrats! Second rule, stay away from American expats giving advice on real estate, unless you want to pay crazy prices.

Nicaragua is a wonderful country with fabulous residents. But that alone is not enough to make one want to move there. The problem is that the government of Nicaragua is a fascist dictatorship which has absolutely no respect for individual rights or property rights. Seizing property is commonplace and the government actually endorses its partisans seizing the property and other assets of anyone who speaks against it. If you move to Nicaragua, just assume that anything you take with you no longer belongs to you. Assume that you are giving it to Ortega and his stooges. Also, if you say the wrong thing, expect to end up in prison. Expect to be fleeced by the police, it's how they support themselves. If you love the rule of law, stay away from Nicaragua. It no longer exists there. And this is such a shame because the Nicaraguan people are lovely and deserve much better. But for now, Nicaragua exists for Ortega and his goons and everyone else is dispensible ... and their property is up for grabs. Go live in Nicaragua if you like adventure and if you have nothing to lose. Otherwise, stay clear.

Our family owns a beach front house, and we have 3 Canadian families living in the same area, they are very nice people and locals love them. Thank you for saying so many beautiful things about our country, we love people visiting us and families coming here and making our county theirs.
