    Ok, I just found the problem why the ice maker keeps on freezing. There is a heating element under the ice tray that is supposed to come on and heat the ice just enough to loosen the ice so it can drop out of the tray. Mine is not coming on, I took hair dryer and blew hot air on bottom of ice tray to remove ice maker. Thawed it out for several hours then replaced it back in the refrigerator, wah -lah it started making ice and dumping it again. There is either a timer ,sensor, or thermostat not working properly. This is my problem with mine, so the question is, Why can't samsung fix this problem?

    Could use your advice. All the qualified heating contractors have left my area, because there is no new construction going on. I can't get anyone to even come to the house unless I agree to buy a new system, and I can't afford the $13 - 15K they want. My boiler is an old Iron Fireman. The flames are nice and blue.... Double wall flue pipe passes from the boiler through the garage wall, turns at a right angle and goes through the attic and out the roof. For the last 4 years I have had fumes in the house intermittently. Never enough to register on a CO meter, but enough to give me headaches. Gas company has checked thoroughly for natural gas leaks and found none. It occurred to me yesterday that two months before the problem developed, I had a new roof put on the house. We never had ridge vents, only gable vents. The contractor insisted on cutting and installing a ridge vent. My winter gas consumption almost doubled, even though I reduced the room temperature from 73 to 63 degrees to save money! Could the colder temperature in the attic be reducing the draft of the flue pipe? Mind you, this is double wall pipe, 8" outside diameter, but it is VERY cold in the attic. And the flue pipe passes through the full 10 foot height of the unheated, un-insulated garage and 6 1/2 feet of cold attic. After that first cold winter, I complained to the roofer. but he would not remove the ridge vents. There is only one roof contractor in the area and NO insulation contractors. I have mild Parkinsons and don't have good balance, but think I could get up into that attic and wrap insulation around that pipe if you think it would help and if you told me what kind of insulation might work. I also think I could wrap the pipe in the garage. I'm pretty desperate.

    After playing the defrost and refreeze for 3 years, I finally called Samsung and was able to get the ice maker replaced and resealed at no cost because of the class action lawsuit. The repairman was very knowledgeable and helpful. It took about an hour to replace…so far it is still making ice after about a month has passed.

    i fixed my fridge non-dispensing water/ice issue by : 1) remove the water container(supplied with the fridge) first, mine is non-plumbing fridge 2) insert the 50ml syringe(filled with water) into the water container hole 3) press on the button sensor (beside the container location) to simulate(or bluff the fridge) that u had put back the container 4) when u hear the fridge pump machine sound 5) compress your syringe to fill the water pipe(in the fridge) with water. some water will leak so prepare a cloth to wipe 6) Voila. done.

      @ranger178 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you should be able to replace it with any pressure relief designed for same pressure.

  • @johnal4560
    @johnal4560 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you I removed the relief valve and the pipe that comes out of boiler is kind of rusted and lots of rusted metal and calcium buildup was inside it that i removed i know it wont survive 2 or 3 more valve replacement if i had an extension so that extension stays on and the new relief valve get installed to the extension so is that gonna be ok ??? not affecting the valve pressure or so on

  • @johnal4560
    @johnal4560 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi does the over pressure relieve can be reset orb once it opens you to replace it ` mine opened while i wsa flashing the system and open the W atts and left it open and closed the pipes

    • @deaconbartels
      @deaconbartels 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John. If the relief valve has opened and is leaking, it must be replaced. If it's an older valve (over a year or so), it should be replaced. Of course, you'll have to remedy whatever caused the over pressure to occur.

    Wanted to add a current comment to this (04Dec21). Our Samsung refrigerator has been out of warranty for 2-years and when I contacted tech support today, they agreed to repair/replace the ice maker at no cost. Can’t really complain about a company that (ultimately) recognizes their error and agrees to fix it. I didn’t even need to push them hard.

    My PRV is still blowin off at 30 psi after changing exp tank make up valve tridicator and HW coil on a 2 zone 2 story Burnham oil fired boiler. What am i missing? Could air in system be the cause?

    • @ranger178
      @ranger178 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you could start at fill valve manually close valve to system before fill valve drain some water check pressure, so it is down at 12 psi. then heat up system see if it goes up only a couple pounds and works normally the fill valve probably gets dirt in it and keeps adding water. air in tank can be checked with pressure gauge and if your pressure gauge says normal 12 to 20 psi range and water leaks from pressure relief it is probably bad. if you close fill valve and system slowly rises with not being on the hot water supply might be leaking back into system at coil. or you could be getting to boiling point and pressure spikes as water boils if boiler control runs to hot you have to check each item one at a time.

    Samsung Canada arranged, despite my RF28HFEDBSR unit being 3 years out warranty, to have my refrigerator fixed at no cost to me. They replaced everything described in this video, including the tray (which was cracked by the ice accumulation). They applied sealant to prevent air leaks as is recommended in the video. The Ice Maker is working well and after two weeks there is no sign of abnormal frosting. I am pleased as punch!

      After waiting 3 weeks for the replacement tray, I called Samsung. They passed me on to an Executive who told me they would NOT live up to the commitment voiced by their repairman. I purchased the ice tray assembly for $cdn 130.00 and in view of your comments, I count myself lucky. The Ice Maker is now working fine. I've found NO frost or icing for the last two months.

    Great video! Here’s an update. I contacted Samsung last week. Apparently you don’t need to persuade them to replace the ice maker even though it may be out of warranty. I did the online chat with a Samsung rep and they offered to replace the parts (and labor) free of charge. I guess that’s a result of the law suit. I told some friends who are having the same problem and they called Samsung. Same for them. No questions asked. Their ice makers are being replaced even though the fridge is no longer under warranty. The tech can’t come out for another week, so we’ll see.
