If you have say a left stride error you can easily test this.. Since the controller has the same connector form factor both on board and stride motor you can actually test which side is bad or if the board is bad by swapping the left and right motor leads around on the board. Change Power Entry Jack on a Stairmaster 4200PT Stepper
Great job. I looked around to solve this problem and got all kinds of answers, even from the manufacture itself. Your simplicity in explaining it made it work. Thanks.
I have a NordicTrack commercial x22i Mine suddenly stops and then starts again but not with fan on, just does randomly during the workout.
Someone else had the same issue and it was actually their motor controller board being bad. Had to replace it. Here's a video we did a while ago on replacing a drive motor in an X9i: th-cam.com/video/jw6tfjODnGs/w-d-xo.html Should be the same or a very similar process since incline trainers are very similar. In any case we recommend making sure to contact a technician to properly diagnose the issue: www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/technicians Motor controller boards are very costly 😬 Hope you got a warranty on that machine...
I have a walking pad and it juts or jerk foward intermittently any thing I can do for that?
Can you give us the name of the machine?
You saved me from destroying my treadmill, thanks mate!!
Glad to have saved another life! 😊 Appreciate the comment!
Just picked one up for 250$ off of marketplaces
Nice! Great deal man 👍
❤Thanks for the video. Any tips if the treadmill seems to work fine BUT the speed is slow by about 25% compared to the displayed speed (distance as well).
My issue is that resistance does change but at the highest setting it still feels weak. I was wondering if adding more magnets would improve this? I have a Sole E35.
Sounds like an issue with how your external brake cable may be wrapped around your resistance motor cam. We made a video showing how this is properly assembled: th-cam.com/video/ecJMwxd74f4/w-d-xo.html Let us know if this helps!
listen to Clark Kent, he knows.
You have no idea how many times I have been referred to as that man 😂 Appreciate the comment bro! 😁
Thank you so much for the video. I'm trying to fix a Freemotion recumbent bike. The problem is, on the easiest setting it is harder than I want. On the harder settings it is difficult to even peddle. I want to set it so there is less resistance overall. Would love your thoughts on how to fix this. Thanks
In theory you could remove the cam and set it to a different position on the resistance motor that would cause the cable to be pulled more so there is even less resistance. But of course this is in theory, and we would not recommend altering the original setup of the machine unless the machine came not setup right by the previous owner or manufacturer. There are actually numbers on some resistance motors that look like a clock which locate what position the cam is in. If yours has this, that may be helpful with adjusting the position and testing resistance.
Awesome! Thanks!
No problem!
I have some questions?

Hello there i am Subscribed to your channel in youtube i have a problem with the screen of ubk 825 precor bike not working even though the power is reaching it. When i starts riding the bike, there are red and green lights flashing behind the screen in the electronic part where the electronic components are located. However, it does not work. Is there any advice for me to know whats the problem ? I have a model ubk 825 Can you help plz to solve the problem Thank you 🙏
When you say "it does not work" what exactly do you mean by that? Does the console clearly show on the screen data or is it flickering or fading? Does the console not function properly when pressing buttons? Does the resistance work on the machine? And when you say you see red and green lights, is that within the console when removing the backing of it or is that the screen itself when you are about to ride?
Hi. Thanks for the informative video. I've been using my elliptical for a few years. The tension cable is in good shape and is tied correctly. Recently, I am getting a 'motor error' message when I try to increase resistance. The motor moves the cable only slightly, then the error message appears.
You may need a new motor. What is the model of your machine?
Helpful
Glad to be of help!
Is it safe to pick these up and move them around?
These are non-foldable machines with hefty weight to them. It is safer to use a four wheeler cart to place underneath and move it around than hand lift.
I need some help can you contact me i have a horizon ct 5.3 its like 15 yrs old i keep tightening it and it keeps switching sides where it gets lose
We made a video on how to properly tighten your walking belt. This video we made might help:th-cam.com/video/njObPUEbdIM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uTkzEFOce14Vh0fH In any case we recommend contacting a technician to further diagnose the issue. well done~
Thank You! 😄
Thank you so much. I’ll be using these instructions to try to fix my bike.
No problem! Glad to hear it!
Hola. En Chile no venden la cubierta para mi trotadora. Que tipo de madera deberia buscar para reemplazar? Veo que es un MDF recubierto pero necesito el nombre tecnico. Gracias.
You are going to have to make a custom deck from composite board with a phenolic coating. Unfortunately, we do not have any more info than that to help you find what you are looking for. We are based in the United States.
Sorry to hear that. I fixed ours last night.
Nice! How did you fix it?
Check the wiring on the motor. Mine are broken.
Thanks for the advice. We already parted it out and the price to fix is just not worth it to be honest.
I spliced the wire back together.
😮
👌
Treadmill lights up but it won't work it clicks of
We experienced a similar issue and found that the upright wire harness just wasn't seated properly. Might want to try unplugging and replugging that. Here's a video we made on it:th-cam.com/users/shortscwygLMej5qs If anything, we recommend getting a local tech to see the issue: www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/technicians
So my drive belt is has a bunch of shavings, but it’s also loose, a new belt would fix both problems?
If there is a ton of drive belt shavings and the ribbing looks pretty worn (might have splits in it), we recommend replacing it. You will have to adjust the drive belt to be taut if it is loose. Treadmills have a way of adjusting the placement of the drive motor so the drive belt is pretty tight when it is installed. If you need another drive belt, we may have your model on our website. Please check www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/ for your particular model of machine.
Here is also a video we made on installing and uninstalling drive belts: th-cam.com/video/FM1Tdf3O9l8/w-d-xo.html
i love u for this
Appreciate the love, thank you!😁👍
Is this the same as tightening belt tension? My treadmill came with the belt all the way to the left so I had to do a number of turns on the left side to shift it, but I'm worried I've tightened the belt too much. However it is now in the centre.
Yes, this is adjusting the tension of the belt or how tight the belt is. To see whether the treadmill belt is too tight, you can slip your hand underneath the belt. If you can reach across the halfway point of the deck or belt with somewhat ease, your belt is too loose. If your hand has a very rough time getting to the halfway point, your belt is too tight. You want to feel some tension as you reach across the deck, your hand almost making it to about the halfway across, but your belt should not be so tight your really struggling. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info! I had a bit of a play around with it tonight and adjusted both sides. Definitely better than yesterday in terms of tightness, but I think I may tweak again tomorrow as it might be slightly too loose now, as my hand could reach the centre.
Great. My motor works then. Now what ?
Well, it could be your motor controller board not sending signals to your drive motor. In any case we recommend calling a technician to further diagnose your issue: www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/technicians Here is our database to look up one in your area.
Sounds simple enough. TY. Btw, when your name came up after the video, for some reason, my eye caught Hydra Fit Sex Exchange...lol😂
Lol Glad our video helped you out😁
Went to many videos only one that was really detailed thanks alot !
No problem! Thanks for the comment 😁
Longer stride is better. Trust me.
Unless you don't have the space for it.
@@derekb2817Space is a factor for sure. But also another thing to keep in mind is everyone's body is different. Some people may prefer a shorter stride due to their body type. This is why having adjustable stride on an elliptical is 🤌 Great feature to have!
Thank you for the video brother, what if the belt is completely seized? I am 90% sure I have a bad motor
In any case we recommend hiring a technician to be for sure about what the issue is. Here is our tech database to find someone near you:www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/technicians But if it really is the drive motor, just know that motors usually cost around $300 to upwards of almost $1000. That is just the part alone and you would have to add the charges for having a tech come over and install the piece. So, if your machine is a pretty old one, it might be better to just invest in something new or at least a very well kept used piece.
I know this is irrelevant to what you're talking about but I was wondering can you upgrade the consoles from p30 to p80 on an open stride AMT 835 like on the 885
We have tried to do things like this in the past but have come across communication errors due to the version of the firmware in the lower control board. It is best to stick with the console that the model of machine came with unless the manufacturer offers upgrades.
what if you put too much lube?
Too much lube can lead to lubricant spilling out on the sides of the tread and getting on the belt which is DANGEROUS to run on. It can also alter running performance. You might want to clean some out with a towel. You can do this by loosening the walking belt that way you can get under it. There are several websites you can search to see how to properly get excess lubricant off of the top of your running belt if some got on top of it.
I have an older model Nordic Track elliptical machine vintage 2011. It is called stowaway model but part number and s/n got painted over no longer available . The control panel is mounted in the front with the drum wheel behind the user. I feel like the tensioner motor or cable is the problem . I guess I need to take the cladding off the rear of this unit to find the problem.
If it's resistance issue related, then the resistance motor or the external brake cable may be the issue. It could also be the internal brake cable. If you want to see that where we work on an elliptical instead of a bike you can watch our video here: th-cam.com/video/VnzIuItOeRA/w-d-xo.html
excellent video.
Thank you! 😊
The intro of this video was perfect. I have a broken machine and thats exactly what i did with moving it to another room. Thanks for the info.
No problem! 😁
What about the self powered ones where the display cuts off while in use? I go more than 20 strides per minute.
A lot of the time it's just a battery issue. The battery inside may not have enough juice to power the machine due to it sitting idle too long or just has a lot of years of use. You may need to replace it. Here is a video we did about this on a life fitness elliptical: th-cam.com/video/mAejM-Op7q0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oUBtL4CftDzyCcCZ
If you can't seem to fix the issue yourself, we recommend calling a local technician to look at the piece. Here is our tech database to find one near you:www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/technicians
I can't remove the brake wheel (green disk) from the shaft. I tried wd40, I tried putting the nut back to hold the shaft and turning. But I am not strong enough to loosen it off the shaft....
It took us some elbow crease to get it off as well. Good amount of force and pulling, but you want to be careful so as to not damage the drum. It is very flimsy. If anything, we recommend hiring a tech to do the job: www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/technicians
I have the opposite problem, it has no resistance no matter what level I put it on.
Sounds like an electrical connection issue. Console may not be sending a signal to the resistance motor to move. This can be caused by a damaged console, broken wire, or even the resistance motor could be shot. We recommend seeking out a tech to diagnose the issue. Here is out tech database to find a tech near you: www.hydrafitnessexchange.com/technicians
Thank you. Chinese directions are the worst and not very helpful.
Glad to be of service! 😁
Excellent video. Thank you
Appreciate the comment! 😁
@@hydrafitnessexchange even though my machine is different, you gave me the confidence to open mine up and figured out my resistance motor was just going haywire and randomly turning by itself. By Thursday hopefully I'll have the part and it fixed and working out again!
@@ambm_4 Wow! Very touching. Super happy you gained confidence from our content. Let us know how it goes with the repair! We would like to know if that indeed solved your issue. Other people may be going through the same weird issue and could benefit from reading this.
What about the person's weight? I am 270 and the belt moves me standing still at 1 MPH but stepping at that speed stops the belt until the next step. At 3 MPH I can walk normally.
We suggest you consider investing in a machine that has an over 300 lb weight capacity as well as a machine with a stronger motor if that is the case. There are better machines out there for the job.

Hi, what kind of water is it recommended ? Normal water (city water) or distilled water ? Thanks
There are debates and many recommendations. Regardless, refer to whoever you purchased the rower from and make sure not to place rower in direct sunlight. Also make sure to use purification tablets as recommended by the manufacturer.
Nice one! I really appreciate the advice👍😁! Thanks👌😎
Glad you enjoyed the video! Appreciate the comment 😁
Should a treadmill be plugged into a surge protector or directly into the wall outlet? I’ve read conflicting info on this
We recommend into a dedicated wall outlet on one circuit. Treadmills require a lot of amp draw and you do not want other appliances on the same circuit as your treadmill. This can cause the internal parts of the machine to wear out a lot quicker leading to costly repairs. If you choose to plug anywhere else, please use an arc filter. We provide these through our website if you would like to purchase one: hydrafitnessparts.com/products/golds-gym-proform-nordictrack-epic-weslo-treadmill-wall-arc-filter-arc14?keyword=arc%20filter
Can you tell me where your video is for changing the resistance on an elliptical? Thank you.
We put a link in the description and top corner of the video when I mentioned it. But here is the link: th-cam.com/video/VnzIuItOeRA/w-d-xo.html hope this helps!
I have replaced the deck of my treadmill and I had to re-tension my belt. I lubed it and it doesn’t slip, but the speeds, which I measure using a Runn sensor, are slower than before. Any ideas what might cause this? I did not touch any settings. Could it be belt tension?
It could be that the belt is too tight. Your hand should be able to reach about halfway across the underside of the belt, but no farther than that for proper tightness. Be careful with overtightening because this can actually cause the belt to fold and create more problems for your machine.
@@hydrafitnessexchange Thanks! It seems to have worked -- I had to find the optimum between the belt being too loosse and too tight. Tricky thing to do, though.
