Sorry, only just seen your comment. I find it fine out there, even on the A1. I do keep an oil radiator on, so the lowest the heat gets when I print is 18. Humidity is around 60%, but I’ve had no issues at all. I did at the start have problems with the temperature changes overnight, but since having the oil radiator it’s been fine.

The A1 is great, but I wouldn’t print with it if I’m in the same room. If money wasn’t a problem, I’d probably go P1S. The AMS is a bit quicker on the A1, but the P1S will print a bit faster, so I doubt you’d notice much speed difference. My go to machine is still the X1C, then the A1 if that is busy. Hope that helps.

@ thanks for replying , I know the X1C is a great machine but I don’t need all the features, comparing the a1 to x1c is significantly quieter? Will you maybe sleep in the same room, talking about noise no about fumes.

I guess that depends on you, but I would say probably not and even with filters, I wouldn’t fancy sleeping in the same room, even if I could put up with the noise

you just select the side (press 1 or 2), then set your settings and it will do just the side selected. You can also do different settings per side and sync the end time

Yeah, it did reach 1kW, but just very briefly. I’ve not tried measuring it on a longer run, but even at these numbers I’m happy with it :)

1kW for ~20 seconds = 1/180 of a kWh = something like 0.1 cents to heat up the bed.

Yeah, it really is. It’s a good printer. I just wish the build plate was bigger. In reality though, I don’t print much that doesn’t fit it

I used two spools of the gold and 1.5 spools of the grey/black

Also, yeah, 0.4mm hotend

@@RSW_io Thanks. I'm thinking about doing the blue metal as the main color with the darker gray/black metal as the secondary color. Already bought the files just need to get done with the other projects I already have going on. Haha.

Did you try changing the device and Siri languages? I haven’t tried it since, but I remember having to do both

I’ve done a few, but they aren’t big enough for me to print one that will fit my head, well not in one go.

I’ve not had any problems, but I have seen others having layer shifts when higher. The P1P/P1S is probably a safer bet for you

That might mean you don’t have cruise control then sorry. Although I thought they all had it, but I’ve never actually looked. Or, perhaps the newer versions have it all on the steering wheel now. I’ve not been in a newer version to know

I’d miss the X1. It’s great for ABS etc. Plus I like two bigger machines to finish projects quicker 😉

I just take it to the recycling centre at the moment. I’ve seen some people melt it down and mix it in moulds with resin, which looks cool, so I might try that one day

Yeah, having the four tubes go into the hot end will help with that and save some time. The A1 is a great machine, I’m happy with it
