Thanks a lot for sharing this, it's so informative. Helped me a lot with a GeoHECRAS project.
Please help, when I created a new geometry, there is no Rivers, Cross sections, Storage Area, ... on the list
Thanks
existe alguna manera de modelar un culvert a lo largo de todo el cauce, para simular un embovedado
Amazing
Thanks for your tutorial! I think you have made a mistake. You should have named the RS 50 cross section to RS 75. You can see that from the geometry schematic as well.
Hi Ilias, thank you for watching the video. The video is only for a demo purpose but to answer your question, you can define cross section river stationing either based on the river chainage (Flow length) or it could be in any increment.
Sir I try to model my culvert with Hec-ras after modeling with HY-8. When I look water surface profile it seems little confusing. Ican t give meaning to increase surface level before reaching culvert structure. (I guess there is hydraulic jump maybe. )But I am not sure about that I think maybe I skip to input some datas. Can you check for verificiation I send as an link of photos. Thank you. pasteboard.co/JOXPQXf.jpg
thanks for this vedio
Sir, please make a vedio on how to determine flood affected on a stretch of river by collecting sufficient data from government.🙏
What type of project you would like us to use in the demo with the data collected from the govt agencies?
Very good
Hi there Can i get hold of you somehow please? Email or phone number
Hi Kristen, You may drop us an email, rascounsellor@gmail.com
Hi Kirsten, You may drop us an email " rascounsellor@gmail.com "
Hi, may I know for the profile part, what is the difference between 5 ( Profile 1) and 10 (Profile 2), is that discharge or else? Thank you
Profiles could be any flood frequency (ex. 2yr, 5yr, 10yr, 50yr, 100yr, 500yr) and 5 and 10 are the discharge values for different return periods.
MY NAME ROSMINA ZUCHRI FROM INDONESIA. THANKS YOUR BASIC HECRAS TH-cam
Why section 25 is not in the exact middle?
Because cross section 25 is at a distance of 25 from XS 0 and XS 50 is at a distance of 50 from XS 25. I hope that answer your question 👍.
I have done Experimental analysis on straight channel with difference in depth of sand layers and have plotted the graphs between (1) Length of Flume vs Depth of Sand (2) Length of Flume vs Depth of Water (3) Length of Flume vs Discharge (4) Length of Flume vs Froude Number and analysed the results. Kindly Help me by Doing this same analyses using HEC RAS
Thank you!
i salute you for the educating video, but need to know what method is to be adopted in taking the elevations at every river station .also, is each elevation at every cross section is independent on each other? thanks
Can any one help me ? When me compute stady flows canot " error strarting process: ResGeomWriten Command line:c\program file\hec ras\5.0.6\the specifeid executable is not a valid for the os plaform" Me using Hec-ras 5.0.6 I even enter data in this hec ras, I still don't want it
it seems hec ras dont run well in apple devices. You need to install a virtual machine or use a Windows computer
great and very educating.
Hey, I have a few questions, but first thanks for uploading such a helpful video: 1) At 6:18 I think the screen lags, where do you open the "Measurement Line" window/tool? 2) In the steady Analysis, I tried to choose the option "Mixed", but got an error "Missing boundary in River 1, profile #: 1". Just wondering if you knew what could that be. When I choose "Subcritial" the program computes successfully. 3) At 0:15, you have a pic with a flooding simulation, after doing the Steady FLow Analysis we are able to that polygon/simulation in Ras Mapper? I Hope you have the time to spare me with such insight, if not, still thanks for the great vid.
Sorry for the late response. 1. Press the Ctrl key for the measurement. 2. If you are sing Mixed or Supercritical flow regime then you need to define both upstream and downstream boundary condition.
Agh! Text directions with annoying music. No thanks!
Thank you for your feedback.
Please make a vid on how to work on winSRM... Its really imp.
bnjour monsieur est ce je peut faire la modélisation d'ecoulement dans un dérivation provisoire dun barrage (pertuit)
Yes, you can use HEC-RAS dor modeling inline structures such as dams.
Where I can get projection file for my study area and terrain surface
You can search online or use ArcGIS database projection library. Terrain data can be downloaded online from NASA SRTM website but it is not that precise.
THANKS THANKS AND VERY THANKS .............................
You’re welcome
Thanks, when I start adding the culvert, I get an error message saying that I have to put upstream and downstream boundary station. this is the step when you added the 41 station second 00:32
You need to check the river stationing ID that you have defined for the bridge. It should be in between the bounding XS’s river stationing ID.
Great video
Thanks... 👍
where can I find the file (projection) and the file (terrain surface) for my zone ?
You can search online or use ArcGIS database projection library. Terrain data can be downloaded online from NASA SRTM website but it is not that precise.
thank you very much. very helpful indeed.
Cheers
Hi ! I am from Turkey and I'am a civil engineer. This video is working ! Thank you.
Thank you :)
Yeah excellent work, the latest release is amazing a well, drop by also in my channel for my 1d-2d tutorials all done in hecras 5.0.4
Thanks.
