The amount of oh shits this scene gave was insane
I love how in the end of the show Dr. Marco comes to heal Roy's eyes. He demands to heal Jean first. He wanted Jean to walk before he can see.
1:54 “Looks Like you’re our fifth” Fifth Seal Revelation 9, 1968?
Aiyooo.....just keep going....try to make friends with everyone who comes out of the portal.......☺
it's always taking the most precious thing to you. Mustang wanted to see the future of his country. All and Ed wanted to hold the hands of their mother. Ed's professor something about baby birth and internal organs.
In FMA 2003 he would have been permanently blind
Is this song Dissidents Creed when Mustang loses his sight? It sounds similar
The homunculus that attacked the frog dude didn't rain him down in body parts, I'm amazed! The Sin of playing with your food!
The way I've always seen it, Truth's payments are always representative for each person who sees the Gate. Mustang got off with just blindness because he was forced to see knowledge he didn't want, and wasn't meant to have. So, Truth blinded him to protect Mustang from what he saw
I just noticed this, but Mustang was able to pinpoint Envy's eyes while being charged. He's that precise but a blinded Bradley evaded his spark and used the explosion as a boost. Such battle IQ.
Truth/god was wrong for taking his sight
Enghslish dub so bad😨😰🤬😡
I just realized. Similar to ed abd al included their blood as material. The boys were unaware their own bodies would be used as material. As clarified by father anything within the transmutation is material for the transmutation thus included in the x change of truth . The true center of the circle is the exception. It’s why mustang sight was taken even if he was unwilling he was material for the transmutation just like pride body was who performed the transmutation using the scientist knowledge and body. Pieces of pride were taken. Both mustang and pride were material for transport via the portal of truth as their body was deconstructed and reconstructed. Because pride is made with a philosopher stone the souls which make up his being were taken . It is why pride body starts to fall apart. He no longer has the souls needed to sustain him. Edward was able to use the portal of truth to transport himself and ling because he used the souls in xchange.,
Oh look, it's Sukuna
Can we talk about how Roy had both of his hands stabbed and the entire rest of the series except for the epilogue takes place in the same day, and he's back to snapping his fingers in no time? Hell, even in this clip he's using his hands with no issues after going through the portal. Did the portal heal his hands, or something? Or just anime logic?
I guess its not going to rain anymore
The concept of "truth" doesn't really work out. Later with Father it acts like it's fully aware of morals and earning what you seek through hardship. Forcing Mustang into opening the gateway against his will shouldn't be accepted by the entity for similiar reasons.
Scar or Mei could've destroyed the ground below the circle...
I never understood why Mustang had to pay a price for this transmutation. He was very literally forced into doing it by Pride - so shouldn't *Pride* be the only one paying here?
Wrath and Pride got down to business so quickly 😭
It goes unsaid.. but this dude with gold tooth is one wicked guy. One of father’s toughest humans- besides Kimbley and Marco- but he only gets a few seconds of screen time.
Just finished rewatching the series for the upteenbillionth time. God, it just gets better each time
Yeah, I don't like the logic of Brotherhood and the manga where you can force somebody to open the gate and it takes something away from them without something else in exchange that they wanted. It really doesn't make sense to be able to force somebody else to do that.
You can just call him Roy. We all know you love him.
i love how the father/son relationship ended here, so badass!!
Imagine pulling that on someone imagine putting someone and equal exchange in their like taking both their legs just so you can get some better knowledge of alchemy
Ah it's been about 5 years now... It's roughly about time to rewatch this masterpiece of media
THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!!!
I like how Roy was the only one whose punishment was reversible without a massive price to pay or lesson to learn. It only seems fair that Truth would essentially let him off easy since he didn't perform this human transmutation of his own free will.
Just realised who omni-man reminds me of...
Roy really saw ⚫️
God damn the VO for Roy killed it Travis was amazing
I still don't understand how he could be force to do it. How is he at the gate and not the doctor?
Hohenheim wanted a normal human life, but was punished with immortality. Izumi wanted a healthy child, but was cursed with infertility. Edward would give anything for his family, and it cost him a literal arm and a leg. Alphonse is an emotional and sensitive person, but is stuck in an unfeeling metal shell. Mustang had a grand vision for the world, but can no longer see the fruits of his labor. Hiromu Arakawa is an amazing writer.
The one thing I never understood was how they forced mustang to commit human transmutation, doesn't he have to perform the alchemy to see the truth? If anything pride used the circle why did it send roy?
From mumy understanding, pride created the circle but mustang activated it. The humunculi cannot use alchemy because they don't have a gate of truth.
Okay... Nitpicking here... A palm can't actually bear a person's weight, so Mustang could have pulled free of the swords... By absolutely wrecking his hands...
he could have still cause some friction with his fingers to light things up, but even then his gloves symbols were damaged. He can't use his flame alchemy if he doesn't have a proper array, and the worst that could happen is that he will still be forced to use human transmutation with severed limbs
@@countereclipse good point on the alchemy symbols being broken.
When did this happen in the show?
The Dub is actually not that bad HOLY!
the english dub for fma is one of the best ones ngl i often rewatch it with the dubs over the subs
Is this original or brotherhood?
Brotherhood
Roy is literally an alchemic (g)rape victim damn
Imagine if the kid went up against Shikamaru 😂
As a fma fan and and doctor who fan, the absolute flashbscks i get with any line about who turned out the lights
The haunting music that plays as soon as we realize he was blinded is just so frightening. It’s perfect.
And then the big fight happens and Riza becomes his eyes thus cementing the fact that they are yhe two most badass characters in the show
I still feel like Truth took it easy on Mustang because he knew the circumstances. Mustang didn't lose his eyes, just his base sight. Later they proved it was something he could easily get back with a Philosopher's Stone, so it wasn't as severe as what all the others lost. He still charged him a toll for the benefits of the Gate, but gave him a discount.
Honestly, it could've gone so much worse for Mustang...
Roy Mustang who easily killed 2 homunculi is quickly defeated by mortally wounded Bradley, who lost his ultimate eye.
Edward, hearing the gate sentence: OH NO NONONONO
It takes something very precious away from them, in which they have to learn to live without and overcome
Truth isn't just punishing people who try human transmutation, he's testing them. To see if they can endure the pain and move forward. Edward realizes that at the end of the series.
