How you doin? I just spent 7 years as a full time sole caregiver and am soon to hit the road in my camper. Follow me as I transition from life in Florida to being a full time camper.
I have a 5000 btu unit and added a plug in thermostat. I tested it here for 4 hours one day in 92 degree heat. I had the the rest to turn on at 80 and off at 74 degrees. I used 48 % of my 2000 watt solar generator or 960 watts. That translates to 240 watts per hour on my small window unit.
@@CherylWittenbergYou are very welcome and thankyou for watching my videos. Remember John Mitchum’s commercial for beef-“Beef, it’s what’s for dinner.” 🤣
I can relate to your anxiety from caretaking your parents. I was the sole caretaker of my daughter when she got brain cancer at age 35. She passed 8 yrs ago and I'm still not the person I used to be, it takes very little stress to feel overwhelmed and panicky. It will be interesting to see where you go before you end up in Q. You have enough power to supply everyone in Q!!
Nice update, you got most of the RV tour done. I really like that shelf, that's handy. Hope things turn out OK on the biopsy. I have a test coming up next month that I'm dreading....the stress of waiting for results while hoping they don't find any cancer is hard to deal with.
Hey JrzJoe. Just subscribed. I have my brand new 2024 Aliner which is what attracted me to your videos. I'm looking forward to learning from you and your changes to your rig as I'm hoping to full time also. I'm Illinois native (farmland kid) ex navy submarine 4 yrs in.
It wasn’t that windy. I have to start using my Rode microphone. I have set up in the wind though ( my first night at Q) and I faced into the wind and set up quickly. Not that difficult. The most important considerations are leveling side to side and front to back. Very important.
I’m looking forward to going back. I’ve fallen in love with Thunder Canyon and Quartzsite and will return to Q in the fall. Thunder Canyon is a private campground owned by “The RV Odd Couple “ and is open year round. I spent October there. It is an incredible campground with incredible people. My Aliner Classic held up great in the wind’s sustaining gusts in the 40’s. While it is light, it is not top heavy and handles the wind well. It is perfect for CiCi, Princess (my 2 Chihuahuas)and myself. With all the curtains up, I’ve got a 360 degree view my surroundings in LaPosa South. Have a great day!
Well, supplies are necessary. Off Grid entails no connection or use of city services. If I was living totally off the land, the correct term would be self sufficient. Thanks for the comment.
i have a 21' trailer with 300 watt of portable solar and will be increasing to 600 watts of portable/ i see you have multiple portable solar panels. How to you secure the panels when you leave your site? Happy New Year. I may come to Quartzsite next year and enjoy all the you tube videos, Thanks.
I don’t leave them out when I leave my site. I also carry a Champion dual fuel generator. I currently use 600 watts of bluetti solar panels and am adding another 200 watt panel to the array for quicker charging. I use my bluettis for my solar generators. I have a separate panel on the tallest dormer for the house battery. This system works for me.
How much power does your air conditioner draw vs. how much your Bluetti devices can provide?

Nice video, greetings from Jamaica.
Nice dog pin.
You are my hero, Jersey Joe. I will have to come over for a cup, if I come to quartzite.
Absolutely, Gary. The espresso I can make is pretty good.
Espresso with coffee. Mmmmmm

I pray you get good results. The new rig has plenty of storage. I miss the windows of the Aliner Classic, but this rig is much more comfortable.
Looking good my brother, and this is a great idea
300 miles is about right, I drove 500 one day....never again! Safe travels, looks like you've had a nice trip so far.
I’m keeping to 200-300 miles per day. I’ll be Thunder Canyon (aka Camp Gratitude) by Monday.
Nice spot! I know the feeling of seeing water.👍🌊
That's a beautiful spot to spend some time. Thanks for the update.
Welcome and thanks for the subscription! Good luck and we'll be checking you out also!🙏👍✌️ LEEsureLEE Trippin' 😎

New subscribers safe travels.
Welcome aboard!
nice video.
Seems kind of windy there, do you have any problems setting up your Aliner in the wind?

Have a safe trip, Joe. I enjoyed being your neighbor. Cindy
Thankyou Cindy! See you down the road!
Safe travels! see you in the Fall!
It will be interesting to see your trip back to AL. When does the AL campground open up? How did the Aliner hold up in the recent winds Q has had?

Merry Christmas my dear friend. Don't forget to raise your truck hood. The Quartzsite mice are swarming warm, dark, vehicle engines and chewing wires.
I’ve taken precautions and parked my rig away from washes and brush since this is my first time here. Over a month and no problems. Thanks.
😊
Great video. Thanks for sharing looking forward to seeing more. Enjoy!
More to come!
Wow! That's awesome! So peaceful. Enjoy your journey!
