I am a perfectionist trying to make the most of my very imperfect life. As a single foster adoptive mama to three kids four years old and under, I thrive on spending time with my kids and decorating/ renovating my modern farmhouse.
On the Wood + Grace blog you can find posts about everything from skin care routines to the best baby products. I am a full on mommy and lifestyle blogger who loves DIY and sharing the best finds for a DEAL. Our family has been featured on a plethora of online news sites such as GMA as well a couple of print magazines like Good Housekeeping and Women's World.

Kid Friendly Somfy Roller Shades
As a mom of 3 under 4 and a foster mom, I am always looking for ways to improve the safety around the house. If you have had littles running around your house or have them now, you know that kids will always get into anything and everything they are not supposed to! From unlocking the front door, to trying to get out the back door, and even trying to figure out what’s behind the outlet covers.
When we moved into this house, the kids did everything to explore the house and were finding new “things” to play with every day. Like the blinds. Who knew some string would be so fun to play with?
I knew that I needed to do something to get these cords out of the way! If you have seen our living room, you have seen our Alexa and Google Voice controlled rolling shades. Not only was this a huge help to get the hazardous cords out of reach for the littles, but it helped SO much to tame the sun at peak times. BUT this wasn’t the only place that needed the cordless, automated and stylish shades. In my efforts to put myself at ease while the kids are getting more independent and want to play in their rooms, we decided to partner with Somfy to outfit the kids rooms with the roller shades as well!
For the kids room I knew we needed blackout, simple color, and a fabric that was… poop resistant. I know it’s sad to say, but it is a necessity in our house for things to be easy to clean! The installers helped us pick the best fabric and color for what we needed, and once the shades came in it was a quick install and we were ready to have the convenience of the motorized shades in the kids rooms.
Grayson is already obsessed with them, but is still learning to say “Alexa, raise Grayson’s bedroom shade” instead of “Alexa! Raise MY bedroom shade!!” Haha! We have even programmed them to open and close, through Somfy’s myLink app, for their nap and bed times so they know when it is time to start winding down.
The things we love most about the Somfy motorized roller shades are the convenience and safety they bring to our whole family!

Miracles Really Do Happen...Grayson and Hannah's Journey Through Foster Care to Adoption
มุมมอง 63K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The journey began in June of 2016, when Katie, a single Colorado foster mom, received a call about a baby boy needing home that had been left at the hospital just hours after birth without any information leading them to who he really was. At 4 months old his unknown parents rights were terminated and then on the day he turned 11 months, Katie adopted him and gave him the name Grayson. Less tha...

Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to follow our journey!! As we prepared for our next beach trip for Jackson's adoption, I knew immediately that we needed a better wagon to survive the beach with 3 toddlers and ALL the gear that comes along... our cheap store brand one just didn't trek through the sand. And Grandpa John had told me one too many times that our current stroller was an ankle biter. And ma...

Such a special story! So happy they are together ❤️
Thank you so much! This is my first time seeing your video and after the ones I watched yesterday I almost decided not to do foster to adopt. I know God has placed a baby girl on my heart for years and when I want to walk way He makes a way to revitalize the calling. Your video did just that!!! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful story! 💖
Wonderful young lady❤❤
Instead my daughter was a little bit neglected and abused on accident cause I didn’t have any help
They were meant to be with you. Wish the couple I almost privately placed my daughter with would have offered to help me parent and maybe I would have given her up to them by now only a few years late.
Can you sell a pdf complete guide to go through the adoption process?
Crying my eyes out!!!!
How do you manage caring for foster babies and working. Are you allowed in US to use day care services as a foster carer ?
Good question. Pretty sure they can and it’s paid for but I’m not sure if they would choose someone working full time since so many people want to foster babies
God Almighty made you their momma 💜🙏 How beautiful is The Holy Body of Christ!!!
I have a nephew named Grayson Boyd who is now a young man.
I want updates!! How are you guys!?🫶 I see the last video is 2 years ago. I just found your channel and I think you are amazing.❤
Amazing story. God bless you. 💖❤️🌹
Would love to see an update on your family! You are truly a super mom!!
You haven't been online much on TH-cam. COME BACK!
Ok! Now it all kinda makes sense! So glad that you were able to connect with their other siblings family! This is such a beautiful story. I hope that everyone is still doing well today!
God's ways are amazing, God's people are amazing.🇲🇽❤️
God's ways are amazing, God's people are amazing.🇲🇽❤️
What a wonderful young woman. These children are very lucky to have her as "Mom" in their corner.
That is so amazing❤
You are an angel on earth
I saw u on either Google news or u tube about u making changes from moving from Alabama to fostering/ adopting children!!! Such a beautiful story! I love it!! Congrats on everything going on w/ your journey!!! ❤
So happy to have found your channel ❤
Adoption has been heavily on my mind recently. I’m single in my mid 40s & no children. Love your content ❤
Don't ever doubt yourself, you are truly a wonderful human being with a huge beautiful heart. God bless you and your family.
You are incredible ❤May God bless you .
I would love to become a forest parent to help kids that they are in need. I had 3 kids now they are big men’s.
I am a single adoptive Mom and would love to chat with you. We have alot of similarities.
Can we get an updated Q&A of all 3 kids please
We’ve adopted 2 children from overseas (India and Russia) and one from foster care, all drug exposed. I’m convinced that every adoption story is a miracle in itself! It takes so many things falling into place, so much faith, trust, and hope in the things you cannot see or predict. Each of our children have their own ‘miracle story’, which I’m so thankful for, because the rejection they suffered at birth is one no child should experience.
"Divulge through it". That’s a weird word salad.
Do you just have a couple you tube video ?
Wow, God used you to keep those children together ! Amazing story.
pls do more videos about fostering, we are in the process of being licensed.
Good for you! My brother is over 65 and his birth mother never responded to his very lovely note. He was able to find out who his DECEASED father was via a DNA TEST. My brother has no fear. His father was a fighter pilot.. now we know where the lack of fear and high energy. Bless you.
What a beautiful story and blessing. Thank you for sharing. You are all so lucky to have found each other. That was definitely God placing those children in your arms. You were and are the intended Mother he had for them. He just had to make it work in a different way.
This is absolutely amazing and inspirational. God truly did bless you and your family. I'm so glad that you followed your intuition. And bless you for saying yes, even when it was scary and you knew the road would likely be difficult. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. 💕❤
I am trying to decide w my husband if we should do foster to adopt. Please 🙏 for us that we will have clarity and God's will. Thank you
Absolutely beautiful 💕
Are you married yet?
Whose Paul? In your other video you're with a guy named Josh??
So great to see you were able to adopt the third sibling! What a big heart you have! Hope you are still doing well!
14:50 "He's a very darkski-- dark complexion child" 💀💀 that's not dark lmao. He simply has brown skin.
What a lovely lady. Those kids are so lucky to have her as a mother. God bless you Katie.
you might as well marry the woman birthing all those babies for you.
What do you even mean by that? This comment sounds rude, insensitive and inappropriate!
Why even suggest that she marry a women, it's immoral!! No need to watch the video if your going to make comments like that!
@@armystar90 so having all those babies just to have someone else raise them isn't immoral? FOH, Karen.
@@jones2277 of course it's not right! you didn't say that in your original comment. you made a stupid comment without explaining what you meant. I was just simply asking what you meant by your original statement, because it didn't make sense. I'm am not here to argue with anyone. So this conversation is over! I am no where near a Karen 🤣🤣! So don't insult me!
@jones2277 You aren't very bright
I am a single adoptive and bio mom of 5, now grown children
I love your home!
I have 2 adopted girls and 3 bio boys, I love your story, but I was left wondering, did you also adopt the 3rd child?
Yes I did! And we fostered a fourth as well :) But she will be adopted by a family that has two other of the siblings!
Dios te continue bendiciendo ,,,linda y emocionante historia ,es un milagro de DIOS ,,
you really have such a beautiful soul. may GOD bless you for taking care those children.
I Hope their biological mother stops having children though. She’s not the one talking care of them and most people can’t afford to take care of ten siblings for example. Otherwise I’m very happy for you and for your family that God has given you. I’m very happy the siblings are together.
