Thank you for sharing
Love the work you are doing!!! It is like having an online in-service!!!!
You are my inspiration, thank you.
So helpful!! Thank you!!
Haha that kickplate is free therapy 🤣
Awesome my mann...Want a chicken leg?
Thank you
Where did you go to school at to become SP
@@CRCST.Journey i didn't, i went to school to become a surgical technologist and worked at a facility where we did both roles.
Good presentation Mr. Jessie🎉🎉
The unseen heroes of healthcare
Gracias no lo sabia.
what is the name of the material for testing the scissors? Do you have a brand Ref#? I'm interested in getting some for my veterinary department.
@sarahalaniz7837 it is made from elastomer material. There are two colors associated with testing (orange and yellow). Steris IMS makes them reference numbers are 621531 for orange and 621530 for yellow. I have never seen testing done on single use devices (most vet instruments are single use) but I believe it wouldn't hurt to test them as well.
Thank you so much for all your videos. I am just about to start to study so I can get certified and I’m currently looking for a school to attend. I thank you for what you do and I can’t wait to be part of the team
Hi . I passed the exam october 2024. I just want to say thank u for these visual videos. It was helpful in my exam.
Thanks sooo much Jesse! We just got the Davinci XI. Starting surgeries soon! This helps so much
Are you on your feet the whole shift?
@jaylagardner9159 in decon yes. Some facilities don't have chairs in prep and pack either so it is definitely worth getting comfortable shoes
A few technical questions from a SPT about to go into clinicals. Firstly, how can you not have a count sheet? Thats a double question bc I wanted to know both why there wouldn't be a count sheet with a particular set and how you would verify to yourself and for the sake of record keeping what is in a particular set. Secondly, would your recommend dumping the instruments out like you did at first since there are likely to be heavier instruments on the bottom that you're putting on top of the lighter ones.
@---------_________--------- great questions. This video was just for demonstration purposes and I believe I stated that I would not be using a countsheet as this tray is not going to be used in surgery. A countsheet should definitely be available for a set like this or some type of on screen verification process. As far as dumping instruments goes, I do get a lot of slack for "gently" dumping my tray. But I do not reach into trays this congested and recommend no one should. OSHA guidelines state that one should not reach into baskets when sharps are not readily visible. One to many times I have seen blades left on knife handles or needles left on needle drives, so I do not reach into baskets no matter how well organized the tray is. Now should one dump aggressively, no. But inverting the basket carefully will not harm instruments in my experience.
@WDYDCSP Thank you for the wisdom, another quick question, when trays come in from decontamination to the prep and pack area are they supposed to be completely dry? If not does that constitute them as contaminated?
@---------_________--------- that is a great question. Really great question. Short answer is yes they should be dry and no it wouldn't constitute them as contaminated. Reality is that they won't be completely dry and that is ok, but it is not acceptable to have them dripping wet coming into prep and pack cause not only is that a safety concern but if left on the shelves long enough provide a great breeding zone for microbes.
Not sure why you wouldn’t put first set of gloves on first
@@douglasbrekke3043 because gloves should go over the cuff of the gown.
I heard you should never bend those because the fibreglass inside could break
@anasxd1161 coiling to tightly or unnecessary kinking can damage the light fibers
Thank you very much for that video! Very helpful!
❤
I just started my externship today. This video really helped!
why would the instruments be prestrung before going to decon. how are boxlox being cleaned if they aren't completely open when putting in the washer? we open all clamps and box locks before going in the washer after pretreatment and point of use cleaning.
@betsyrodriguez8064 good question. At point of use instruments should be placed back on the stringer as a courtesy for ease of handling in decon. Instruments are pretreated at point of use and when received in decon, we remove the strung instruments and all other instruments from the basket. We rinse, sort, soak and rinse instruments prior to placing in the washer. When sorting, we do remove all the instruments off the stringer and either transfer onto a decon stringer or stand up in the fully open position in order to get maximum contact during cleaning.
Hey man I love the videos, I'm personally going to school for sterilization Processing Tech as well. Just wanted to know what hours & salary do you guys get & do you prefer to work in hospital or a clinic?
@@22zeke pay and hours vary drastically. I prefer hospitals over clinics as I get to experience much more.
Just had this used on me last week!! Happy I know how to clean it
Ur lucky u can sit.
At my facility when we get a SterradNX load fail, we just re-run the load. In your opinion, would you rescan the load as if it were a new load? Thanks again for making these videos.
@@gilandrew2655 that load needs to be reprocessed. The barrier system is now compromised. It's not so much about the introduction of sterilant but more so what the sterilant does to the barrier system and the CI's
I hate wrapping!
My dream job.
Are mats always suppose to go in bottom of basket before adding instruments?
@@Noneya-b7t no, they are facility and unit specific. Typically for delicate or sharp instruments
Serious question: Why are you not wearing gloves
@Noneya-b7t not required, and honestly unnecessary
On average, how long should it take one to assemble a tray?
@wagabagabobo-zg9ft that varies GREATLY. So I honestly can not answer that question without considering what goes into assembly quality wise.
When you say smallest to largest and curve before straight do you mean all the curved instruments 1st and then all the straights no matter the height?
@itsmetynice curved before straight of same sized and likeness of instruments, then gradually going up in sizes.
@@itsmetynice honestly, the facilities ive worked at, you just follow the order of the count sheet no matter what
We need repetition of both. thats why im here before my course. we learn from hands on and repetitian. When i take class it will just be a review for me abd reinforcement b/c im going to teach my self as much as i can.
So helpful thank you!
I found my dream job
Nice one
Me, somehow getting through training without handwashing in decon, watching this on my lunch 😅🙄 Thank you for sharing!!
No gloves? How is that sterile?
@whomeye2168 the prep and pack area is not a sterile area, it is a semi-clean area. Sterility happens after the sterilization process
Where do i get that
@@mazing32able you either have to contact your scope manufacture or order off of Amazon as I did for my personal eraser
@@WDYDCSP what's the eraser called so I can order it. Please and thank you
Thank you for these videos! I am just starting in the sterile processing world and this gives me a lot of insight on many things. 😊

Thank u! I've been struggling trying your technique tomorrow.
Please show us the difference between rust from dried blood stains in instruments.tnx
The last one is pretty cool. Is that a single 1-layer wrap and a peel pack acting as another layer..? If that works I'd tell my director about it asap.
yeahhhh aint nobody actually taking this amount of time to clean these arms.
Can you please show us the difference between rust and blood stained in the instruments before packing it or need to put back in the washer.tnx.
Would an automated flushing system be helpful for da Vinci arms? Something like the inside of the irrigator but for flushing detergent through instead of having to use syringes for the flushing stages?
Great explanation on the process and need to fill basin first THEN add detergent and to do it consistently. 4:42
Hello what type of gloves are you using ?
Interesting, thanks for this walk-through. Will any of these parts undergo stream autoclaving, or is the chemical cleaning sufficient?
