There is a dial indicator in the middle section of the machine which is used to indicate the diameter. Let's say if we want to make filament of diameter 1mm, we should find a 1mm filament or any rod of that size for calibrating the dial. we put this known diameter filament/rod in the dial indicator, pointing the dial to 0 position, tightening the dial, removing the filament/rod, then let the extruded filament to pass through the dial indicator. Our manipulation at this moment is to adjust the extruding speed or the tractor speed to make sure that the filament pass through the dial indicator always pointing to 0 or slightly run left or right around it. By this we get the size of filament we want.

1 kg takes nealry 100 minutes

It depends on the diameter of the filament. The best way to present is how many meters per minute. let's make a example, if the filament diameter is 2mm, in full speed after adjustment to make the diameter stable, it could reach 15 meters/min.

accuracy wise no much difference, but ut315a is of more function such as max parameter, data recording, backlight and so on.
