เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 ส.ค. 2024
KATA is a modern martial arts academy focusing on the art of Jiu Jitsu. Our system is grounded in a holistic approach to the art with classes focusing on everything from self defense to sport, alongside training programs focused on conditioning and overall fitness.
Through our practice, we advocate for the betterment of health and wellness whilst developing skill. KATA aims to curate a culture that values self-improvement not only for the individual, but for the community as a whole.
When it comes to Jiu Jitsu, we strive for perfection and stress the importance of how the art is executed.
Our approach begins with the focus and development of individual MOVEMENT, then the study of techniques using those movements to gain LEVERAGE over another individual. All together, we use this knowledge to create our own style and approach to the ART.

CLOSED GUARD ARM DRAG SYSTEM #bjj #jiujitsu
CLOSED GUARD ARM DRAG SYSTEM
The closed guard is the strongest position to attack from when off one’s back. In order to execute effective sweeps and submissions from this position, one must first focus on eliminating the top player’s frames in order to break their posture and create angles for attack. In this video, we discuss one of the most effective systems of attack from the closed guard starting with the arm drag. Here we cover details on how to execute the arm drag itself, along with how to chain between sweeps and submissions while keeping complete hip connection.

UNDERHOOK SERIES (PART 2) #jiujitsu #wrestling
มุมมอง 25421 วันที่ผ่านมา
Despite being the most dominant upper-body grip we can make in the standing clinch, the most prominent threat to the under-hook comes when our opponent takes a strong over-hook and counters the hip to hip position with an uchi mata. In part 2 of this series, we discuss how to counter the uchi mata when our opponent takes an over-hook. Understanding how to defend the uchi mata allows us to attac...
HALF GUARD PASSING PART 2 #bjj #jiujitsugrappling
มุมมอง 205หลายเดือนก่อน
Forcing the half guard on top is one of the most effective ways to pass an opponent’s guard while keeping them pinned to the ground. While it is ideal to get chest to chest in this position, the most common obstacle one will come across when passing with this approach is the use of the bottom person’s hands and legs as frames to create and maintain distance. In order to get past these frames, i...

มุมมอง 149หลายเดือนก่อน
Understanding how to set up takedowns with your strikes is crucial in closing the distance safely and getting the fight to the ground effectively. The most common way to set up takedowns in a fight is through using your hands to get your opponent’s guard up or to draw out their strikes, and then level changing into the legs or hips of your opponent. In this video, we cover some basic striking t...

closed guard has been my main game for 12 years (specifically this arm drag set up) and I have never seen / thought of using the back chase position as a sweep to mount. Really interesting ideas in this video, thanks for the info! I will be trying this later!

I am so glad I found your channel. I'm a blue belt that extensively works on my stand up game and now I am at the point that I can comfortably stay on my feet with the wrestlers in our club. This channel has amazing content and instructions, keep up the good work folks I learned a lot from your videos.
