Couple years old but this helped me a ton in solving an issue this week. Thanks!
Glad to hear. Thanks for the feedback 🙏
Thanks man. That's really helpful. However, you may want to consider slowing down a bit, because from my experience, people tend to get it faster when the explanation is slower and more subtle. For example you may want to say that the sorting is being taken care of by the visual and not by any table in the measure. You may want to show the results of intermediate steps, etc.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll try my best in the future videos. Best!
Your videos are really amazing I wish people can find you more! I had spent time searching for a solution and your channel was the only one that had such walkthrough.
Great to hear! - appreciate the feedback 🙏
I followed the same process on my semantic model but it has created 2 pqt files. Any suggestions how can I handle that?
excellent video!! Better than paid courses
Truly appreciate your feedback. 🙏 Glad to hear it was useful. Thank you!

Appreciate your support. Happy holidays!
Great video!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback.
Why don't you just allow the speaker to keep their video on and off for the rest of the participants?
It was technical challenge not done intentionally. Thanks!
The video was a great help. Is there any way to apply conditional formating to this?
Check this video on conditional formatting when working with calculation groups: th-cam.com/video/Y3d5CrVbbis/w-d-xo.html
This was a great help - thank you!
Glad to hear. Thanks for the feedback.
nice explanation.... it would be great if u provide the dataset so that we can practice simultaneously
Hi there, Thanks for the feedback. I will share the link of the pbix file in the video detail. Thank you!

amazing thank you so much for the clear explanation!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and sharing the feedback. Best!
Thanks Man, You saved my face in the company
Glad I could help. Good luck!
Useful. Thank you.
Glad to hear that! Appreciate the feedback. Thanks!
I have a simple question, what does (baseReportURL) mean? Is it the link to the report itself? Or should I create a new report with the filters used? But how do I link them together?
baseReportURL is the url to the paginated report which you can get by using paginated report in the Power BI service. I hope it helps. Thanks for the question. Best!
@ Thank you very much for your reply, can you please explain more? Do I just create a new paginated report without any content? And put the link in the measure? Because it doesn't work for me for what I do as shown in the clip

@PowerBIHowTo - This was super helpful to back fill the blank spaces with the last dated data. I'm trying to use DAX to create a running total across multiple columns (e.g. for multiple personal financial accounts); but I cannot seem to create the running total because PBI Totals the 'Fact' data instead of the Filled In Data from using your DAX in this video. Any suggestions on how to push forward to create a total? From the video (time: 7:06)... if you wanted to Sum: North + South + East + West to create a Running Total using both Fact Data and Back Filled Data.... can you show how that's possible? Much appreciated for your video!!!
Add a new DAX measure for running total, something like this: Unit Price Fixed - RT = SUMX ( FILTER ( ALL ( MonthYear ), MonthYear[MonthYearName] <= MAX ( MonthYear[MonthYearName] ) ), [Unit Price - Fixed] )
@@PowerBIHowTo Will give this a go and let you know if that helps me solve it. Super appreciative for the quick reply. Have a great week!
Nice one :) Scenario: If I have categories in my FP & plotting a line chart showing sales for each category (multi lines). Now if I select multiple category in FP slicer then line chart should only highlight those and rest other should be in grey colour. Anyway? Note: category column is dynamic its not static.
This can be easily done with disconnected tables. You can take an idea from this video. th-cam.com/video/JC8ITjq4Svo/w-d-xo.html
@ , thanks! But this didn’t feed my purpose because its showing highlighting on x-axis (date) but I have FP in place which is making the legend dynamic & displaying lines on behalf on FP selection. This is what Im trying to achieve but this is static approach as he created measures individually but in my case its dynamic (might change in future). th-cam.com/video/B4xsTGGqnLw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ups6rXOiHOTJ3zkg
Hello, thanks a lot for the video. Can you explain please the measure "Title"?
Hi there, please ignore that, it was part of another video. Thanks for pointing that out. Good luck!
@@PowerBIHowTo but, it is used in the solution that you explain 🥺🥺
@@alejandraangel7468 Just ignore that part or remove that condition if you want to follow along.
excellent tutorial my dude!!
Thanks so much - Appreciate the feedback!
Hello, thank you for the videos. They have been helpful. I was wondering if you could show me how I can also capture Last Year Current Month So I can JUST show the LY Month. I've used a variety of formulas to try and capture this in the "Totals" Column but nothing is working as intended. Here is the closest I've gotten = VAR LastValidDate = [LastAvailableDate] VAR LYValue = CALCULATE( SELECTEDMEASURE(), SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR('DateTable'[Date]), 'DateTable'[Date] <= LastValidDate ) RETURN IF ( HASONEVALUE('DateTable'[MonthName]), LYValue, DIVIDE(LYValue, 1000000) // Show totals in millions if needed )
Thanks for the feedback. What is LastValidDate?
@@PowerBIHowTo LastValidDate is just the Max(Date) in my date table which is September 2024. I want to return September 2023.
Excellent video.👍Thanks for sharing ❤. For the last step, instead of using List.MatchesAll, you can also use List.Sum(_) >0 to remove those rows that each has 0 value for the number columns.
How to apply to MoM variance?
Hi there, could you please provide more details? Thanks!
Brilliant👍❤, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback.
Great job! Thanks for the help!
Glad it helped! Thank you!
Great Gerhard. Great extension in VS Code. Thanks for the callout on my Vertipaq scripts.
Great job Hari! Thanks for the scripts, it is very helpful. Best!
Hello sir, hope you doing well, thanks for this tutorial, it makes my work a lot easier. But in this window function, has is a flaw. Whenever i put any filter let's say in a particular year or month, the function stops the running total and returns the same value as total sales. It does not work well in pivot table. Can you guide me by making a video
Sure will try. Thanks!
I watched yt videos, read a book, read a Microsoft site but i still don’t get what is the difference between many-to-many vs bridge + cross-filter solution. I was sure that many to many relation provide same result but in short way. It’s never explained. I read that there is not “blank” row and there are some problems with all() but I found no explanation. It is a huge chaos in that matter. Everyone also states that this is not true m2m relation (like a quote from power bi warning) and no one explains why.
Man, You are THE BEST!!!!
Thanks you so much. I'm not but I will take it :) Appreciate the feedback. Regards!
Hi Sir, Thank you for the solution. I was stuck at one point and your video helped me to implement similar usecase. Great content and amazing. Thanks again

Thank you for great ideas and content! There is so little info on using power bi datasets with paginated reports, so your content is precious! Keep it coming! ❤
Great suggestion! Thanks - I will do as I come across real time business problems which is the inspiration of my videos. Appreciate the feedback.

Have you tested doing a crossjoin and then filtering based on the criteria? I wonder how fast it would be
No I haven't as far as I remember. Why not you try it and share your findings? Thanks!
Thanks, would it be possible to share GitHub link?
Hi there, Here is the link to the git repository. github.com/microsoft/powerbi-tools-for-capacities Thanks!
An excellent and informative session, as always. However, unless I missed it while grabbing a coffee, the most important question wasn't answered: What's the origin of "Four Moos," perhaps the most distinctive name in the Power BI community? We need this question answered. Performance testing doesn't get enough coverage, considering the widespread capacity performance issues out there - so an excellent topic choice. Having done quite a bit of work with the Realistic Load Test Tool, I find its concept great, but feel the implementation is just a bit too clunky to be practical. I've reverted to manual load testing: getting say 10 users to log in concurrently to a report and smash a random selection of slicers and filters continuously for 10 minutes. Then, using the FCMA (Fabric Capacity Metrics App), quantify the average interactive load per query hitting the capacity (% of capacity consumed). This approach feels more realistic & transparent to me. Thanks again for the session, great topic, knowledgable presenter, excellent questions, and plenty of food for thought.
Indeed, it is a great session, and lot of insight. Agree with the missing part but I think it is here www.fourmoo.com/contact/about-us/ Enjoy!
Hello, if I want to compare more than two prices since I have 1000 products and they are registered per day, how can I do it?
I have used similar way of recreating the calculation group of time intelligence. the data is blank but the column header remains same
