Amazing video! Thank you
Absolutely disgusting sad thing is was probably someone that Ed had helped hope whoever it was gets dealt with rip Ed and thanks for your kind heart
Rip Ed great man
This is amazing to see what you guys are up to. Changing the world one person at a time. Love you guys
Rest in Peace, Ed. Thank you for making a difference.
Such sad news. I didn't know of Ed's passing. I hope Guelph can remember him in some way that's worthy of the man. Even though I'm in Northern Ireland, I could see the good he was doing for so many.
Great reporting Troy!
Thanks Pete, Ed was a complicated and outspoken man. That earned him a few enemies over the past 54 years since he moved to Guelph but he was dedicated to the cause of helping “the poor” and vulnerable people in Guelph and this break in is an insult to his memory
RIP Ed Saturday Aug 24, 2024
Sad that many homeless people only have the things they collect to hold onto which then becomes an issue of hoarding.
Homeless people have so much stuff and most of it's stolen
Great interview 👍
Hi Troy. I've been trying to find a way to contact you privately, but I couldn't. Lol So this was the only way. I have a story you might be interested in, but I'd rather not discuss it openly. Please let me know how/where to contact you. Cheers

The old 'renoviction' scheme
until 'ontario works' (no ontario doesn't work, it's obviously broken) steps up to the plate and starts paying first & last this will just continue, is somebody going to hire women like Jennifer and pay her a living wage? years of unchecked speculators, house flippers, people who call themselves 'investors' get rich quick schemers have driven housing prices up to the stratosphere, and robbed everyone else out of affordable housing.

You guys are so awesome...Please give us more...👏👏👏
Not bad, not bad
Thanks so much, Kevin, for all you do.... the city needs to step up to help out. Who could ever fill your shoes, should this service , God forbid, ever run dry ? After all you are covering the gaps from the loss of other programs such as Sister Christine's original drop in that offered two meals and a place to hang out. Thank you Troy for your coverage of these local concerns & creating Bellweather town.
You're a bum.
All it takes is one person who has a power trip and they don’t want you in there area
Sure miss ya all
God bless people like you, wish there were more in the world!❤️🙏
Developers own your govts. When was the last time you seen a single detached home/smaller bungalow built like in the 50's 60's 70's? All I see now is huge homes, condos, townhouses with no backyards at all and way over priced. Something very wrong with this picture as well as large plots of land which were approved for developing up to decade ago sitting vacant because the prices aren't there yet.
Love you Dad! You do so many great things for the world 🥰 I know Mum is so proud and smiling 💜
He was a public school teacher so every dime he ever got paid was tax dollars. He's retired at 52 . His biggest complaint in life is that taxes are too high. I am the only one who can see the irony in that?
A better example of irony is home owners paying higher property tax to make up for the loss of municipal revenue created by the Ontario Government eliminating development fees to make it cheaper for property developers to build homes average people, including Ryan's former students, can't afford to buy.
@@troybridgeman By maintaining a low minimum wage so they can say they keep people working while guaranteeing they can't afford a home. When my father bought the family home in Guelph it was worth 7 years salary at minimum wage and now it's worth 30 years salary at minimum wage. So don't you think it's more important to protest the lack of support for those who can't afford a home?
The main reason the property tax increase is higher than usual is to make up for the loss of revenue transfers from the province. The Ford government eliminated development fees to make it cheaper to build and therefore encourage developers to build more homes. This was part of their plan to address the housing crisis. The development fees were typically transferred to municipalities where the homes were being built, but now municipalities have to find other ways to make up for the loss of revenue so, they raise taxes. Many people, including Ryan, are upset that they are having to pay more to make it cheaper for developers to build homes most working people can't afford to rent, let alone buy. @@donrusk8173
@@donrusk8173but you are right Don. More needs to be done to make housing more affordable. Wages have not kept pace with the rising cost of living and we have a generation of young people who will never earn enough to buy a home no matter how much or how hard they work
The mayor listened to you, just as well as he listened to so many citizens of guelph that showed up to make sure his anti-human rights bylaw didn't go through. THANK YOU for your courage in voicing your concerns about how broken our system is.
