Yeahhh I think giving up dating is the best idea I haven’t dated in years due to this

I'm going to have to disagree with this. I don't become romantically interested in a man until he and I are friends first. The only men I've ever dated have been friends first. I may find a man physically attractive, but I literally don't want to sleep with him unless he is my friend first. Many happy marriages began as friendships that turned into love. You can't control your feelings. It's not about putting someone into a category. If you are just friends, you're just friends. If you fall in love, you fall in love. You don't choose that.

Blue collar worker wife here (aircraft equipment mechanic). He keeps EVERYTHING in working order; including household, car, and yard things! It definitely helps me live in my "soft girl era" most of the time! Only problem is he spent 7 years in the military before I met him and retained a few of those traits.😬 You ain't wrong about those two professions! 😅

So in essence the question is not can we date while practicing celibacy or abstinence, but it's the opposite. I.e., what is the legitimate justification to actually have xes while dating? Given the terrible risks. That before jumping in we must recognize the potential great costs TO US for making the wrong decisions. And NOT be taken in by our own feelings and emotions, or on the other hand naive to the likelihood of a potential partner's recklessness, inauthenticity and lies.

I recently realized that the fact that I was married when giving birth AND that my insurance was through federal government employment are probably the key reasons that I had good experiences. Meaning if I had gone to the hospital not married and with Medicaid when giving birth, I might not be here to tell the tales today. Because I'm finding out through my current circumstances and experiences that a LOT of doctors will base the standard of care that they offer on available insurance rates and a patient's demographics (or their personal perceptions of a patient's character and lifestyle), rather than ethics, medical science or the Hippocratic oath. Bottom line is we can be assured that people will care about us and even do their jobs regarding us ONLY to the extent that we demonstrably care for ourselves.
